but i think need to pay..

I saw the advertisement: sunset and vine....it is in LA...new junction...hm is that US based TV? did not see we have to pay...

qualifying...... free for view = free of charge
after that, not mention that is free = pls pay to view
video on demand = definitely need to pay.....;)
same as the traffic sign, no u-turn sign, cant make u-turn.....:p

Yep i got an e-mail from Badminton England today introducing me to this new badminton broadband TV, (good idea) but this is what they have written about it

After many months of discussions and planning, I am delighted to announce the launch of our new broadband TV service - planetbadminton.tv (http://planetbadminton.tv/). This has been made possible through our relationship with Sunset + Vine, our current TV Sales and Production partner.

planetbadminton offers live on demand, pay per view and also access to archive. We will also be launching a subscription service after the All England. It allows anyone, anywhere in the world to view the All England and we are also currently discussing the building of further content with the aim of having one of the best broadband sports channels.

The web address is www.planetbadminton.tv (http://www.planetbadminton.tv/) and this currently lists what we are showing. We kick off with free streaming on Tuesday before Pay per View comes into effect from Wednesday onwards. Please note that due to our current TV contract with Sky, we are unable to broadcast streaming live from the 1/4 finals onwards.

We have also launched a promo on You Tube which can be seen by clicking onto http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mj4HfD3Gotw&feature=user

This is a massive step forwards for us as we continue to develop greater exposure for our sport. It also offers us a significant revenue stream.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone, in whatever role you have played, in the preparation of this years All England.

I can't wait to get to Birmingham on Tuesday and to enjoy another fantastic Championships.

Looks nice and clear, but there is no alternative view/angle beside the center view.

The streaming is quite smooth.

Never mind the boring fixed angle and missing replays, reverse angles and close-ups ... for those who were not online at time I made some test recordings... also using Real Player and the format is .irv (internet video recording :D, grin means irv in Estonian :D)... not sure if or what other players can do with that one:( ...

Any comments are welcome... I had recorded the 2nd session "as is" also... in reality I was in training and my son switched it to recording 1-2 minutes after the session started... probably also the 2nd court but haven't had time to look and check so far... it's 455MB so if anybody is interested and can use I can upload it in the same way...

when looking Live and checking the Live Score the video was little bit late... but that was only way to keep the score updated... when I looked those just now then Real Player showed it like slo-mo but maybe I need to make restart to my PC... but maybe it's normal for such streaming appearences...

what annoying me is: it only broadcast games on Court2, and can't select game on your decision.

So far it was free... archive/first days wanted the payment but to watch it was free... another problem is of you can get a stream... today stopped stream to upload some files during the pause but later it was just buffering and buffering and didn't catch the stream at all any more:(...
maybe too many people were already watching or whatever communication problems...

Anyway an excellent idea and the content was getting better with every day... good commenting and more angles and cameras were used during the 3rd day:)

It is actually not free, but the price is very low and the quality is very good.

One problem is: it only cover the games on court 2, so you may not be able to watch the game of your favorite player. anyway, better than nothing.

Here the screenshot how I see it... if you are going to top edge there appears a special bar for downloading and also with right click on streaming window there appears on lower bar the download option... I have installed Real Plaeyer so I am not sure if it works the same way with other players...
