Is anyone going to attend the badminton olympics personally? After watching the candian nationals recored live, i would really like to see some high level badminton matches in a different camera angle than the usual TV one, not to mention how much better quality it will be.

Please if anyone is going to be attending the olympics, invest in a HD camcorder and share the vids with us here at BC!

different camera angle = yes
better quality, as in picture quality, than the ones shown on tv = no way, jose..
..imo, only worthwhile recordings will be those matches which won't be shown on regular tv/cable broadcasts..

The doubles game from a private camera in HKO 06 (I think?) was pretty nice quality!

I agree.. if the quality in the tv station is worse than the Videocams we carry.. i think the stations better replace their equipments instead. I did manage to record some matches using videocam either from courtside or normal view.. but i cant find a way to upload a good quality picture.

..ants, to upload your good/high quality recordings to share w/others, you have to upload the original recording to a file hosting site, e.g. mediafire (yes, as big as they are). Uploading it to youtube or google video will definitely cause it to lose its quality. If it's too big of a file, you can split the original file into several smaller files, using programs such as HJSplit or FreeSplit.
Or if you want, you can try converting/compressing the original recording down to a different format (DIVX??), but at the same time still maintain or not lose much of its quality. However, i'm not sure what (good) program(s) to use to compress, yet still maintain the quality of the original file:p>>>ask the guys in the Tournament Video Sharing sub-forum..;)

AutoGK is quite easy to convert videos! I've never had any previous experience with this, but I managed to get around it quite well (not badminton videos unfortunately... the only ones I have are VHS).
