I will be relocating to Mumbai soon and wondered if I could get some advanced information about possibilities to play badminton in either Juhu or Andheri area.
I am looking for intermediate doubles and single games - and if possible private coaching lessons as well.
Thank you for your help.

The Andheri Sports Complex
A former badminton national doubles champion, Uday Pawar runs an academy there...

Where are you (or will you) staying in Mumbai?
Unfortunately, where I play is a 1-1.5 hrs. drive from Juhu or Andheri. I don't know much about places to play in the western suburbs (where Juhu and Andheri are situated).
However, finding a place to play is very easy in Mumbai. Virtually every club has badminton courts. You have to be a member of this or an associate club to play there, or would have to be introduced by a member and pay the (rather steep) guest charges.
I've heard the YMCA does have a public badminton court, though I haven't been able to confirm this.

Hi
Does anyone know of a club/coach in Mulund or anywhere I can play?
I'll be in Mumbai untill April 2009. Phone numbers/email addresses would be appreciated - I can't seem to get anywhere using the internet!

There is a place to play in Mulund...I don't remember the name, but it's fairly well known locally - asking around should get you there. The courts are owned by the MCGM (Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai), and I think there are about six in total.
Coaching is carried on there (at least it was when I was there for a tournament) - I think they even have advanced coaching. But again, as for most things in India, you'll get the best information from the place itself.
For now, the best thing you can do is find someone who stays near Mulund and find out the name of the courts - once that is done finding a phone number won't be all that hard.
