View Full Version : What is the lightest, fastest and most control racket(s) in the world? john 04-08-2002, 07:12 PM Basically this is just about talking about what is the best racket in the world or the rackets that suit the following cataglorys the best: fastest, most control, lightest. Thx for all the info TDotSmAsHer 04-08-2002, 08:27 PM Theres really no "best" racquet in the world... just what works for you. However, the lightest racquet has got to be the Karakal SL-70. Nic 04-09-2002, 11:51 AM The racquet in a pro's hand nezumi 07-20-2005, 09:47 PM the best raquet ive found 4 a teenage girl would be the babolat satelite synchro raquet. ;) Jansenkzh 07-21-2005, 04:09 AM yonex nanospeed? coops241180 07-21-2005, 04:10 AM the lightest racquet i believe is the Karakal SL70.... nezumi 07-21-2005, 04:53 AM yonex nanospeed? i havnt ried the nanospeed series from yonex but i have tried several on the muscle power range and they were good but the babolat was still my preferred racquet daringkidz 07-21-2005, 05:07 AM Just wondering, exactly how light is the Karakal SL70? Arcos 07-21-2005, 05:41 AM if i'm not wrong, its 70g fanatico 07-21-2005, 07:04 AM then its not the lightest. there is a 67g ashaway racquet. though i dont know what model twobeer 07-21-2005, 08:28 AM then its not the lightest. there is a 67g ashaway racquet. though i dont know what model You don't know the model.. but you "KNOW" the weight...Doesn't sound too convincing if you ask me... Do you know the color, make-year, material, length, head-shape?? :P Maybe it was just someone who told you it was 67g, or did you measure the weight yourself? Did you own it yourself :p /Twobeer coops241180 07-21-2005, 09:27 AM yeah, i'd be interested to see this ashaway racquet too - had a look on ashaways site adn couldn't find anythnig below 75g... looked on centralsports.co.uk which has almost all the racquets to check with and the sl70 is the lightest on there.. dunno if the figures quoted are strung or unstrung.. i know the 70g weight quoted by karakal is unstrung, but that's the figure cenrtralsports quote too... hmmm Brave_Turtle 07-21-2005, 03:30 PM If im not wrong the Sl-70 is also shorter than regular racquet Glacier5000 07-21-2005, 08:36 PM Anybody actually used a digital scale to weigh the actual weight of the racquets? I have. I've found out that the stated weight sometimes doesn't factor in the weight of the factory grip or overgrip. The Karakal overgrip I used can add up to an extra 15 grams onto the racquet. daringkidz 07-22-2005, 07:03 AM if i'm not wrong, its 70g  Omg...that is VERY light... silentlight 08-02-2005, 04:43 PM  Omg...that is VERY light... Not really, my cousin is selling the racquet, we've both tried it and it doesn't feel particularly light. I've tried other Karakal racquets as well and I, personally, did not like them, they felt hollow on impact, at least the ones I've tested. DinkAlot 08-02-2005, 05:25 PM yonex nanospeed? Yonex's Nanospeed isn't even close. :p There are some really light rackets out there, many which have been mentioned. Some other light rackets are the Kason Lepton and Carvel. coops241180 08-02-2005, 05:28 PM Not really, my cousin is selling the racquet, we've both tried it and it doesn't feel particularly light. Brave_Turtle 08-02-2005, 11:45 PM isnt black knight releasing a new 75g racket too?...has anyone tried it b4?? The BK 2008 is 75g hahahalol 08-02-2005, 11:49 PM The BK 2008 is 75g oh really??..maybe i shud give that a try...i love lite rackets..but i was tlkign about the bk Photon??...any reviews on it? chickenpoodle 08-04-2005, 03:07 AM i've used scales to measure my racquets... three carlton airblade superlites, with bg66 and bg85 hybrid strings, and yonex supergrap over the original grip, weighs in at 86g. the claimed weight for these racquets is 81g from carlton. a cab21sp with bg66 and bg85, and supergrap as well, scales in at 96g. weight claims by manufacturers never include strings and grip. the oem grip on the airblades are rather thin, almost as thin as the supergrap themselves, so should be quite light. so the two grips, plus the strings can equal to about 5g, reasonably. i can try stripping the grip and putting them on the scale again when the strings break. and black knight has a few racquets that are new, under 80g. the ghost has been mentioned here on a few occasions, and is one of them. |
