The year started with a bang for the LEE's : Lee Chong Wei and now Lee Hyun Ill.

I hope it continues with the former in the ALL-England.

I think Li Mao (also Li), the pretender, also had some claim when he tango'ed with LYB in the 3rd game of the KO Finals.:D

Although not a fortune teller, my intuition tells me it is going to be a great year for the Lee's or Li's.:)

Note: Just remembered Li Yong Bo is also a Li.

Yes you may be right. He tango'ed with a chinese coach then.

There will definately be horror scene to watch if Li YongBo is there. I can't imagine looking at Li Mao fighting with the other Li.

Anyway back to topic.. so far its a good start for the Lee's. But i do hope it will keep it that way. Its not how you start but its how you end it that is more important.

Stiil, I would rather have a good start than wish for something that is not in your control later. Anyway, I know what you mean.

I am afraid Li Mao will be declared "persona non grata" by China during the Olympics in China.

Lia Mao is currently the "real" threat to China. It is Li Mao who shapes Lee Cheng Wei...and It is Li Mao who makes Lee Hyun Il as one of the most "life threatening" opponent?

LOL, does it matter coz if we want to be pedantic, Lee in cantonese (chinese dialect) is pronounced as Lae not Lee and in India, it is probably pronounced as Ree (with the roll of the tongue that Indians are very good at).:D

What I know that Indians pronounce Lee still sounded Lee.One of their ethnics groups Malayalee they pronounce the last three letters as lee.

They pronounce the words with the last "R" that they drag further e:g "four" it will sounded fourrrr.

And the way they pronounce the letter is much differents.
"A" = Yea E=Yee L=Yell M=Yam S=Yess.

When I was in the Server Administrator & Networking Course, the lecturer was from India. He pronounce SLA = Yessellay.!! I just smile, but he notice that, what to do...

Still remember in Primary school the English teacher was from India.
During spelling subject he pronounce and spell the word "apple".... Yea PP Yell Yee, = Yapple.!!!

lol. so that tells us, "lee" is not "lee" at all in many languages. the thing is, in hangeul the first character does not represent an L sound (i would need to verify this though), and koreans would always say "ee." in any case, "lee hyun il" would be roughly pronounced as ee-hyon-il.

LOL, does it matter coz if we want to be pedantic, Lee in cantonese (chinese dialect) is pronounced as Lae not Lee and in India, it is probably pronounced as Ree (with the roll of the tongue that Indians are very good at).:D

"Limau" is mandarin orange. Pronounced "gan" or "kan in Mandarin. Lots of it on sale during CNY festive season.

Oh yes, yes, this ones better - LM wanted to be as famous as 'limau" during CNY, since there're crates & crates of 'limau' being sold. Lees are buying, eating & saying 'Very nice, taste better than 'Li' (pear). Hence... the now famous incident, LM is as famous as the 'limau' fruit, better than 'Li' of Lees.

As far as I remember LCw something like that in CO 2007 NOT HK 2007.
The Star reported LCW as saying :

"Lin Dan, the world No. 1, came back from a game down to beat world No. 2 Chong Wei 9-21, 21-15, 21-15 in a pulsating contest that saw the Malaysian protesting several line-calls.
“Quite a lot of his shots were outside. Everybody could see it,” said Chong Wei, who lost last week's China Open final to Bao Chunlai.
“This also happened in the China Open final. Maybe playing in Hong Kong is the same as in China.” His claims marred an absorbing final between badminton's top two ranked players, although Chong Wei was also hampered by a knee injury he sustained in October. "
http://www.thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2007/12/3/sports/19645760&sec=sports

And another report in South Morning China post :

http://in.sports.yahoo.com/071203/137/6nz8w.html
"Playing in Hong Kong was just like playing at the China Open last week," Lee told the South China Morning Post.
"The crowds and everyone else supports the China team. This is the biggest obstacle the rest of the world will face at the Olympics next year.
"All the calls go in favour of the Chinese players," he added. "A lot of points went in favour of Lin today. It was the same last week in Guangzhou when I lost in the final. I just have to deal with it. I need to become mentally stronger before the Olympics."

It depends when the reporter intv LCW.
But the difference was when LCW said sthing similar aft CO 2007, he was critised as being mentally weak, finding excuses, all that. IN HK 2007, there was less criticism in the media cos of his knee injury, it was shown live in Msia, everybody could see he was struggling.

Other players have also complained bf abt bad line calls in post match intv... so.. would Winston consider all of those players (too tedious to list out) childish too? Esp if happens at same tourney.

And Winston_T, your quote on what LCW said is more similar to CO 2007, in which many other players, from Korean MD, MS to Thailand XD complained also. Nobody threw any rackets at anybody.
HK Open the match I can remember is Sudket/Saralee vs China XD also had bad line calls, which could have caused the Thais to lose (we'll never know now).
China Masters 2007 Kido/Setiawan also mentioned the line calls in the Indonesia press, similar vein, so? Nobody threw their rackets at people.

There are some who want to lower us to their low level ethos. They would blab anything to justify their actions - they want to make us believe that there is nothing wrong with LD's action. But the fact remains the same, LD will be punished else the game goes into disrepute.

did u ever count how many post from BC members in here, arguing that TH loss to CH in WC 06 due to the lack of stamina?

if u want to be objective, u should read this.

The score was 14-21, 21-18, 21-19 in CH's favour. Now if you think about it, it was only 2 crucial points that separate the two. Only two unforced errors that would decide the issue. Do you need a lot of stamina just to win 2 points?

if u want to be objective, u should read this.
..there are handful times where he'd won in 3 sets/games, but TH usually lost when he played in 3 sets/games (by close or large margin). And that shows 1 thing (about him and/or his opponent(s)); and one of the most glaring tourney was the 2006 Japan Open..;)
