Had a AT500 strung at 26lb with BG66 and felt too soft and not "solid feel". Any AT500 user can share their string type experience to make the string bed more "solid feel"?

is that real 26lbs?
do your stringer calibrates the stringing machine?
pre-stretch bg66?
if everything are ok.
maybe should consider bg-80, bg-85 or bg-65ti.

Yes i believe it is 26lb cos my friend had his MP99 strung at the same time at 25lb but hit likes it is 3lb harder. Pre-stretch bg66 might be a possiblilty though! The current string bed seem way too soft when i smash and doesnt feel solid to me. On the other hand i am not sure if it is better to strung it even higher and AT500 frame can take it. I know AT500 is not a stiff racket though.

I really don't think BG66 @ 26lb can be anywhere near "soft". I would mostly switch to another reputable stringer, then see the difference.

77suns,
I have an AT500 as well, and I had it strung with Bg-80 at 23 lbs. I love the bg-80 strings. I think that those strings strung at 22-24 lbs is a pretty good combo.

I have my AT500 strung with BG-80 @ 24 lbs. It feels much more "solid" and "explosive" than my MP21 factory pre-strung @ whatever. It's also more demanding on my wrist though, so I don't/can't use it for the entire session.
I warm up with MP21 at the beginning, play with AT500, and switch back to MP21 towards the end of a 3-hour session.

Both BG-80 and BG-68Ti @ 24 lbs goes really well with my AT500.

Ive always stuck with bg 65s and at 24lbs I find it pretty awesome :P, but string tension i find is often subjective.

My heavy head ashaway racket is BG65Ti and strung at 24 too so that can be my choice too.

I supposed that it's the stringer's problem.Did u string it in the same place as ur friend strung his?If not, then maybe the tension standards or the stringer's skill between those two place differs.I used to have the same probs with the stringing as well.Back then,26 felt like 22,23lbs.I ended up cutting them n restring it again. But those r fixed by the time i found a better place to string my rackets.

Then - BG66 at 26lb, 4 knots (played 8 hours before confirming change)
Now - BG65 at 25lb, 2 knots
The feeling now so so much better and can be better!:D My new stringer felt the BG66 bed was about 22-23lb only, said it might be due to the drop of tieing 4 knots....
The main difference this time is thicker string give a sweet spot ( cos it is not so tight?!) that is so much bigger and better feel. i will definitly play it up to 27lb or maybe try BG65TI the next time.
One other thing: I discover a very ripple grip( lots high and low valley: below the top grip put a overgrip below at half inch width and spaced out half inch) provide an excellent grip for power!:)
