Just got in some fun stuff, I'll try and uplaod some pictures in the near future...
What's new (to me):
the D700, soft yellow and dark purple, actually quite nice to see. 675mm, extra stiff (on par with the w7i) and slightly headheavy... With overgrip mine are ~90 grams and 290-295mm. Dunno when I'd have time to test it though...
lg200/600
not exactly new models, but both are pretty darn light and fast, bang-for-buck...
woven 10i
Dark blue, midnight blue, and some tiny 'sotx printing on the 'background'... Colours are 9/10 if you ask me, (stylish, not too shiny).
With string and grip, these things are 90-92 grams, and slightly head-heavy (295mm).
testing will wait, but form what I can bend it, it sure is some stiff stuff:p
Other stuff, more cp5k's, more woven 7's (which look kickass with black strings), wristbands (pretty comfy) and bags...
I had quite a list, so if I forgot to contact anybody I promised I would contact, I'm very sorry:(, please drop me a PM/email and see if I can make it up to you:o
Stay tuned for some reviews...I hope.. and better quality pictures ;) (darn webcam)

also, sotx came out with a new cover. Like the a velvet bag, much like the yonex-JP stuff...

Good looking racquets. Are both of them wide body? If so, the smashing power must be good...

well, the D700 is pretty much what I would describe as a regular isometric. the 10i is a little more "rounded"...it's not exactly oval, but the curves are very round.
Actually, now that I measure it....the d700 is wider than the 10i, now what I expected...
the 10i is 19,9cm wide (strung 26x28)
the d700 is 20,2cm wide (unstrung...that might be the difference ;))
While my trusted CP6000 is also 20,2cm...
I'd say the frame height/width is pretty equal, but the D700 is box shaped, or "diamond shaped" if you must ;) That's one of the main differences. (and off course, the 10i being 5mm longer, 680mm)
Again, pics!
http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/1439/dsc00665fb7.th.jpg (http://img245.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00665fb7.jpg)
the 10i, bad pictures, but it's very round, like some other wovens (w9, w11, w10)
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/2325/dsc00667mu4.th.jpg (http://img210.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00667mu4.jpg)
the D700, pretty much box shaped, though on the inside it's a tad curved... I can't quite tell what it is without sawing through it ;) but I think this would be a diamond shape. (like the D500/600/900)
The T-joint is a box-shaped as it gets though.

and for sheer bragging, the king of aero-shaped stuff: the CP series...

the racquet case yeah your right it is like the yonex ones thats pretty cool. The racquet bag itself is nice a little to small for me though but it looks really tall liek way taller than alot of the racquet bags that are out ther enow, im not sure if its just the angle of the picture or what but yeah it looks tall. what are the dimensions of its height if you dont mind me asking?

well, comparing to my old 9x9x-9 bag from yonex (like 5 years old by now)
it's definatly a lot higher...
but only two compartments..
It's a good medium-sized bag, ideal if you don't carry too much stuff... It'll fit 3 rackets, shoes, shirts, towel, socks, etc... just enough for a day ;)

Well, did a short testdrive with the D700.
I must say, against what i thought, I was quite impressed with this racket.
Many people like the D600, but think of it as slightly too long/heavy for doublesplay (or defense in general) other people like the D900's balance, but say it's too flexy...
Enter D700 ;) It's swingweight is quite like the D900, same weight, length, it's maybe a little less headheavy (700's are even balanced, d900 slightly headheavt) but it's just as stiff as the D600. To me, the endresult is a light and manoevrable, but very whippy racket.
Power is less than his heavier/longer/headheavier (less than the woven 7/7i/11/11i/d600/cp6000) counterparts, but its defense/maneuverability comes close to the cp5000/D500/woven 8.
attacking play: 7/10
defense: 8/10
allrounded: 9/10
next up, the 10i ;)

whatever happened to the 10i review?
jerby
03-11-2008, 05:09 AM
Can't believe I missed it, sorry :o
the 10i is a lot like the d700, even balanced, mid weight. But it feels stiffer and is 5mm longer (680).
To me, the 10i is more powerful than the d700, close to the w7/d600/cp6k, but not quite.
In short, it's stable, stiff, and a good allrounder, a great improvement on the original woven 10...(though a slightly different animal)

Thanks jerby, just wanted to know a bit more about the racket since you recommended it to me.

just wondering, how long is a normal yonex "long" racket? would an armortec900 be 675mm or 680mm?

The yonex long rackets are 675mm give or take 1mm.
