Has anybody seen/used/know of someone who uses
the new "third generation" Wilson nCode NX Gold racquet?
I only see it listed at Badminton Alley so far.

If so, what do you/they think of it?

Well, it looks like few, if any, folks have heard of or tried this racquet.

Anyone have good experiences with any of the Wilson nCode racquets. I've read the n6 might have durability problems. But I've also read that a top player (in Denmark maybe) now plays exclusively with the n4.

That'd be Jonas Rasmussen, yes?

Yes, I think so. I read somewhere in the forums that he plays the Wilson n4 now. That's a 2nd generation nCode racquet from 2006 or so.

I had heard that Wilson nCode racquets were not quite in the same league as Yonex--not even the second generation n2, n4, and n6--, but clearly some folks are using them. I read elsewhere that the n6 might not hold up very well. And they are not really any less expensive than Yonex Muscle Power racquets.

Wilson has a 3rd generation of nCode racquets is "dramatically improved" according to Badminton Alley, so I was wondering what folk's experiences with the racquets are. So far, no response, so I guess folks in these forums have favorites other than Wilson...

I've owned the n2 & n4 (in early-2006), but I think I wasn't able to bring the best out of them...:o
I believe the new ('current') line from Wilson is the 'K' Series...;)
I'm not surprised that JR uses the n4 (and uses it well!). He'd beat the pants off me even if he played using a frying pan...:o:p:D

The new line is the K Factor Series, but the NX gold is also newish. Not as new as the K's thought. I just bought a K tour. Its on its way.

Once you have a chance to play with it, I hope you will return here with impressions/evaluation.

I should be able to give a review tomorrow. If it is indeed here tomorrow that is XD. Anyways tomorrow night I'll probably drop a review here, but with only one session behind the racket. hehe.

Sorry for the double post...

Well. Very good racket. Good power and good accuracy. Not as stiff as i thought it would be but, still a great racket. The power comes easily and you don't have to kill your arm trying to get power out of it. The factory strings are low tension and they are not what i would call awesome. Sweet spot has a good size and for me is just right. Overall a pretty damn good racket. I give it an A. It has a tiny, tiny bit of vibration but nothing serious. I was surprised by the factory grip. It has a nice feel. Its a shame it will wear out and be replaced but, oh well.

Power: 4.75
Accuracy: 4
Looks: 5
Solidness: 4.5

My new number one racket =D. If you haven't tried wilson. Definitely get the K Tour. A must buy for any wilson lover or even if you don't like wilson. I simply love it.

Since nobody did a review on this racket yet, I'll give it a shot.

I bought this racket 3 weeks ago because I wanted to change my playing style to offense. I used to play with a Karakal SL-70 before. Based on its stats, this racket is on the same league with N3 and N4. Wilson seems to fix the grommet problem on this racket so it looks more durable than previous nCode ones. But I don't know yet since I've only been playing with it in less than 2 weeks.

I restrung it with Yonex BG-80 at 25 lbs. The recommended tension is between ~ 24-28 lbs (11-13 kg).

First impression? It looks quite dull, not very eye catching. At first, I was miss hitting a lot and my shots (both forehand and backhand) were out of control, which made me looked totally pathetic. I decided to give it another try, and the 2nd day was not the same. My clear, drive, and smash were more powerful comparing to the SL-70 and I got a much better control on most of the shots. Net drop wasn't any better though. If you play with it for the first time, play with someone a bit below your level.

This racket is not quite good for defensive playing style. I miss about 15% shots comparing to SL-70 when someone smashes directly at me. So when you pick a double partner, make sure to get someone with offense playing style. I didn't have a chance to try this racket in playing single yet.

This racket seems to be like MP99 in term of taking awhile to get used to it. But once you get there, you get there. I wouldn't say it's as great as MP99, . After all, you can't expect a $120 racket (bought at $70) to perform as well as a $180 one. It's a decent racket for that price, and with some skills, you can still play on par with someone who owns more expensive racket.

I have a Ncode N3, and I love it! I even prefer it to my At900P, which says something, of course power is nowhere the same. I believe this is the same generation (might be wrong) to the NX, if yes, then it should be a good racket. In fact, I have 2 friends who have NS8000, but upon borrowing the N3 for warm up, or match, they actually prefer the N3, one even wanted to buy one off me, or wanted to know where he can get one. As mentioned I also have At900P, but I think the extra price over the N3 is not worth it.

Hope you find your decent racket!

ooops, and I realise that the post was orignially posted AGES ago. Sorry guys!

My experiences with this racket lasted 30 mins. I warmed up and started up a game with this racket and unfortunately keep hitting the rim as I was out of practice. :p
Lo and behold, the racket frame just CRACKS under the tension of BG-65 at 25lbs. I had just whacked it against the rim on the birdie and it breaks.
I have an AT 700 ('07) and [K]-Tour, both have no issues with me hitting the birdie with the rim.

To ppl buying this racket, please either string at a lower tension or try to be gentle on the rim.
