Hi

I am New to this forum so please go easy on me! I have been monitoring this forum for a while and thought it is time to make my first post :)

I currently have a Prince Raquet which is not the greates and I play up to twice a week because I am fairly busy with my Consulting Career but will like to up this to maybe 3 times a week.

I have been looking at the Yonex NS9000x, MP-99, AT900, ArcSaber10, Ashaway Kevlar 5000/600SQ. Am searching for a raquet which does not weigh a ton but also does not lack power and plan to have it re-strung at approx 23lbs with BG 80 or Ashaway String.

I mainly play Doubles due to a high turnout with Mavis 300 Shuttles but also Feathers and I can easily play at Club Level. I am quick on the court and have got great stamina and am really looking to up my game..

I also play Singles and am looking to improve on my Singles game!

So some statistics..

Height: 5ft 10
Weight: 121 lbs

1) Like playing Offensive and try to smash as much as I can and clear from the Back of the court. I have a pretty deadly smash already!

2) Power is generated as a mix from the Wrist and Arm
3) Like playing Rallys.
4) Do not drop as much as I used to but will drop if I am close to the net.
5) Backhand needs improving greatly -

Am searching for a raquet that can offer control, power, maneouvering, and durability...

Also what does the stiffness of the Raquet represent?

Any suggestions please?

Cheers,

SW

On Yonex side, I will suggest AT900t. I actually would suggest MP99 first except it has been discontinued. AT900t is good double racquet which pack a good punch. Much easier to use than AT900p IMHO.

Please demo or try out the racquet before you buy.

I would like a good all round raquet, sufficient for Singles as well otherwise I will have to purchase a separate singles racquet - which racquet would be recommended for singles?

How about the Yonex NS9000x?

Also, in terms of trying out the racquet, I am sure mainly retail outlets would not just loan the raquet to try it out or am I wrong?

i think decathlon used to loan out racquets if you put down a deposit. i don't know how much they charge for the service, whether it's still available or the range of racquets that they carry, but you could try them out.

Here's the list of well known "all around" rackets in Yonex range: AT900T, NS9000S, AT800DE, MP99. If you prefer Oval shape, I will say cab20 and cab30ms.

NS9000x to most ppl are more offensve extreme, as it's too stiff and head heavy for a lot of club level users.

Well, I do not mind purchasing a separate raquet for singles and for doubles. I have also been looking into the Ashaway Kevlar 5000 and 6000 racquets...
