Kido/Setiawan just completed their match, tomorrow's semis starts at 1:30 pm.
How did they play? Were the Danes tired or what??? The second set was a joke......

I thin MD belongs to Cai Yun and Fu Hai Feng..Kindra has no chance...but my prayer goes with them
Dude....u should probably watch the earlier match between Fu/Cai and Kido/Hendra. The INA pair totally destroyed Fu/Cai in a one-sided contest.

LWW leg hurting again kah? poor uncle lee
It is quite possible that LWW has not fully recovered from his recent injury....anyway the Danes are in top form (as mentioned by Abedeng earlier)......best wishes to them against the Chinese tomorrow.

Badmania, your heros won over the Denmark uncles, no sweat
Yah...there was one moment of sweat when the Danes caught up to 14-15 in the first set (despite the INA pair having a 7-pts lead at 12-5 earlier). But then, I think Kido/Hendra played their trademark fast-drives to seal it with 6 straight pts.

A rematch of WC between both INA , on the recent form. Seems no1 can stop MK/HS except for Fu/Chai
Looking forward for an explosive finals between them

To tell you the truth, I don't think even the MAS coaches expect them to win, their body language was less exuberant even at the start of the match.

Which them? CTF/LWW or CCM/CEE?

they are quite inconsistent....in HK open they thrashed the Chinese but during China Master they got battered......
Honestly they way they win matches are cheap....I mean I really want them to win the olympics and of course Malaysian Open but they dun have killer move like Candra-TOny (when they were younger), Cai-Fu Killer smash and KKK-TBH killer moves
I hope they proof me wrong

Find the Chn Masters Final and watch it. MK/HS is definitely NOT "battered" by CY/FHF. It's an even match I think.

On the contrary, I think the MD is well-representated.
As mentioned by one of our forumer in the chinabadminton.com:
"四对八个人全部拿过世锦赛冠军。风云和马亨的状态貌似颇为疯狂,连续轻取对手。"
4 pairs are all World Champions. Fu/Cai and Kido/Hendra's form are incredible....they have beaten their opponents easily

Indeed....97 (Candra Wijaya); 01 (Tony Gunawan); 03 (Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen), 05 (Tony Gunawan yet again), 06 (Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun), 07 (Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan).

I think d65 has confused the matches with KKK/TBH vs Kido/Setiawan matches, Speedy/Lightning vs the 2 mighties got a few where the mighties couldnt get their act together.

Lundgaard had service trouble again, other than that, Eriksen was missing his net touch. A lot of simple net kills went to the net. And his forehand defence is terrible today. The closest they ever came to was 14-15 in 1st game.
Candra/Tony maintained their power game. This match hardly had a long rally, everything was for immediate kill. Kristansen lost his cool midway in the 1st game - affected his performance a bit.
Cai/Fu played their typical fast tempo, a lot of pressure on CCE. Once, Cai even leaped for a kill when CCM tried to send a shuttle backcourt that almost passed him.

Dude is China master first or China open first??? The one that Kindra won is China open ya??
Kido/Hendra have beaten Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun TWO TIMES over the past 13 months in individual tourneys: both ended in straight sets and incidentally, I was present in both matches to see them live in action.
China Open 2006 Final -- 21-16, 21-16
Hong Kong Open 2007 Semi-Final -- 21-15, 21-12.
In addition, they beat the Chinese pair in the Asian Games Team Event Semi-Final -- 21-14, 18-21, 21-16 and lost once also in the earlier matchup 16-21, 21-17, 13-21.
The defeats came in China Masters 2007 Final 15-21, 16-21; and another unofficial defeat in the group stage of the Invitational World Cup (which they won eventually): 21-12, 14-21, 10-21 (note that they were without a coach when they travelled to Yiyang. Ko Herry IP flew back home after the victory over Fu/Cai in the China Open Final in Guangzhou).
So, recent matchups suggest that they are evenly matched at 3-3.

How did the World Champion play today? Esp at the crucial stage 14-15 in the 1st game. I suspect they were playing fast-drives?
abedeng
01-18-2008, 09:13 AM
Yup, fast drives that ended with Danes sending to the net. Or a loose return for easy putaway.
The World Champs were only at 70% I think .... Compared to them, Tony/Candra were totally committed and ruthless. Played for a big lead before the interval, then slowed down a bit to invite the Danes to attack and make errors.

And how's WMC play today?
LWW didn't look injured, but he was much slower than normal. They struggled hard even against Ong/Tan the night before, almost lost that match too.
Nothing weird, just out of control, they were playing with the drift, most clears went out of baseline, and they were too slow to react at the net.
WMC played better in China Open. She lost out big to Hirose on net exchanges. Had problems closing out game 2 with 6 gamepoints saved. On the other hand, Hirose kept making sideline/baseline clear errors, most glaring in game 3.
I suppose by the end of that hour long battle, Hirose made too many mistakes to giftwrap the match WMC's way. Pity, it was a point for point struggle until 14-12.

Shon Seung Mo almost upset Chen Yu. SSM wasted 3 game points at 20-18 and 21-20 but allowed CY to take 3 straight points to secure the 1st game. It was so close.
I was cheering for Kenneth Jonassen at L2 first row near court 1 with some other Malaysians. When KJ won the match against Bao Chunlai, some audience was "shouting" at KJ to give away his winning racquet but I guess KJ didn't hear it.
Wong Mew Choo almost gave me heart attack when she wasted 5 game points before Eriko Hirose forced a duece. Luckily, WMC secured the 2nd game at her 7 game point.
Lee Chong Wei just a class act as he beat Simon Santoso in straight sets (21-13 21-13) in just 33 mins. During the early stage of 1st game, LCW looked a bit pale, I guess he has still not fully recovered from the flu yet.
