Hi, first post :p. im looking for some suggestions on a badminton racquet, heres my style of play:
Singles player
Good smash compared to most of the better players in my grade.
Like to do alot of drop shots from pretty much everywhere to get my opponet running.
can clear to the back of the opponets court from pretty much anywhere But the very back of my court. can also clear good with backhand
very good backhand better then alot of the better players in my grade.
also im like this when im using a winston racquet that my mom bought for me at about 40$ canadian. also if you need more details on something just tell me thanks

its good, can return smash's better then most people with my backhand, forehand i always have had trouble with returns from it, but i'm trying to improve it.. overall my defense is pretty good

hm it sounds to me that you think you can cover all aspects well. where do you find you're weaker, in general?

well, compared to my people in my grade everythingis pretty much all good, but i need work on my forehand return and some work on my jump smash i want it more powerfull and maybe overhead clear from the very back of my court.

okay, well in that case, i would recommend the Gosen Roots Gavun Aermet 5700.
It is sturdy, cheeper than Yonex (but just as effective, if not better), and has a t-joint kick point for explosive power.

the ProKennex Dynamic 800D is also a hella killer racket. can't believe i almost forgot that.
aside from that, look at the SOTX woven series too (but not the woven 8, different feel, 10 mm shorter too, defence based)

also what type of string do you guys recommend? i think i might order it from badmintonalley.com

it's easier to start with strings slightly looser. probably yonex bg-80's at 22 or 23 lbs. if you advance, upgrade to bg-85's at 24 pounds.
what was your previous racket?

Another brand that offers good quality at lower cost is Victor. If you're aiming to improve your defense, a light- or even-balanced racket would help. Victor Superwaves 31 (stiff) and 32 (medium stiff) fit the bill.

Without this info one is just guessing as to what racket might be best suited for you...Generally the top line Yonex rackets are suited for players with good technique basically meaning they hit the shuttle in the sweet spot all the time...they are not forgiving rackets...also they are very stiff shaft and if the racket you have been using is flexible then you will have trouble with adjusting....right now your play is good with the wilson so try to copy the shaft stiffness and head weight (balance point)....Your best bet is to borrow other rackets for a test before choosing one;)

Id recommend something in the sotx line or the victor lines. IMO, give the Victor 12 a go, i think its one of the best all around rackets based on its cost( low compared to Yonex) and its very durable. But yeah, regarding to the post above, do you use more arm or wrist in your shots in general?

Ah, I mean, A-grade ? B-grade ? C-grade ? D-grade.. ?
Oh well anyway.. here's my advice.
No matter what, dont get a really high-end racquet because it wont benifit you much. Go for one which 'feels' good to you.
