My buddy just broke his AT 800 offensive a couple days ago and is in need a new a raquet. He wants something with the same characteristics (balance, stiffness) , it doesnt have to be yonex, and price is not important. Any ideas?

See Dinkalot's racket review. It has several rackets listed with ratings for stiffness and balance. Just look for which of the rackets match up with the AT800.

I went up from an 800Off to a 900P (I keep my 800 for especially defensive doubles games, though). The 900 feels noticeably heavier than the 800, despite both being 4U, and there is slightly more head weight. However, of all the rackets I tried (Yonex only, sadly), the 900P most closely matched the 800O's characteristics.

I would suggest D600 (SOTX), although the lenght is a little bit longer than Yonex.

I went through the same situation as you. I broke 4 AT800off 3U rackets before deciding not to use Yonex rackets anymore as they are too weak. I have been using D600 and W11i since and love the power generated by these SOTX rackets. So far, they have proven much more durable (no paint chips even after some minor clashes), although I had to get used to the extra length.

i previously used mp23 and found it good enough for me
then i tried armortec 800 of. because i usually play double and i am a smasher.
i think i have good wrist power and i always train my wrist at home
but i always hurt my right arm since i used at 800 of
was it because at 800 of is extra stiff?
