No such information in sina.sports.com.cn. Apart from Lin Dan, all other China players will be going to the Malaysia Open Super Series 2008.

How do they determine which players replace the withdrawn ones? Is it by qualification round seedings?

..the "indirect" answer is yes. I believe the highest seeded player(s)/pair(s) from the qualifying round(s), will replace those players, seeded in the main draw, who have withdrawn. However, the replacement(s) must be done prior to the final draw. So, it's somewhat dependent on whether the withdrawal request was done prior to or after the draw has been done.

*The rule, as i read it, may only apply to Super Series tourney(s).

Thanks, that would make the most sense. Andrew Debeka (#1) and Andrew Smith (#2) are very lucky then as I didn't see them making it out of qualifying.

..(cooler, do you think i'm BWF's official rule manager or what??)..  :D;)
Answer is, again, it depends. The new BWF rule only states: BWF will impose a $500 penalty on nations that have players withdrawing AFTER they have confirmed their participation. If the players didn't sign up to play/compete, then those countries can keep their monies in their wallet.;)

(oops, i was trying to respond to your earlier inquiry, but seems like you've edited it. But to answer whether there will be special re-draw if your prior inquiry were to happen)..
..my wild guess is, if a player/pair, seeded in the main draw, withdraws AFTER the draw has been made, then his/her spot will be left empty as is. Another question then might arise. What will happen to the spot if a qualifier decides to withdraw? Answer is, if i'm not mistaken, the host's nation's/country's player will get a spot to replace the qualifier who've withdrawn.

All draws have been revised to accommodate withdrawals. As expected the two Andrews (Debeka & Smith) got free passes to the MS main draw thanks to withdrawals. Lucky bas***ds ;):D

well, from the sound of it, blister feet, ill family member, food poisoning aren't planned events, so these players likely pulled out last minute (unless the penalty has an exemption clause for act of god or circumstance not in player's control)

BWF held the drawing too early, 2 or 3 weeks before the even started. No strange a lot of players withdrew with various reason.
Compared in tennis event who held drawing on Friday while the main draw started on Monday.
And BWF should has "Seeded players replacement" rules, to be balance in draw.
example
Peter Gade as seeded 4 withdrew, replaced by Sony Dwi Kuncoro as seeded 5Sony Dwi Kuncoro replaced by Chen Hong as seeded 9
Chen Hong replaced by best rank qualifier.
Zhang/Wei as WD seeded-1 replaced by Lee/Lee as seeded-3
Lee/Lee replaced by Chien/Cheng as seeded-5
Chien/Cheng replaced by Jiang/Li as seeded-9 and
Jiang/Li replaced by best rank qualifier
