View Full Version : Pro players use 2U? Simeon 01-02-2008, 03:18 AM Because 2U racket is powerful I was thinking most Pro players(men) play with 2U racket. Is it so simple? jerby 01-02-2008, 03:38 AM nope, because armortecs don't come in 2U, so every pro with an AT either has a 3U or 4U. nanospeed's, ti-10's and musclepowers are all in 3U or 2U. But I believe the 3U's are most used (not sure). I think it's because they like to have some maneuverability in their strokes, you know, defense and stuff ;) Though I'd say a 3U AT pretty much plays like a 2U Dreamzz 01-02-2008, 03:50 AM the thing is though, i don't think that pro players actually need more power, they are gunning for more speed and control, so 2U's are generally not a requirement. Sgbad 01-02-2008, 04:52 AM Well, what i heard was 2U rackets are more durable. jerby 01-02-2008, 04:52 AM Just forget to say, but in my experience, " the por's" hardly bother with this theoretical talk about "power" and "control". From what I spoke to some of them, all I can get out of them is 'feels nice" "plays well" "I like it"... The play with the stuff that feels comfortable. The thing is, they get their equipment, and can ask for demo-models at any time...Why bother drooling at pictures and discussing specifications on a forum when you can just play with it? :p leave the technical stuff to us nutters ;) Dreamzz 01-02-2008, 06:07 AM yeah, i guess all the talk about power, control and durability is irrelevant. they get all their gear sponsored, so as long as it feels right, that's the racquet for them. MZHZ92 01-02-2008, 07:54 AM Yeah, the chinese team got an extra version "CP". they're are even stiffer as the "stiffest normal racket". So, I think they are also heavier. Athelete1234 01-02-2008, 09:04 AM I don't really think that this "CP" difference is true. Every pro with AT is using 3U or 4U, and most players with nanospeed and/or muscle power are using 3U. New Ti-10 only comes in 3U as well I think (either that or very rare as 2U). I'd say most use 3U. clearng 01-02-2008, 09:47 AM if u train ur wrist power every day most of the racket will be too light for u some ppl said YY CAB 21 is very light for sure pro are train wrist power every day so wat choice they will choose? 2u 3u 4u 5u? Athelete1234 01-02-2008, 09:59 AM I already find Ti-10 too light and I'm not even pro. It's all preference. (New Ti-10 btw.) martin8768 01-03-2008, 03:26 PM its all about personal preference, theirs no such thing as a racket that is "to light" its just your preference that you feel more comfortable playing with a little heavier racket. Smichz 01-03-2008, 09:55 PM I don't think 2 u is a good option for an intense game esp in international competition, where speed is really a matter. It might be powerful, but defense play n rally will be so hard to be accomplished. colekwok 01-04-2008, 01:53 PM I remember somebody said that Talfik uses ordinary SP rackets. So it makes sense that the 'pros' are just using similar rackets as we are. Athelete1234 01-04-2008, 01:58 PM Only "special" racquets are the China team's "CP" racquets, and there's no proof that they're actually special. david07 01-05-2008, 01:35 AM I also think that most pros are using 3U. As 4U may be too light for ther liking and 2U slowing down their defense wakloo69 01-05-2008, 03:43 AM 3U is between of too "light" 4U n too "heavy" 2U and its perfect for speed, power and control at the pro level. |
