Cant afford of going to olympics...cheapest hotels are around US$ 400 and some require minimum 7 days stay....plus tickets for Badminton is hard to get...sigh!!

You know, our young contenders (like George and Victor) are fast learners and they dare to take more risks.

I have been completely barren for the last few PAWs, being beaten time and again by even the globetrotter Rudy and our Kuching cat-girl! Only providence has kept me alive and above the 'poverty' line. But I almost joined the 'have nots' smacked right at the bottom of the pecking order a few times! :D

Yeah S$28 for a 5-hour ride! But the last time we returned by MR train and it took much longer though cheaper! ;)

However, Mr Yong has been most generous with spchu and me when he offered his place for us to stay during the last World Championships in KL. And you're right, he also brought us round in his sister's cute brand new car as well!

The same with kokcheng when I visited Kedah for the Kedah Open a year ago.

And Ants gave me a chance to visit Manila during the SEA Games 2005 when he similarly offered his place for me to stay.

You have to really appreciate what some of our BC folks can do to make your stay more pleasant and enjoyable! :D

A few years ago, when I first visited KL to watch tournaments, I was all alone with only my camera and my haversack! :(

BC has given us an avenue to enjoy our badminton game better, be it online or meeting up with BC friends on the spot. Soon we'll have a party in KL with BC friends as well just for the Malaysia Open SS. Question is whether I can make it this time! :)

If you are staying at the Tuneshotel, then it is simple. ..as i'm typing this, our Hau-ge's plan to be in KL this coming Monday, the 14th, has hit a minor snag. His flight was cancelled y'day, so he will take off from L.A. this morning (Sun.). He said, he will be in KL by Tuesday, the 15th, at the earliest..

Was some nandos place or whatever it was called.. everyone except me ordered low spicy-level.. i took hot, but did not find it very "hot" at all..:(

Elin and Johanna put up a very good fight against Marissa and Iliyana. lost a 20-16 lead :mad: in first and won the second..but half way into the decider they started making much more unforced, and also the Indos looked stronger :o

Hope to meet up with some of the BFers if I can find em :). My travel mates went to singapore a couple of days and will be back for the semis..

I am thinking I could wear SOTX t-shirt (that would be an easy spot marker :-) )... (a yoex t-shrt hardly stands out in the crowd :-D )

Twobeer, do try some simple local Malaysian food such as satay, nasi lemak, hokkien mee, laksa, prawn mee, all washed down with Malaysian Tiger beer. Satay is a must and will be a hit with almost anyone.

A group of 5 of us met inside the stadium where the fastfood stalls are located just after the semi finals. Hau-ge and fastdrop were not available, the former apparently joined the Indonesian team for dinner. We could not see twobeer as well.

Nevertheless, abedeng, robin7, spchu, hcyong and I proceeded to our usual satay stall and later adjourned to a posh coffee shop at Subang, a place frequented by Robin.

Hopefully, we could all meet at this same location inside the stadium after the finals to have a dinner party.

Just before we entered the stadium, spchu, hcyong, rwchen and I managed to take a group picture and I also took one with the Malaysian cheerleaders group, including ayu. :)

I was there on Friday and Saturday but chose to stay at home watching live today.

Anyway, I managed to meet up with rwchen, spchu, hcyong, Loh and abedeng after SF matches. We (except rwchen) went for satay in Kesas and yumcha at Taipan. Hauge and fastdrop didn't join us for the dinner.
