View Full Version : new Ti10 durability ?
matt5169 01-24-2008, 06:58 AM I have just recieved a 3u Ti10 (new) from mybadmintonstore.com (so i guess it's a real one).
I find that the top of the frame (where it's white) seems to be VERY fragile !
Is it just a wrong feeling or is the new Ti10 frame durability as poor as it seems ??
GunBlade008 01-24-2008, 07:28 AM The frame is very lightweight, and the top white portion feels 'powdered' so it chips easily, but the frame overall is not fragile, it can actually survive some light to moderate clashes
Smichz 01-24-2008, 11:34 AM What's the difference between new n old ti-10,except for the colour?I heard that new Ti-10's shaft is not UHMG(Ultra-High Modulus Graphite),only the frame,n not like the old one, shaft n frame r all UHMG?N i also heard that old one's head heavier than the new one.Is that true?
UncleFester 01-24-2008, 12:12 PM My ti-10(3u) has survived quite a few clashes, some really though ones too. I'd say it's a very durable racquet.

I think new Ti-10 only HMG for the whole racquet, while old Ti-10 all UHMG. New ti-10 is like even balance, old Ti-10 a bit head heavy.
SaintDragon 01-24-2008, 01:15 PM The powdered top is there for both the old and new Ti-10. The old on is just a black color while the new one is white. Both are quite durable but durability really depends on how tight you string and how bad the clash.

Ok..Thx athelete1234..then maybe i'll consider to buy the old one then. The one n only yonex all round UHMG!:D
xXazn_romeoXx 01-24-2008, 04:01 PM it's a real durable racket all-round for me, but where the "powdered" part use to be, the powder is completely gone and it's THE most fragile place IMO, cause i've chiped it a few times on simple mistimes, but clashes, it's completely fine...however, the most possible place to crack your racket, i've heard for the ti-10, and it hasn't happen to me yet, is the 11 and 1-2 oclock places ><
BennyC 01-24-2008, 05:22 PM Initially, the new ti-10 DOES feel very fragile, but after a couple of sessions, you'll notice it being very durable. The paint on top does easily chip because its like powder. Ive only seen 1 new ti-10 break and it was brothers at the ti joint... But the racket will definately feel much more stable as you play with it ;)

speedy 01-24-2008, 11:12 PM I've never seen a yonex which can chip paint so easily as the ti10. Poor quality paint job!

did you mean from the frame?
I haven't seen any Ti-10 that chips easily yet :)
speedy 01-27-2008, 11:16 AM I get the following chips simultaneously after flicking practice and hitting the covered treadmill. Had stronger hit with it with other racquets but not even a scratch :
Smichz 01-28-2008, 09:35 AM As i know, yonex paint job is preety easy to peel off.I have used Apacs,Kason,n some others n their paint last longer than Yonex's.Guess u have to apply some scratch protection tape on it,if u really want to make it last.
Athelete1234 01-28-2008, 03:27 PM It's mostly the paint at the top cause it's powder. Chips faster than everywhere else.
