Hey all, was just wondering who is coming to AE2008? Thought it might be a good idea to meet up and then maybe post some pics to make all the other members jealous (especially the ones who couldn't come)! Haha

I will probably drive up leisurely on Friday night but won't be watching the QF. I might even try and book a court to see if we can have a few games on Saturday morning. Anyone up for any of this?

I would definitely be interestedin playing saturday morning if you could get a court. I have a friend who'snot that good that would probably like to play as well he's not that good but it's all for fun and I don;t know the standard of any of you guys but I'm sure we'd enjoy it. Please let me know!

Ok, this is only preliminary, but we should be booking two courts for two hours on the morning of Saturday 8th March. Venue will be confirmed later. I think we will have maximum of 20 people otherwise it'll be too crowded!!

As I know, there is always free court for line judges Sat morning in NIA for about 2 hrs, but only at practising court which is underground. You guys could try to book courts in uni nearby, like Aston Uni. If you guys know exactly how many courts and how long, I would try to ask for it. Is Alvin gege coming this year? I know Elwin is coming. If you guys need to book hotel, I can also help. Just let me know. PM me.

I am there for QF, SF and Finals day and am in Block 3 lower.
I am very excited and can't wait for Friday!

On the tickets it says no photography of any kind is allowed, so I didn't take a camera last year, but I am going to take it this year.
Did anyone have any problems taking pictures last year? :confused:

I took a camera (you have to smuggle it in as they will tell you to hand your camera in if security see it) and had no problems except finals day when I was asked to put it away

Unfortunately, one of our group members has had to drop out the trip to AE this year...
Which means that we have some spare tickets for sale!!!
Here is what is available:
Block 4 in either row G or H

Thursday 6th March (free seating day) - £14 (ONO)
Friday 7th March (Quarter Finals) - £18 (ONO)
Saturday 8th March (Semi Finals) - £22 (ONO)

If anyone wants all 3 tickets they can have them for £45.
Please do not ask me about any other days as I don't have anymore, this is a once off....

A few of us met up and played a game on Saturday morning. I have a few pictures which I'll trim and post. I pulled a muscle in my back during the game and could barely walk after but as a result of forcing myself to go to the arena, with a lot of help from my wife, on Saturday and Sunday I can't really walk or sit for long periods now!

I wish I had warmed up properly! When my back's recovered I'll resize the pics and post them.

Sorry you got hurt with a strained back. Take a medication of muscle relaxant might help. I take Ibuprofen whenever suffering severe back problem. Hope you will get better soon and look forward to the photos.

You need to take 2-4 days at least for your current problem. Always should have enough pills at home and be prepared. The medication is 50x more effective than the hot water bottle and can get you back on your feet fast.
