ye333
03-06-2008, 04:00 PM
I remember you described TH as "training hard". I think you should add "(by his own standard)" after that. :D

Simon is not in AE...
TH realized that his fitness is a problem....when I was in Jakarta...visited training centre 3 times..I was surprised to see TH there all the time....

samuel882
03-06-2008, 04:01 PM

abedeng
03-06-2008, 04:03 PM
Nova/Lilyana looking better now, only a point behind.

Wonder what's so special about the Danes tactics that make it difficult for the World Champs? Flandy/Vita don't have so much problems.

Birdwood
03-06-2008, 04:03 PM
It is amazing that HK players stunned world number 1 in WS and MD.........

Since the MD pair is not really made in HK so I'd say it may not truly reflect HK's own strength.

madbad
03-06-2008, 04:03 PM
phew, glad WMC made it to QF. She has to step up her game against the Korean tomm

The way that Hwang played today against Yippy, WMC will find it tough... really tough

ye333
03-06-2008, 04:04 PM
I think they've been playing for HK for quite many years, so HK should at least get half credit.

Since the MD pair is not really made in HK so I'd say it may not truly reflect HK's own strength.

The way that Hwang played today against Yippy, WMC will find it tough... really tough

WMC always finds it tough against Koreans, incompatible playing style, maybe.

She lost to Lee Yun Hwa in the Asian Games and this year's Korea Super Series, and to Hwang Hye Youn in an invitational tournament the weekend before she won China Open.

03-06-2008, 04:07 PM

abedeng

Why? I thought WMC is the favor to win. Never seen JYJ before.

JYJ was once the 3rd best WS behind XXF and ZN, lost that spot when she became the 1st CHN WS to lose to WMC about 3 years ago.

there will be only 2 seeded contestants in MD QF, Alvent/Luluk (8), and Choong/Lee (4), and both will face each other to qualify to SF..so there will be only 1 seeded MD pair in SF..how interesting All England :D

Xu wins against a physically beat up Jun in 33 mins. I don't think she has an ounce of energy left in her to give. No matter, I'll still be supporting her big time. Take a good rest and get ready for the next tournament :)

Just woke up and saw the carnage
What a disastrous night for Team China :o

Who would expect Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun to lose out to an Indonesian born Hong Kong pair Albertus Susanto Njoto/Yohan Wiratama Hadikusumo they have beaten so easily so many times

As I expected, only Lu Lan survived last night's ordeal, thanks to the Walkover.

Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi also lost in 3 tight sets to Shuichi Sakamoto/Shintaro Ikeda.

taufik also said that “I don't like to play this guy. It's always difficult and we go to three games all the time. Last time he beat me and this time, I really thought I would lose," Taufik said after winning. I told myself I have to win and I took it step by step to finally win it, but it was really a crazy match."

I am interested in ye333's comments on Fu/Cai's loss yesterday :)
A case of overconfidence perhaps on the Chinese pair ?

For myself, I also thought that there was basically NO WAY for the Hong Kong pair to beat Fu/Cai, which seldom showed vulnerability to the lesser opponents. However, it did happen yesterday :o
