Anyway, if Park want to be the top notch player, he has to go thru the same test that Chong Wei has gone thru before. If Park pass the test tomorrow beating Bao Chunlai then you can imagine the boost to his confident, even if he lose, it's still a valuable experience and will help him down the road. Is a win win situation for young Park!
Agree. Anyway, BCL has played so much badminton the last two months,he must be close to burning out.He lost to PSH straight sets in CHN Mobile Invite last week so PSH will know shortcuts in playing him. Just hope PSH still has gas left. He should, cos he's Korean and he's young and he's hungry.

Sometimes MAS fans are funny. Just because MAS MD Fuzzy lost to TPE, they think Fuzzy's hopeless. Give credit to Fuzzy for beating cai/fu at home. That itself is great feat! They lost to TPE because they were not prepared for them while TPE have clearly trained to defeat MAS MD. And TPE already served notice back in ABC07 that they are a threat by stretching them to 3 games but MAS ignored them at great cost.Sorry MAS.

nonono.... its because all the chinese players have super fast recovery rates. They practise an ancient art of kung fu that enables them to heal themselves. What they do is they consult their witch doctors, and then the witch doctors will meditate for 24 hours straight. After that, they will go up to the mountains to collect herbs to heal themselves. And then they are healed. See, thats how they can heal an injury that would otherwise take several months to heal in 2 days!

i remember during Thailand Open, the number of floor moppers is around 5 - 8 per court, as compared to other tournaments with only 2 moppers per court. That is y, go they, volunteer ourselves to be floor mopper, n we can watch free ma...:D

There must be a reason why he gave the walkover. Only he knows the reason and as badminton lovers, I felt very dissapointed with the way he treat the tournament. If he wants to give walkover, better let others to win.

Vching actually really (X10) wants Malaysia to win. It's like his magic spell stuff. Incidentally, most times Msia win when he does it. The worst the name calling, the more Vching wants Msia to win.
The other MD pair, Zakry/Fairuz had lost. So, he was called upon so CTF/LWW will win, and they did win. Look at Vching's blog, you'll find heaps of support for Msia players.

BTW, can you describe a little (ok 30 words) LCW vs Sony match cos CCTV cut it short with news like RTM (of all things must learn this from RTM!) What did kwun mean when he said match was so 'captivating' he forgot to take photos.

Fairuz has been "getting there" for a couple of years, since he partner Lin. Still far off. Already 24, hopefully he's a late bloomer. He did get canned a lot of times from Rexy.
And I'm more optimistic, many think Zakry better off with someone else, but it's too late to change again, too close to Oylmpics.

Why the World Doesn't take Badminton Seriously. Just citing China Masters as an example
1) Lack of respect for fans. They pay good $$$ only to have 2 suspicious walkovers. Maybe that works in China but anywhere else, it's a big turnoff. The way that LYB is manipulating matters make him look like the most powerful figure in the sport. Come on BWF, show some backbone. It's been going on long enough

i agree, BWF should take a very serious look at these incidents and investigate. if this continues, it will be extremely bad for the sport and lose a lot of its fans

2) Questionable umpiring and line judging. KOR MD pair walked off the court. Peter Gade was not happy with line calls. While these may be isolated incidents, the pattern is disturbing. I'm sure there are many more unreported incidents. If badminton is to be taken seriously as a professional big money sport, act like one

um...line calls are part of the game, whether good or bad. you cant only blame the chinese line judges on this one, there have been bad calls at a lot of other tournaments (examples. AE2007, HKO2006, INDO-OPEN 2006) also, not all the questionable line calls where in favor the the chinese players

4) CCTV commentary. While there'll always be some bias towards the home nation, the gist of what I got from BC member comments suggest ignorance and lack of preparation by the commentators. How credible can this sport be when the media comes across as amateurs?

i watch all the games on CCTV5 and i think they're usually pretty good. yah there'll be some bias, but they do give credit to the opponent when it's due (eg. Zhu lin vs. WMC). they explain strategy's and shot selections among others in good depth and accuracy. also, the commentators (at least in the Semi's and finals) are usually (ex)players, (ex)coaches, or a person with good experience in the game.

Luan Jin played both MS and MD, and with Lin Jiangli, he delivered the winning point for China's maiden Thomas Cup victory over Indonesia at the Royal Albert Hall, beating Kartono/Heryanto in 3 games, the 3rd game was a shocking 15-1 washout.

Chen Kang (not Chen Khan) was of the same generation as LYB/TBY, 2nd doubles pair with Chen Hongyong at that time. Didn't really win much but was runnerup at the World Championships '89 in Jakarta.

Is up to Chen Hong, he certainly in the position to say NO as he longer in the national team, however, he also realize the consequence going against Li Yongbo. I think he will do the "right" thing regardless, he knows he has no chance to go for Olympic anyway. He will play to his best and enjoy the "practice" then find a way to lose. We should not make such a big deal out of this, Chen Hong is a true warrior put in the difficult position. Just my 2 cent.

if you are not in the 'team' like CH the chinese team still have to enter you so by right Li Yongbo can stop CH from playing forever
