i live in the philippines, i bought a TI10 a few days ago. it cam in this nylon, leatherette carrying case. it cost me approx. US$50.
i understand that this racket costs up to $150 and comes in this leather case with embroidered Yonex brand in front. Is my racket fake or as would others desribe it as 'GENERIC'
Is there a diff. between the two as far as quality is concerned.
Need feedback!!
thnaks!

Hi Albert,

Wow your question is quite difficult to answer - maybe if you have a friend or know someone who has another TI10 from a different source - you can compare the physical characteristics, etc. Then, you can compare how the rackets perform - if you win with your racket - it's also genuine; if not - maybe it's imitation !

No, kidding aside - I'm not an expert on rackets but we Filipinos have too little references or sources for really good badminton equipment. Hence, we rely on those who bring them in and take their word for it. But, I guess your racket is good.

By the way, thanks for the tip about the Gosen 250 in Virra Mall - you really got yours for a bargain - now I'll check the shop out!

Where do you play? last time i played was about 2 years ago.
first i got married then my wife gave birth, now i look like my wife when she was 8 months pregnant. I recently enrolled at Premiere gym at new manila. and plan to workout/play badminton regularly now.
If you need my help in anything, text/call me at 0917-849-3893.
about the shop in virra, he also sells rackets..the fake ones i mean. just tell him your the friend of albert, the one who bought the yonex ti10 from him, and he'll give you a good price on the shuttles!
Thanks,man!!

That was a funny reply Albert. I can just imagine how you look and how many months of rigid badminton you need to trim down!

Wow, you play at Premiere! That's a pretty exclusive and expensive place.

My friends and I play at Nichols - we are not members of the badminton club so we pay P50 each every time we play. In the past, your P50 would get you a whole day playing time ! But now, with a lot more players they're dividing the playing times into 3 categories. Like 7 am to 12 noon, 12 noon to 5pm and 5 pm to 10pm.

However, since we are only weekend players (Sunday) we never get to pay more than P50 as we are there early and leave by lunchtime. Sometimes we get training drills from Coach Poly Lapeņa who was a former coach and player of the Philippine Badminton Team. Mang Jun Tupas is also there to coach and drill.

There's also a canteen where they cook your meals fresh! A regular breakfast of hotdog, egg and rice is around P35 only!

We tried playing at Camp Aguinaldo too. There are two badminton sites there, one at Logcomm, court fee is P25 only and the Camp Aguinaldo Badminton Club near the AFP theater - court fee is P50.

But since these are military camps, they have days allocated for military and members only - that's usually Tue, Thu, Sat.

The group I play with just started playing badminton last year and we do it for fitness purposes as our jobs are mostly sedentary. With badminton - you get fit and have fun! There's also the thrill of winning and coping with losing! Teaches you a lot.

But, our main problem is the lack of good, decent courts to play in. I think the sport's popularity is slowly picking up that demand for court availability is high specially during after office hours and weekends! Sometimes you'd wish you lived in Thailand or Indonesia where you'd find badminton centers with 15 to 20 courts - and it still gets packed!

Anyway, good luck in your trimming campaign and thanks for the tip on the Virra Mall shop. Who knows we might get to play against each other's group someday!

u can check if its an imitation but seeing how sharp the painting on the racket is...most fake ones are blurry..especially the writing on the racket..
the ti on the frame should not be painted on...u should feel a bump when it changes from graphite to titanium..and the letters ti on the titanium should be sharp...not blurry..and also.take the grip all off until u come to the wood..there should be a sticker on the wood with serial numbers and a barcode that says yonex ti-10 and so on...if thats all there..its probably either genuine or an excellent imitation...haha..most likely its real and u got a good deal on it..
