So a few weeks ago I broke my old racket (some Sports Toto racket
that's probably 7-10 years old now, it was my cousin's old one, it is
90% graphite 10% fiberglass, weighs 100g w/ string & grip). The frame
cracked I think because it was getting old and fragile (the paint was
chipping, and I replaced all the gromets and restrung it at 21 pounds
with BG85 about a year ago). That racket was very nice (felt headlight)
but I couldn't seem to generate much power from it (maybe too headlight?).I couldn't exactly clear from baseline to baseline (probably 90% of the way with enormous effort).

Right now, I'm using my friend's Yonex MP30. It weights 95g including 23lb BG65 strings & grip). I like it very much and I can pretty easily clear baseline to baseline with it. Although it's supposedly normal balance, it feels more headlight to me which I like (I'm more of a defensive player).

Right now, I'm wondering what racket I should buy now. So far with my
experience with it, I like the Muscle Power series. The MP99 is pretty
popular, but I've heard that it's a little headheavy, so I don't
really want that. The nanospeeds are headlight, but I've heard that
they break easily and aren't that good...

About Me: male, on high school badminton team, defensive player. I
dunno if this is weird, but I hold the racket very high on the handle
(around where the handle connects to the shaft - near the triangular
connecting point) and I also use my wrists a lot.

What I would like: basically quick defensive racket (normal balance
that leans towards headlight) but I don't really want to sacrafice too
much power. I think a stiff flex like the MP30 would be good. Is there
anything similar or higher end than the MP30? I don't know if I should buy a MP30.

Please give me suggestions (sorry if this post is super long -_-').

Thank you, Jacob :)

Yup, if you like the MP30, go for it! But I'm not sure whether it's available in the Sates or not. Here are some other racquets you might want to try too..
Mp29, Mp40 (JP), NS7000, NS7700, or maybe the NS8000, which is a good all-round racquet. The NS6000 might also suit you, but the shaft is flexible.

this pic can help u decide, the negative Y axis is headlight

positive Y axis is headheavy

if u like the MP30 get it.

HI Jacob,
I will say any mid or lower range full graphite MP will do the job. If you really want a newer and higher end racquet, NS4500 or NS6000 are very good choice. Also NCTuff9 is a good choice. Please make sure you demo these racquets before you make any decision.

Isnt the NCTuff9 head-heavy though?

No, it is between balance and head light. Demo it to see if you like it.

Ah thank you for the image (and for translating it). Can anyone tell me what the x-axis means?

How is the Armortec series? Has anyone tried the Yonex Armortec 800 DF? It looks pretty good from the specs. Is the Arcsaber series good too?
Unfortunately, I don't really like the nanospeed series since I've heard that you can't really generate much power and they break easily...
My friend says that YangYang makes rackets that are pretty similar to Yonex ones except they're cheaper. Any feedback? How's the Yang-Yang Nano Sensation 100?

Please also recommend any defensive rackets which you have good control and can generate a lot of power.
Thanks alot for all the replies.
Jacob

X-axis: left=control player(slower playing style), right=fast/quick playing style. Rather hard to translate..
AT800DF is pretty good. Defensive racquet, but doesnt lack the attacking power either.
