Gade Gade,
you are the master,
the defier,
as you uncover,
the many team orders,
by the teacher,
(or one can say) the cheater.

One might ask, who is this cheater?

He was once a player,
whom we used to admire
who became a dictator ,
then a destroyer.
of the sport we all desire
to ultimately master.

If you went thru the threads, it's ok with us BC Msia fans.
WCH fought very hard, like PG game with BCL tdy, pt by pt. Must have tired Bao Bao out.
Our young Julia took a set from ZN, injured her ankle along the way.
We could have got representative in MS & MD if not due to injury & sickness.
Plus, not so many players went this time. Top 2 MD didnt go, juniors also very few went to Korea.

Current World no 1, Indonesia MD Kido/Setiawan lost straight sets to Lars/Jonas. It's a good run for Denmark, they're used to the cold.

Yeah, sorry about the almost total destruction of the MAS team yesterday... :o I guess the BC forum won't be as lively without any strong MAS lineup in the quarterfinals, let alone the semifinals and finals... :o

Understandably, most of the MAS fans will not follow the rest of Korea Open once the last MAS WD gets eliminated. They will spend time playing badminton on their own this weekend... :p [I usually do that too when the INA team got clobbered in a certain tournament]

I think it has been proven in past BC forum postings that when there are MAS players playing in the finals or semifinals, the forum will be flooded by MAS-fans posts... If there are no MAS players in these final rounds, then the forum will be more quiet and less lively... :p These are the facts. I just said I can understand if the enthusiasm drop after the particular badminton heroes are not playing. Very natural.

By the way, don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy MAS-fans... They're fun. :)

Kawan, u r wrong.....we MAS, being good neighbour of INA + THAI, surely will support INA n THAI players this time....

We being supporter of Danes, surely will support them, too......
(since when I become spoke lady for MAS fan????:D)

NOT LIKE U...WE R TRUE LOVER OF BADMINTON!!!!!;)

I believe you would do that. But will all MAS-fans do that...? :) I understand if some MAS-fans won't support INA or THAI or DEN players at all...

Then you are WRONG....VERY VERY WRONG :p

Thanks, badMania... :p

oooooo, then show me the correct way....hahahaha...i m talking to Krisna, my fren:p
let me guess, do u mean that we follow the match, not bcoz we r true lover of badminton, instead, true lover of PAW???????????;)

Ha ha ha... yeah I understand. There are many true lovers of badminton who follow the games regardless of who plays. I think I truly like badminton too but I think some matches have no significant entertainment value for me to follow. :p For instance, I don't like to follow CHN vs. CHN WD or a UKR vs. RUS XD. If that makes me not a true lover of badminton for you. I can accept that... ;)

I don't deny that I like INA badminton a lot more than non-INA matches... :D I'm heavily biased towards INA. That is the fact. :p Ha ha...

The matches involving INA squad:

Court no 1

last match: Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae [3] vs Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto [6] -- a tough match in store and I hope Luluk/Alvent can progress. The Korean has the edge.

Court no 3
3:00pm Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa [4] vs Mohd Rijal/Greysia Polii -- no question abt it, Flandy/Vita to progress.

followed by Lin Dan [1] vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro [6] -- Sony fulfills his seeding and I don't see him winning against Lin Dan tomorrow.

last match: Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen [1] vs Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir [8] -- Vita/Butet can beat another Chinese pair here...but as always, Wei/Zhang have the edge.

I think Luluk-Alven can still progress... :D and yeah, Flandy-Vita too... ;)

Nothing wrong with being biased toward teams you support..I think every fan pretty much do that.

But if supporting one's team means having to bash another player/team because they're not from your country or whatever, that's unnecessary imo and I'm glad not much of that happens here at least not in my short time here ;).

Nothing wrong with being biased toward teams you support..I think every fan pretty much do that.

But if supporting one's team means having to bash another player/team because they're not from your country or whatever, that's unnecessary imo and I'm glad not much of that happens here at least not in my short time here ;).
U r right. I noticed that whenever MAS team is not doing well in a tournament, there are always the same bunch of outsiders who never fail to take this opportnity to "attack" MAS. I'm just wondering when will all these kids grow up.

And insiders too robin7. I argued on Msian fans being overly critical (to no avail),in which BCers from other countries think so too.

And how they say here & at the stadium (though not all)- along the lines of "go back to kampung, dont play badminton anymore", not very patriotic. All our top players in MS, WS, MD mention the home grd pressure.

They're not really kids anymore, teens & in early twenties.

Really?!? I don't see much [if any] anti-MAS sentiment in BC... I see much more anti-CHN sentiments and a little bit of anti-INA... Well, this is my opinion lah... :) Denmark seems to be the only country that does not get critisized or receive "unnecessary roughness" at all... :D

Let me rephrase that: I don't consider them to be MAS fans or badminton fans ;).

On the flipside an argument could also be made that since they paid money to see the matches they're allowed to boo their hometeam. While I might go with that, its really counterproductive for the teams in question.

That said, the players if they're professionals, should be able to block it out and not let it affect their game.
Easier said than done...but that's what makes a champion..not just skills but mental toughness. Something I like to see more in our younger players...and I'm not gonna name names .

Ha ha, you've been reading the threads I see.

1) It would be better if they dont do that at all, that was my arguement, since (as far I know) most other countries dont , except maybe Indonesia. Others, they cheer their players even though their players trailing 10 pts behind, impossible to catch up.
The home crowd dont boo all players, but they still boo (female players are exempt though for some). I never liked such mentality in the fans, I still dont.

Like they dont want their country men to win, which is sthing many non Msian have asked me. The foreigners were cheering for our players till the end, then hear Msians......, they said "If your country dont want them to play for you, we want them for our country."

2) But since it's the Msian culture, yes, the players, young or experienced, have to program in their mind that the boos are for their opponents or sthing like that.:D.

I now remember that most comments that critisize MAS are from the BC members who reside in MAS themselves... :p A very peculiar habit unique to the MAS residents. I would never say any damaging things to INA players. If INA players loose, we just weep for a few minutes :crying: and then go on with life positively... :D :D

Well, u r right.......aren't u?:D

By the way, don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy MAS-fans... They're fun. :)

I don't mind anyone supports his/her favorite players against players from another country. That doesn't make him/her anti-another country. Bashing the player(s) from the country you don't support is what made you anti-Chn or anti-another country

Also I took up the issue with you early in the thread that you seemed enjoyed the fact that SSM and Sony had won medals at OG, while LD didn't. But, denying the facts that LD won many more times SS titles than those two combined since OG 04 is not going to help your weak favorite players and will only make me proud of LD for his achievements since OG 04

So please face the facts and be honest with yourself in supporting your players, bashing others will not make your favorite players any stronger on court or in the eyes of other BCers, who prefer facts, reasoning, and civilized manner

C'mon I never deny that LD won many more SS titles than Sony and SSM. How can I deny such obvious facts. I'm very aware that Sony never won any of the SS in his life...:p let alone since the 2004 Olympic games... :p

I agree completely with what you said. Thus, I don't bash LD. But I just pointed out facts. If the particular facts happen to be unfavorable for LD [such as the fact that he never won any Olympic medals], you have to accept the facts, dude. Be honest with yourself that those are mere facts. That's not bashing. ;)

Somebody else, I forgot whom, said that LD won many SS medals. I then wrote that they don't fight to win medals in SS. Nobody counts gold medals, silver medals, bronze medals in SS tournaments. It's wierd to talk about medal collection in SS tournaments. Pro-badminton tournaments are similar in many ways with pro-tennis tournaments in the sense that nobody said that Roger Federer won the "Wimbledon gold-medal" It's absurd to say it.

Medals are important in Olympic Games, Asian Games, SEA Games, etc. mostly in multi-sport events... Anyway, I think that guy was just new to the badminton professional tour. Later on he will learn.

The facts you slept on was the history. Try not put your head in the sand since you have so much knowledge in badminton SS and whether it offers medals or titles. Pardon me for being a beginner playing and newbie in the forum. But that only shows how arrogant one can be

More importantly, you are anti-CHN as you said yourself. Next time support your favorite players and stop degrading others

Oh yes I prefer INA and ASEAN players to win rather than CHN. But I don't degrade others countries' players. ;) If they happen to loose or happen to not able to win something. Those are factual statements, not deragotary statements. What's wrong with saying things like: Lin Dan never won the Indonesian Open. gao ling is a veteran hunter hunting killer bunnies with her rookie hunter-in-training ting ting. If not careful, the smart killer bunnies can devise a plan (like circling back) to fool the rookie ting ting to shoot all over (like what dick cheny did to his hunting partner), endangering gao ling. If gao ling is injured, game over, killer bunnies win.it almost happened
