Great photos kwun.
Which cam did use?
With the Canon Ixus, I can't catch well those action pics, they become a blur (or maybe I don't know how to use its functionalities??).
I am thinking of getting the Sony DSC-H3 or H-9 which has a high shutter speed feature.

I'm thinking of getting a new digicam too. I'll probably go for Canon 350D or 40D. Hehe...

this is kwun using Huang's account.

the racket is a Cab20MS. i have a zoomed in version i can post later.

Koreans have a lot of Ti-10s and other odd rackets for some reason.

I think it's Ti-10; you can see the Ti mesh on the 3 and 9 O'clock sections, and the shaft writing looks like the Ti-10 too.

greysia polii and hendrawan.

That kwun's photo must have been taken before Round 1 of the China Open SS 2007.

It looks like that Greysia Polii was already exhausted before she was to play Zhang Jiewen and Yang Wei.

actually, most of these can be done with many other decent DSLRs. i think only a few are stretching the capability of the mk3.

no edits other than crops.

yeah. the lighting is the best i have ever shot. and probably close to the best one can realistically expect for badminton.

Personally i think when they have all the lights focused on the court and the background ( spectators/stands ) is dim and dark, is the best for photographers. Like All England or Copenhagen Masters.

the last batch, photos from Sunday's finals.
I particularly like the 11th (WMC) and 12th (LYB) pictures.
(I can't figure out how to extract those two from kwun's original post :o)

There's an air of great suspense in that shot of WMC about to serve...
...as if she's poised on the threshold of some great personal moment (which was true). :)

As for Li Yongbo's picture, the expression and the darkness beyond somehow seem analogous...
...after all, his tactics and methods allegedly have a sinister air about them. :D

yeah. that's exactly it. :)

looking back at the photos, i am really satisfied with the results. unfortunately next year the China Open will not be held in Guangzhou anymore as the contract has expired. i am going to miss watching China Open.

i don't think its to disguise the brand.
i believe tbh simply had that training racquet amongst his ti-10s for strining from the big yonex booth. its free stringing since he's a sponsored player, so naturally, the stringers all ink the strings. and since the lafleche racquet was included, they would ink it with their yonex stencil as well.

disguising would of been a case like peter rasmussen when he was using his cabs while sponsored by carlton.
he would have inked the carlton logos himself since i'm sure carlton didn't have their own stringers at the tourneys

..Oldhand, i assume you're trying to use kwun's pics for reference??..Hmm, to "extract" the pics you have to:
- Right click on the picture
- Select Properties, you'll then see the link/URL address
- Highlight & copy the link/URL address up til the end of the five digit number, just before the "&stc..."
- Then use ..... format, in your post, and paste the link/address in between the formatting..and voila!:)

..yes, I know;)..but perhaps to "disguise" it from BCers (those not familiar with LaFeche racket) trying to figure out what racket he was using..
