Anyone going to all england open 2008? There is a early booking discount and discount for Badminton England OnCourt/Offcourt members.

it is a good discount to book in groups. anyone member of BAE? we could book a group ticket and get good discount.

Yes!! I will be joining badminton england this month and buying my ticket. I heard one badminton england member can buy 2 discounted tickets? Is that true? I want to take my gf with me. I will be going friday, saturday and sunday. (quarters, semis, finals) what about you?

guys i think we should definatly do a group booking to get discount. I live in stafford which is about 40 mins from NIA so not too far. I will be driving there with my friend. We are 2 of us possibly 3 or even more. Lets make a plan and book as a group. How many ppl do we need?

You can go to the Badminton England website (see link below) and there are instructions about how to book by telephone, post and internet. (You cannot get discounted tickets via internet though)

http://www.badmintonengland.co.uk/show_news.asp?section=0001000100110022&itemID=1283&monthinview=2007/12/1

Also, if you are looking for accommodation laterooms.com and lastminute.com are good.

ok so we need 15 ppl in one group to get a 10% discount. I am a badminton england member and for me to book friday saturday and sunday it will cost me £37. I wonder how much I will have to pay with the group discount. I rang the number on the booking form and they were most unhelpful lol. Its just a ticketing company who sell concert tickets etc that are selling the badminton tickets. At first the guy didnt even know there was a discount for bae members. :/

I think you were probably just unlucky. I got the BAE discount without even asking for it! She did ask me for the membership number a bit later though.

hi crosscourt.....i am aware of the seating arrangement, however this does not really give you an idea of which seats are actually the best ones....is it best to sit in the higher tiers with a better angle of view but further away...or sit lower down closer to the action but maybe not the best angle?

anybody?

crosscourt

I think the lower tiers are better, on the whole, than the upper tiers. The best seats for me are the higher seats of the lower tier (hope that makes sense!)

Just a tip for next time, the tickets for the finals normally sell out about 2 months or so before the event, although you've probably worked that out by now!

Me and 3 freiends of mine are going to watch the finals on Sunday at the NIA. But the best thing is that we've got front row seats, inline with the centre of the court. I'm sure the signatures and handskakes will be rolling in LOL.

How do we buy tickets with student discount? I am planning to get two weekend tickets (ie Friday to Sunday), it should be less than 30 pounds for each ticket. But I cant go to Birmingham before the start of the match, is there any suggestions? Or is there anyone kind enough to buy for me?

I think you've missed the boat. The finals are a sell-out according to some of the posts above!

zeddie
01-28-2008, 10:55 AM
tstan.. they are all sold out.

finals and semis...

semis have a few seats left.. i mean about 8 seats. lol.. but they are very very bad seats.. right in the corners, far away from the court.

finals 100% sold out. semis 99.9%

quarter finals are good tho.. im going to quarters.

I booked my tickets months ago for quarter, semi and finals days. I am in block 3, possibly in the front row, or very near to it I can't quite remember.

I am starting to get really excited about it! :)

I am in block 4, row 1, seat 132/3/4 (for the whole weekend :D)... anyone know if the view from there is good? Two years ago we were in the same block but further up and view was OK, but not sure what it would be like so close to the courts.

How can you tell which row you're in from the ticket?

I don't have the tickets on me, but looking at the email:

Ticket Details:
Block 04 (Lower): A 132-134(3) < A denotes the row number

ahhh k cheers im about 10 rows back then each day should be ok as we're slightly to the side as well. Anyway of telling whether your seats are nearer the centre or not is it just luck?

Captain Jack

I am pretty sure seat 134 is the furthermost one in that block

hey has anyone ever gone to the qualifying rounds during the week? are there many people on these days? I'm thinking of going.....

ianmercer89
02-20-2008, 03:42 AM
Never been I'm sure it would be interesting but I dont really see the attraction after playing against and training with some of the english players that are in the qualifiers. I would probably just get jealous of them wish i was good enough to play such amazing tournaments

hi there No One - i've been on the first round day before - the stadium is usually pretty empty - but when i was there i saw WC Xia get beat by Richard Vaughan...so if your there it's the best time to see the big upsets! (and let the BC-ers know of course :D:D:D)

crosscourt

I think Tues-Thurs the seats are unrestricted aren't they? It's only Friday (QF day) that you have to sit in your own seats I think so I think the stadium only starts to fill out on Friday

I am not 100% sure yet but it looks like I will probably have one spare ticket for Quarter Finals day.

It is in Block 03 (Lower) Seat A 109.
The only down side is that you have to sit next to me! :p

If anyone is interested please PM me.

Hi guys,

I have tickets for the finals, they are block 10 (lower) e453 & e454. Anyone know roughly where these are on a seating plan of the NIA? I take it these seats will be on the end of block 10 and not middle :/
