nah, I think you missed this one ;)
Several top-stars had to withdraw
For example, world champion and worldīs Nr. 1, Lin Dan (China), his team mates Chen Yu (runner-up in 2007 at the Yonex German Open) and Chen Jin (winner in 2006) as well as Europes best menīs singles player, Peter Gade from Denmark, had to withdraw.
The European champion has problems with his health and wants to concentrate on a few top tournaments until qualification for Beijing 2008 ends. (06.02.2008)

Surely, they will concentrate to next bigger scope tournament AE and SUI SS. When all top-players from CHN/INA/MAS/DEN skip this GP tourney, KOR still send full force here despite they must play TUC Continental stage 19-24 Feb/08. It seems they're so serious to collect Olympic qualifying point as much as possible!

Korea is lagging behind, that's why they are taking this opportunity to make up ground.
For Malaysia, WCH has indicated that he is going to Germany, but most of the squad might skip and concentrate on All-England/Swiss Open.

Choon Hann is very serious about qualifying the Olympic hence shall go all out and I think he most probably will qualify if he doesn't get injure with the backing of BAM.
I wish Choon Hann do well and I wonder why Hafiz skip this?

They are playing in Thomas Cup qualifiers, which also counts for OG pts. After that, the senior squad are going for 3-day camp to prepare for AE, that may involve Hafiz. Too short a time to go for training camp & fly to German Open.
But dont think the camp involves Anita Kaur or Lydia Cheah, they decided to pull out all those involved in TC qualifiers I suppose.
