Ronald Susilo vs Przemyslaw Wacha: Ronald’s stamina has been tested playing back to back rubber game. Wacha hadn’t have much problem disposing 2 players from the qualifying round so it’s hard to gauge his performance (he did dispose of WCH easily in AE). Wacha wins it in rubber game

Kenneth Jonasenn vs Lee Chong Wei: The aging Dane has once again fulfill his seed to reach Quarter Final and is eyeing opportunity to enter the top 4 of world ranking. But despite a somewhat shaky performance by MAS #1 shuttlers, excpect LCW to finish it in straight sets.

Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto Chandra vs Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif/Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tahari: Luluk/Alvent seemd to be in form and hasn’t been troubled much in their two previous matches. Fuzzzy pair surprisingly knock out KKK/TBH (in straight sets nevertheless!) and does have favorable records against the INA pair. Expect a rubber game that can go either way, but Fuzzzy pair will have an advantage due to their win today.

U might call this reason stupid...but for Team INA: they will rather let the players duke it out to find out who's the real winner because it will concern their future as well, esp with the new era of sponsors for individual player/pair. Unless the players are really injured, which are valid reasons, the coaches see no basis for walkovers in our case.

To cut lots of writings about the results of yesterday's matches involving Chinese XD pairs, the journalist asked Zheng Bo whether his injury affected his performance in the match against Chen Hung-Ling/Chou Chia-Chi and Zheng Bo admitted to it, claiming that he never even smashed the bird in the first set (是跟我的伤有关系啊，我都没有杀球)。 That's why the scoreline was so close, with the Chinese pair winning it 22-20.

Incidentally, his waist injury was almost similar to Chen Jin's and Zheng Bo even said that he wasn't even willing to play yesterday (腰受伤了，跟陈金的那个差不多，昨天晚上就不想打了)。

No, if you are defending champion, you tend to have a net loss if you fail to defend the title.

If you did not participate, the old All-England points will be overwritten by the 11th best points haul, still a net loss.

Points won for any tournament this year (including the AE and Swiss Opens) will substitute the one last year since last years' points will be dropped and replaced by the points gained for this year.

Last week, Zheng/Gao were only ahead by 2000++ pts. However, they did not receive any extra points since they had to defend their AE title. If they lost last Sunday, their points will drop even further.

Whereas, Nova/Butet had nothing to defend and received 7800 pts as runners-up. This will receive and replace the 5040 pts from Malaysia Open QF (their 10th best result) and so, they obtain 2760 additional points, which allow them to surpass Zheng/Gao.

It's funny how people don't understand, that as soon as the walkover was announced, team China's goal has already accomplished... anything progress after is already a bonus.
