MEN'S DOUBLES
Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan vs Fang Chieh-Min/Lee Sheng-Mu -- this has to be it...another surprise opponent which I think Kido/Hendra should beat. A A match against Choong/Lee in the Final will be a great one to watch.

MIXED DOUBLES
Nathan Robertson/Gail Emms vs Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir -- I am not putting any hope on Nova/Butet....it will depend on which side of Nova appear tomorrow...the great side or the lousy one which we so often see :cool:

What I say about the 3 matches above is that ONLY Lee Chong Wei has the "ALMOST SURE" win.

Tan Fok and Wan Wah will win the Semi, their problem usually is in the Final :D
Mew Cho stands a decent chance to beat Zhang Ning, I never thought MC could beat Zhu Jingjing, Pi Hongyan and Zhu Lin but she did. Lets just hope Xie Xingfang vs Lu Lan play ahead of Wang Mew Cho vs Zhang Ning else another conceding walk is possible if Mew Cho win. Is just getting so "dark" for badminton China.

I agreed, if Chen Jin play like yesterday then he will be hard to beat. One thing about Lee Chong Wei, he's very adaptive and varies his play base on situation. Peter is one stubborn superstar, always insisting his way of playing, fast pace and attack which back fired.

Did CJ play extremely good yesterday against PG? Oh, I did not watch the game. I just refer to CJ's last meet against LCW when LCW demolished CJ in such an easy fashion---and with LCW's current performance I think LCW has a BIG chance to win over CJ today. By the way, I prefer to watch a tight game among the two warriors, not one-sided game like their last meet (in MO :confused:?).

If LCW plays like in FO, that is, cool and sharp, with delicate touch, I don't think CJ stands a chance. Don't forget PG's speed today is not comparable to LCW's.

Did u all realise that every time during semi/final, the match order is reflected very late on tournamentsofware.com. Why? Is it the event organiser CHN did not release the match order yet?

despite the wrong labelling, i do agree with F-38-I. there are a lot of provocative comments lately from members from not just one country. we need to remember to respect not only your countrymen but players and fans from other country as well. remember how you behave and what you say reflects on yourself. so next time when you write something, think about what other people and other fans will feel about it.

Lee Chong Wei vs Chen Jin - Expect a harder match than FO semis, but with the same result

WS:
Xie Xingfang vs Lu Lan - team orders may play a role here, but XXF don't need team orders, now that her hair looks better
Zhang Ning vs Wong Mew Choo - Smart Zhang Ning to overcome tough resistance from Wong.

Gail Emms/Nathan Robertson vs Lilyana Natsir/Nova Widianto - too close to call, depends on which male player is out of sorts today. I'd go for Indonesia, Lilyana has better fitness though Gail has better tactics.

Tan Fook and Wan Wah will win the semi-final provided the line judges and service judge play their role "fairly". i hope the malaysian pairs will not be penalised by those unnessecary foul like service foul, receive foul and so on... so, i would say the outcome of the match is heavily determined by the "performance" of the judges apart from the players' performance.
Mew Choo has had a good tournament so far. to beat Zhang Ning after the tiring R16 (beating Pi) and Quarter final (beating Zhu) is quite impossible. hope another upset will happen. :)
Chen Jin has home crowd support this time. he will surely want to avenge his lost a month ago. this will be an exciting game. i predict a 3 thrilling games today and Chen Jin should be able to win narrowly. :)

totally agree. :) Zhang Ya Wen and Xie Zhong Bo will involve in 2 matches this afternoon. i believe LYB will stress more on XD and MD. so Zhang Ya Wen will have to make sure she goes all out in XD. as for WD, Du Jing/ Yu Yang need Olympic and SS points badly as Du jing had missed so many tournaments due to injury. so, i believe LYB will again play an influential role in the outcome of this match. :)

Bao is fresh from yesterday's expected walkover from compatriot Chen Hong. While I will not delve in discussing that action, that walkover will ensure that many badminton fans around the world will be heavily supporting Park. Although in normal circumstances, I would support Bao, in this case, I am afraid that I too, hope that Park will win. In terms of technicalities, Bao is superior both stamina-wise and skill-wise. walkover means player/s concede/s the match to the his/her/their opponent/s, and they are supposed to cite valid reason/s i.e. injury, extreme fatigue as to why he/she/they is/are forfeiting the match. sadly, this reasoning doesn't seem to work in this sport of badminton. sigh....:D

as far as i know, i may be wrong, WMC was able to win her matches without much controversies regarding bad line calls/bad umpiring... except for one bad call during her match against Zhu Lin yesterday. even that may not be the fault of the line judge, just maybe WMC was so into the match and the scores were close in their first set. any normal human being may think the line call was against him/her especially when the shuttle was so close to the line. but WMC was able to survive unscathed... thats wat makes her true champion:D

Women's Singles
WONG Mew Choo vs ZHANG Ning [2] - Mew Choo has been impressive by beating 3 Chinese (2 from China and 1 ex-China) en route to the semi-final. Mew Choo has beaten all the top women shuttlers from China except for Athens Olympic champion Zhang Ning, her semi-final opponent today. The unseeded has never beaten the 2nd seed in their last 7 meetings. The Chinese will be likely to continue her winning record against the Malaysian today.

Men's Singles
LEE Chong Wei [2] vs CHEN Jin [4] - Chong Wei has to be careful this time not to be overconfident and underestimate Chen Jin. If the game is fair and both players play 100%, I still think that Chong Wei will prevail.

Men's Doubles
CHOONG Tan Fook/LEE Wan Wah [6] vs XIE Zhongbo/GUO Zhendong- The outcome of the match will depend heavily on the service and line calls. Hopefully the Malaysians are mentally tough and not emotionally affected by all these eternal factors. If the game is fair, the veterans will have the upper hands but it will be a tough match.

Basically, I think they adjust according to the LIVE telecast coverage, and which match to feature instead of clashing. If the organiser do not accomodate the sponsors and tv station, we can't watch the matches LIVE, dude.

I am rooting for WMC to win over ZN. On paper, it looks almost impossible, but who is to say. She may just defy the odds and triumph over her opponent after losing uncountable heads on meeting with her. She looks a picture of confidence after demolishing ZL yesterday. Only if she believes in herself, she can do it. It's time for her maiden win over Zhang Ning, like she did over Zhu Lin. Her journey in CO is almost ridiculous, such a tough draw, CHN opponents all the way if you include PHY too (ex-CHN). She has come this far, I know she will not give in that easily for sure.

BWF should have a panel of physicians to check on the validity of walkovers, and imposed fines, points deduction and penalty like suspension or something. Only CHN team does all these obvious scandal of walkovers. Issues like this happens so many times. I think it's really bad. That's cheating on the fans and fanatics like us here. This is damaging to the glory of badminton.

yes. it looks like they got extra air time and then they figured out they can put one more time slot into the schedule. this is great for TV audience.

they also put all the CHN vs. CHN match on court 2, i guess they figured out the other ones will be more intersting to watch!

and becoz of that ... Astro INA got so many complaint ....

ASSP (Astro SUper Sport) MAS broadcast all badminton live from World Champion, Japan, Danish, France open and Taipei open and the last China open

1) According to newspaper, RTM 1 is showing 2 - 5 pm, then stop for news. Continue 6 pm - 7.30 pm. Means they already know the schedule.

2) Some of us dont have Astro and coffee shop owner not fan of badminton, cant ask them to change channel, + the other customers complain. They want watch TVB8 or Football

Anyway, still got CCTV5 and GD Sports for gaps in-between

Errrrr, actually for China Open, Malaysia's government station = RTM1 is showing SEMI F and FINALS. Can you get RTM1 in Indonesia?? Commentary of course will be in Malay.
Or online is www.rtm.net.my (http://www.rtm.net.my). Or like the rest of them, watch online thru CCTV5 and GD Sports.
