How was KKK/TBH, r they really bad today or Hendra/Joko playin well?
hcyong 01-16-2008, 08:40 AM The schedule is a bit optimistic. Understandably, they can sell more tickets after office hours, but I would start at some time around 3 pm to be safe.
Blurry D 01-16-2008, 08:44 AM i think Joko/hendra played well pressured KKK and TBH to make mistake..
One thing i noticed that KKK and TBH tend to quite relax until they know what the opponent is able to perform. Joko/Hendra had powerful smashes..
There was a point where KKK was playing while lying on his back like what happend in macau open..that rally was awesome..
In summary, i think Joko/hendra gave their best and KKK/TBH were fooling around abit..
Blurry D 01-16-2008, 08:47 AM Andre Tejono.. Omg he is crazy he was down 11-4 and got back to 17-19 at one point fought all the was and never lose hope..man he was pushing
It was just round one and it was already breath taking..
zqloy 01-16-2008, 09:01 AM Andre Tejono.. Omg he is crazy he was down 11-4 and got back to 17-19 at one point fought all the was and never lose hope..man he was pushing

The Foo Kok Keong style? Wow i should see him play someday.
ye333 01-16-2008, 09:09 AM That's my impression too. And that's the big difference between them and CY/FHF.

Blurry D 01-16-2008, 09:30 AM The Foo Kok Keong style? Wow i should see him play someday.
Man he is still young and soon i think he will be the upcoming Indonesian men singles. Really if you see the live score he pushed all the way..
He still has a lot to learn but he never give up that the spirit in sport that i admire..
It was a good match to watch..
Blurry D 01-16-2008, 09:35 AM That's my impression too. And that's the big difference between them and CY/FHF.
KKK/TBH did well in the end.Honestly, they should take it more seriously.
Maybe it was their first game and they were not warmed up and fired up just yet.But it was good to see Joko/hendra to play with good tactics.
FHF/CY did the usual slaughter thing...
The highlight of the day would be PSH/TH.. at one point the there was a bad line call and Li mao jumped from his seat .He was raged with fury.
skunklover 01-16-2008, 09:43 AM the heat is on, yup........
good luck to all players today....
badMania 01-16-2008, 10:01 AM The INA squad is getting slaugthered today...more will face exit tomorrow.
MEN'S SINGLES
Taufik Hidayat [6] vs Simon Santoso -- Taufik to win...although I hope Simon can create an upset.
Chen Yu [8] vs Andre Kurniawan Tedjono -- no doubt about it, Andre can win it, after beating Chen Yu in the Russian Open.
MEN'S DOUBLES
Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif vs Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya [4] -- the match of the round tomorrow and the veteran pair has a slight edge.
Roman Spitko/Michael Fuchs vs Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [2] -- the World Champion is stretched to rubber-sets today and they face another tricky European opponent tomorrow. Another rubber perhaps?
WOMEN'S DOUBLES
Vita Marissa/Lilyana Natsir [8] vs Miyuki Maeda/Satoko Suetsuna -- if the INA tomboys play like today again, they will face defeat against the improving Japanese pair.
Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti vs Kumiko Ogura/Reiko Shiota [6] -- the INA pair never beat the Japanese cuties. So, it will be a major result if Rani/Endang can beat Ogura/Shiota.
Jo Novita/Greysia Polii vs Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung [3] -- ditto, I think Jo/Greysia can only last till R16.
MIXED DOUBLES
Ingo Kindervater/Katrin Piotrowski vs Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir [2] -- the World Champion barely survived today's match against the resilient TPE pair. Tomorrow's opponent is equally dangerous. It could go to the distance yet again.
Blurry D 01-16-2008, 10:15 AM Lee Choong Wei vs Wacha
Looks like a mismatch but LCW needs to earn it..Wacha can fight back from todays observation LCW need to me more careful.
KKK/TBH vs Lars/Rassmusen
I give it that the malaysian pair to win. However, i hope that they will give their best. The danes are not a pair to play around or to experiment new shots.
LWW/CTF vs TBS/OSH
The veterans to win.The juniors still have a lot to learn...enough said
WCH vs BCL
Seems like WCH is on his form..I say 50-50 or a very tight match..BCL is on his form too so it will be a very interesting match.
WMC vs Jeanine CICOGNINI (http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/player.aspx?id=18612&player=125)
This one should be the taking for the badminton queen of Malaysia.
Zakry/Firuzizuan vs Tony Chandra
The former Olympic gold medallist to win.I hope for an upset but with the current form of the malaysian.I think there is a slim chance.
Tomorrow would be exciting.I hope and wishes all the best!!
Its exciting..
yannie 01-16-2008, 12:20 PM I was there at the stadium today it was great and the heat is really on..

Enjoy your stay in Malaysia ok... :)
Joe P 01-16-2008, 07:36 PM Andre Tejono.. Omg he is crazy he was down 11-4 and got back to 17-19 at one point fought all the was and never lose hope..man he was pushing
It was just round one and it was already breath taking..
I watched him live when he played here in the KLRC New Zealand open (semi final and final), which he won; and he was awesome. Definitely have the talent to get into the top 10 in the world if he can be more consistent. Got pretty good temperament too.
If he can beat Chen Yu to day, he's got a good chance of getting to the semis I think. At least that's what I'm hoping for as I want to see more of his games.
Joe P.
V3i HoN6 01-16-2008, 08:11 PM Why start at 5pm, I cant wait that long.

george@chongwei 01-16-2008, 10:09 PM hope he get well soon and win his match gainst WACHA 2day...
from thestar online...
AN overnight fever did not stop national number one Lee Chong Wei from reaching the second round of the Malaysian Open at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday.
Seasoned campaigner Wong Choong Hann and KLRC Bhd’s Sairul Amar Ayob gave better performances in their chase to win valuable Olympic ranking points and joined Chong Wei in the second round.
The top seeded Chong Wei, who is now ranked number two in the world and virtually assured of a place in the Beijing Games, had to dig deep into his reserves to beat compatriot Mohd Hafiz Hashim 21-17, 21-16 in a 35-minute match.
Hafiz dished out a good attacking game, which had been missing from his armoury for some time. But a lack of fitness let him down.
Chong Wei will be up against Poland’s Wacha Przemyslaw today and he said that he expected a tough match.
“I fell ill last night. In fact, I was in the rest room just minutes before my match because of a stomach upset. But I am glad that I pulled through the first round. Hafiz certainly did not make it easy for me,” he said.
“I am sorry for my friend Hafiz. I know he badly wanted to gain some points for the Olympics. I hope he will go far in the Korean Open next week. “Wacha did well to beat Chen Yu and Chen Jin last year. I will certainly not take his challenge lightly. I will take a good rest.”
Blurry D 01-16-2008, 10:48 PM ADRIAN!!! You are in KL!! Lucky YOU!!!!!!! Where are the Pooh & Kitty rackets for me and Ying.. LMAO!!! :D:D:D

oh well, tommorow morning
cyclone9 01-16-2008, 11:07 PM i plan to watch it after my work.. the problem i havnt buy the ticket
will premium ticket available in the Putra Stadium? Can i seat anywhere hehe
Interesting match today is Zhou Mi vs Zhu Lin. I am really doubtful Zhou Mi will play to win as she still worries about the punishment if she come out victory. Badminton Association of Hong Kong should observe this match in depth and if indeed Zhou Mi play not to win then she shall not be sent to Olympic representing Hong Kong.
Chen Hong has a pact with China Badminton Association and see what happens to him, such a disgrace and destroying all his credentials ...
I hope Zhou Mi is not another Chen Hong.
CLELY 01-17-2008, 12:21 AM Timetable of today's second round is quite weird when the organizer set first match at 05.00pm and last part (MD) will be finished by midnight. But, yeah so friendly for working people...
After so many first round casualties yesterday, three INA representatives who potentially eliminated tonight are :
1) Simon or Taufik, waiting Simon create upset here but of course it's one hard job to dump the Olympic Champion
2) Rani/Endang, this INA pair has unimpressive performance compare than the other two, Vita/Lilyana and Jo/Gresyia
3) Jo/Gresyia, uphill task to overcome Korean world number four
-- An exciting clash between Andre and Chen Yu. Andre has advantage side in their two previous duels (won quarterfinal of Vietnam Open/07 and semifinal of Russian Open/07), looks like another close match once again for both of them whoever will win it.
All the best for Indonesia shuttlers, keep on winning...
abedeng 01-17-2008, 12:40 AM The organizers planned to use all 4 courts up to q-finals, thus the delayed start for 2nd round and q-finals.

abedeng 01-17-2008, 01:33 AM I am very tempted to attend the games after work too but not sure if they still have ticket for last minutes.
Yes they do. The stadium was practically empty the last 2 days. Maybe from tomorrow onwards, it will start filling up.
floorfilla 01-17-2008, 02:14 AM The organizers planned to use all 4 courts up to q-finals, thus the delayed start for 2nd round and q-finals.
It's just weird for the organisers to start the matches at 5pm.. Even if they use all 4 courts, some matches will stretch longer than the planned time of 40 mins per match, and will cause the delay of following matches. The last group of matches will probably go past midnight. Hopefully not.
The only reason I can think of behind this planning is ticket sales = $$$.
We live in such a realistic world.
ctjcad 01-17-2008, 02:28 AM Yes they do. The stadium was practically empty the last 2 days. Maybe from tomorrow onwards, it will start filling up.
..any sighting of our Hau-ge, abedeng??:)..I heard he's supposed to help/assist the Djarum squad/players during this M'sia Open..I wonder if he's also having the same nervous bout as he had during last yr's HK Open Finals..hmmm.. :p ;)
V3i HoN6 01-17-2008, 02:48 AM Why don't they start the match now.
Im very impatient. No mood to work anymore.
gidong 01-17-2008, 02:49 AM cant wait to see WONG CHONG HANN vs BOA CHUN LAI

We live in such a realistic world.
For ticket sales reason, I think they seriously need to lower the price at the first round and second round. Then put some announcement on TV and newspaper about the price to invite everyone to come.
The price for quater final onwards are reasonable.
madbad 01-17-2008, 03:02 AM And they're off! XD matches kick off the 2nd round.
1am... argh. i went to bed at 5am last night and went into work really late today.
damouse 01-17-2008, 03:11 AM Nova/Liliyana seems to be doing quite well so far...comfortably ahead in the first game. Not struggling as much as yesterday...yet. :)
damouse 01-17-2008, 03:17 AM 7th seeded Danish pair in trouble...Korean XD takes first set.
A little quiet in here :D Everyone waiting for the MS/MD?
shuzzack 01-17-2008, 03:19 AM Swedish??i think it is danish.
vching 01-17-2008, 03:20 AM everyone is either at the games or still waiting for later matches...
madbad 01-17-2008, 03:21 AM The German pair is more than holding their own against the CHN pair. 21-21
damouse 01-17-2008, 03:32 AM Amazing...German pair fought nail and tooth and forced Nova/Liliyana into rubber - after an easy 9-minute first set.
madbad 01-17-2008, 03:32 AM Oh boy, Nov/Butet's inconsistent play has raised it's ugly head again. GER duo take the 2nd game 23-21
madbad 01-17-2008, 03:36 AM Gail and Nathan are the 1st pair through to the QF, disposing of a game RUS pair in 2 close games.
damouse 01-17-2008, 03:37 AM I'm so hoping for a miraculous upset by Juliane Schenk. :P
gidong 01-17-2008, 03:37 AM Another disaster for INA team after yerstday ? huhu
madbad 01-17-2008, 03:38 AM Overzier and Hopp eliminate the CHN pair in straight games.
DEN even up their match with KOR.
Nova and Butet continue their Jackel and Hyde act, winning handily in the rubber.
damouse 01-17-2008, 03:38 AM Nova/Butet bouncing back strongly in rubber....they shouldn't lost their comfortable lead now.
Zhu Lin/Zhou Mi on court...woooo.
madbad 01-17-2008, 03:41 AM I'll kick myself if ZM wins
shuzzack 01-17-2008, 03:43 AM my livescore just blank..haishhh
damouse 01-17-2008, 03:44 AM If Nova/Butet lose now...they can just eat their rackets.
I'll kick myself if ZM wins
Zhou Mi is in a better position than Chen Hong as she is now under HK.
on the other hand, ZL is behind LL on Olympics points so if she wants to go to the Olympics, she cannot lose in such an early stage.
Nova/Lilyana won. 21/11 - 21/23 - 21/9
madbad 01-17-2008, 03:46 AM Nova/Butet ease into the QF after an easy 3rd game win
badMania 01-17-2008, 03:55 AM Overzier and Hopp eliminate the CHN pair in straight games.
DEN even up their match with KOR.
Nova and Butet continue their Jackel and Hyde act, winning handily in the rubber.
Not surprised by that  They thrashed Devin/Lita easily yesterday, while the other GER pair also troubled Nova/Butet today.
The Europeans have been pretty consistent in XD lately, with the Polish XD pair Mateusiak/Kostiuczyk even winning the title at Russian Open, beating He Hanbin/Yu Yang in the Final.
badMania 01-17-2008, 03:56 AM Zhou Mi is thrashing Zhu Lin now....while the XD match is in for a nail biting finale.
damouse 01-17-2008, 03:56 AM Zhou Mi leading Zhu Lin by a whopping 8-point margin...but still early in the match I guess.
Maximum 01-17-2008, 03:56 AM oh come on, ZL... Start ur engine now n win this... Win this 4 the sake of olympics!!!
V3i HoN6 01-17-2008, 03:57 AM Well looks to me that Zhou Mi is gonna win, at least the first set.
Maximum 01-17-2008, 03:58 AM ... and the victory belongs to the koreans...
apontoh 01-17-2008, 03:58 AM oh come on, ZL... Start ur engine now n win this... Win this 4 the sake of olympics!!!
win this for the sake my PAWs...lol
badMania 01-17-2008, 03:59 AM Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung earn the right to play World Champion tomorrow as they beat Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl 21-15, 20-22, 21-19. They wasted so many match pts in the second set and they were determined not to lose the match. A tough match ahead for Nova/Butet.
so it looks like the Chinese team closed door training didn't do their players too much good. Zhang crashed out, and Zhu Lin now losing 1st set by a big margin. hm.....
damouse 01-17-2008, 04:00 AM Zhu Lin bulldozed by Zhou Mi in the first set; 21-11. Have to say I'm surprised she lost the first set at such a wide margin.
badMania 01-17-2008, 04:01 AM so it looks like the Chinese team closed door training didn't do their players too much good. Zhang crashed out, and Zhu Lin now losing 1st set by a big margin. hm.....
I have commented on that too. And coupled with Xu Chen/Zhao Tingting losing to a German pair today.
Zhang Ning looked battered and she needs some recuperating time.
abedeng 01-17-2008, 04:01 AM Zhou Mi practically toyed with Zhu Lin in the 1st game. The world champion is still erratic, too many judgement errors.
BTW, Zhou Mi is wearing KLRC attire.

i think they're probably too tired after the training... this is just a warm up tourney 4 them...
abedeng 01-17-2008, 04:05 AM Good crosscourt netplay from ZL, 3-4 down, then 2 straight errors, 3-6 down.
jasonmarc 01-17-2008, 04:06 AM Zhou Mi practically toyed with Zhu Lin in the 1st game. The world champion is still erratic, too many judgement errors.

Really?...does she sponsored by KLRC....i saw some europe players also wearing KLRC shirt...
Zhou Mi practically toyed with Zhu Lin in the 1st game. The world champion is still erratic, too many judgement errors.
something is wrong with the Chinese ladies. well at least LL is holding up.
BTW, Zhou Mi is wearing KLRC attire.
did i miss some news some where? why is she wearing KLRC attire? sponsor or is she playing for them?
carine 01-17-2008, 04:06 AM now tied at 6-6
abedeng 01-17-2008, 04:07 AM ZM commits 3 straight errors, before ZL clear lands out, twice at the same place. 8-6.
badMania 01-17-2008, 04:07 AM That's a great catch by KLRC
WHAT???? Hmm...it will be interesting if we have an Asian Badminton Club League. KLRC seems to be expanding its feathers now...
KLRC vs Djarum
or KLRC vs Jaya Raya
hmmm.......
well and then there is Wang Chen, trailing 16-19 against Petya.
i am going to sleep. maybe me watching is affecting their play.
madbad 01-17-2008, 04:07 AM Lu Lan is making mincemeat of Juliane.
At least ZL is somewhat close to ZM in the 2nd game.
Maximum 01-17-2008, 04:07 AM yea, i saw quite alot of payers wearing KLRC's shirt too...
badMania 01-17-2008, 04:08 AM ZM commits 3 straight errors, before ZL clear lands out, twice at the same place. 8-6.
U are watching it live in the stadium with wifi???
abedeng 01-17-2008, 04:09 AM Zhou Mi starting to make regular schoolgirl errors. Team orders at work, maybe. ZL lead 10-9.
damouse 01-17-2008, 04:09 AM Aw shucks, no chance of miracle by Juliane...oh well, it was a nice dream, though. XD;;
badMania 01-17-2008, 04:10 AM Zhou Mi starting to make regular schoolgirl errors. Team orders at work, maybe. ZL lead 10-9.
I believe no team order. Chan Chi Choi of HKG will definitely not bow down to Li Yongbo.

And You are watching in the stadium?.....so good to have some one in the stadium to give some commentation about ....the events live...thanks;)
damouse 01-17-2008, 04:12 AM One of the hot matches of the day is up...Taufik vs. Simon!
Zhou Mi and Zhu Lin fighting neck to neck in the second game...can go either way at this stage.
badMania 01-17-2008, 04:12 AM I still stick to my belief that Zhou Mi can beat Zhu Lin.
Maximum 01-17-2008, 04:14 AM ZL!!! ZL!!! ZL!!! ah...

abedeng 01-17-2008, 04:14 AM The neck and neck battle continues, ZL dominates the net,ZM uses backcourt pressure, 14-13 to ZM.
abedeng 01-17-2008, 04:16 AM ZL not happy with line call, from my position it is correct. But she bounced back to level 15-15
jasonmarc 01-17-2008, 04:16 AM Yeh....TH Vs SS...on court now......hot..hot...like today's weather....
