Lee Chong Wei [1] vs Simon Santoso -- the home favorite will be going to the match in full confidence. Simon has done well too in reaching the QF after so many early losses late last year. Lee to take it.

MEN'S DOUBLES
Simon Mollyhus/Anders Kristiansen vs Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya [4] -- the oldies have shown that they still have some gas in their reserves. They were impressive in their victory over the MAS pair and they should have an edge tomorrow.

Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen [6] vs Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [2] -- MATCH OF THE ROUND: both pairs were impressive in dismantling their opponents so efficiently in R16. It will go to rubber-set, with the INA pair holding a slight edge.

MIXED DOUBLES
Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung vsNova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir[2] -- the World Champion has been in shaky form lately and it does not bode well for their match tomorrow. I think the Korean pair can take it.

Okay, I can view it now. Looks like there will be 4 courts to be used and each court will play 5 matches. If average duration per match is an hour, the matches can last till mid nite.

There is a resurgence in Danish MD squad, I honestly think they can land the title.
Tony/Candra have added power to their game, they are the next best bets. Both CY/FHF and MK/HS not at peak form yet. Neither are the 2 MAS pairs, only CCM is playing at peak. Defensively, both MAS pairs are still sound, though.

Yes, you speak my mind, what a blow that will be too if Chong Wei lose. Unlike KKK/TBH who seem to rattle in early round, Chong Wei is more stable and getting more mature in handling pressure, the same can be said about Bao Chunlai.

Kawan, not so soon. About another 5 hours later. Still working (ahem) in the office. I should be free from 5.30 pm (Spore time) onwards but I have to be patient to wait until around 9 pm to meet up with hcyong for our leisurely 5-hour coach trip to KL. Expect coach to arrive at our destination at about 3 am and one of hcyong's siblings, most probably his younger brother, will have the wake up to pick us up.

After a good rest, and probably some sight-seeing for me, we will converge at nearbyt Bt Jalil to cheer for our favourite player. I hope Kendrick Lee will feature in the semis so that it (my presence) will inspire him to do better! :)
