Yup, Yup, Kwun, Cheung, ACChan, red00, sell the photos to some sports magazines, some of the shots are unique - serious! . And become part-time photo journalists, piece of cake for you.
It's not that hard to write a news piece actually. Just depends what slant is wanted - all praise, critical, etc. Feature write-up is harder.

i mean for them to break the senior ranks, not beat the current top players. :D but if they could, go for it. but i think they still have a long way to go. i want to see them get to the quarter finals more. i want to see who will take over, in the next five years, the top ten places. :)

its VERY strenuous!!! its tough work finding a decent live stream sometimes!! not to mention its done at the wee hours in the morning when sane individuals are sleeping. not huddled infront of the computer with bloodshot eyes glued to the screen watching a live badminton stream from half way across the world. :D

My physiotherapist had me do the same exercise (with a 1m long medical rubber cord). I can't see her range of movement from the photo, but I had to fix my shoulder back and straight, put my elbow against my side, then pull my hand across my body.
It strengthens a muscle in your upper back which in turn stabilises your shoulder, and it did an amazing job of curing my rotator cuff injury.
What's GL doing?

It's quite tough to intensively look for the badminton shot. Kwun mentioned he got a headache from concentrating so much on taking photos. I also got one when I went to Macau Open. I didn't get one this time because various other variables kept interrupting my time to go down.

I don't know if this is true... but because you are concentrating on getting the picture right as well getting the right picture, you don't get to enjoy the match as intensely as a spectator does.

Thats true, you are just focusing on getting the right shot, movements, manuevers etc. Thats why you cant experience the whole match itself.

As I've posted before, you should really sell some of it to newspapers & Magazines. It's even better than some press photos, maybe they dont have such good cameras.
You can do some small write up too, and there, a news report, not that hard actually. Just approach any news agency, in US I think it fetches a higher price.

Yes, many thanks to kwun and cheung for the great pictures. It does make a big difference to following the tournament.
However I thought this year's TV camerawork was not as good as last year's. Any comments?
For those lucky enough to watch HKO courtside,is it true that the best MS match is the one between LCW and PG?

I think so.....LCW was lucky not to play rubber....he had the pain...it was just unlucky for PG not to take advantage of it when it was deuce.....very entertaining match....also LD vs LCW was good one....overall...I think Ina XD vs Chn XD was the best one......because no one could predict the winner until last points.......

u know, using a relatively low end camera is also a kinda training!;)

To me, what stands out in your collection are the great many pictures of people removed from the main action. You have captured a number of telling moments... and these usually go unnoticed by generic photographers. :)
A few of my favourites:
A weary, broken Hafiz retreating (post#355)...
Misbun's expression, if not body language, says it all.
Xie Xingfang's anxiety as her knight duels on court (post#337)...
Contrast her expression with that of Zhang Ning, just a racquet-length away.
Saralee's mysterious inner torment (post#330)...
Look at the others seated in the same row.
Kenneth Jonassen and his coach (post#211 & post#231)...
What's going through their minds?
Again, thanks a ton for making these pictures available :)

i enjoyed it too. i like the raw emotion of the hafiz and misbun pic too. the blatant show of disappointment on misbun face. and i like the 2 minute interval pic.
a few observation :
1. it seems that a lot of players are getting taped up lately. i think a majority of them have some sort of taping done to their legs and some have supports for their knees and ankles. does this mean that today's game are more vigorous than the olden days that it takes a toll on the physical of players. if so, these players will surely have bad aches when they reach old age. maybe the schedule is too taxing.
2. TBH does not look as skinny as i remember him before. did he build up some muscle or something?

Wijaya can be such a clown :p:D and a very good entertainer. really happy to have finally seen the "Gods" play
:p..Candra looks very animated in that one pic, with his left knee in a semi-raised position...*sigh* aih, must be signs of growing old..:p:D;)
Hafiz lost again.

Yup, both pic, the earlier one with a weary Hafiz shaking hands with Misbun and the one with Misbun's stare, good candid photos.
And captions too, Oldhand is better at it, his English is better.
The pic of weary Hafiz & Misbun staring :
"A chance given, A chance taken, a chance blown, a disappointment given."
OR "Patiently have I waited, wearily have I borne the pressure, wearily I still await."
Of players sprawled out to return shuttle :

Of Kido/Setiawan in action (this one's always fun) :

Sounds better than 'skinny sticky', he he. That was originally for TBH but TBH gained some flesh lately. I thought of another nickname for TBH.
Actually I wanted to name Setiawan 'pole' , he doesnt have enuf muscles to be called 'pillar' - but his fans might get angry, so.... he's pillar.
Besides, 'junkies', 'skinny sticky' or 'pole' arent official printable names for a World Champ.
