Had a look at all tournament results, it seems that no men's or women's singles player was able to win 2 back-to-back Super Series tournaments one week apart, not even superfit Lin Dan or his girlfriend. The closest was Zhu Lin, winner in Malaysia, runnerup in Korea.

Obviously, the effort required to win in singles play is too much in the modern game, what with the pace being very punishing these days. And for a player that has to work extremely long and hard for a title victory like Wong Mew Choo, it is understandable that she could not maintain the pace today. Salakjit is quite a decent player herself.

Of course, I'm sure Wong Mew Choo will still beat me, even with fatigue, bad knee and all ......:D:D:D

Yes, MAS already had 4 male players (Hafiz, Roslin, Kay Bin and Tsuen Seng) thru to the 2nd round.

Wow, I just came in and found that Lee/Jung lost to the Polish MD. Match dragged to 30 points too. The Korean pair must still be upset with the bad line calls in China. Looks like one of the upsets of the day.

Had a look at all tournament results, it seems that no men's or women's singles player was able to win 2 back-to-back Super Series tournaments one week apart, not even superfit Lin Dan or his girlfriend. The closest was Zhu Lin, winner in Malaysia, runnerup in Korea.

Obviously, the effort required to win in singles play is too much in the modern game, what with the pace being very punishing these days. And for a player that has to work extremely long and hard for a title victory like Wong Mew Choo, it is understandable that she could not maintain the pace today. Salakjit is quite a decent player herself.

Of course, I'm sure Wong Mew Choo will still beat me, even with fatigue, bad knee and all ......:D:D:D

Yup Salakjit is Thailand's top WS. I suppose singles player are by themself, doubles they have a partner to cover for them if needed.
