maybe it has been hacked
Heong 03-22-2008, 06:57 PM wow, im not the first to find this problem lol.
yesterday i went to www.google.com (http://www.google.com) & searched Badminton World Federation & it sez 'enter at your own risk'. So i exit google and just went to the website directly & nothing happened, just a lil lag lol.
event 03-22-2008, 07:49 PM This doesn't surprise me. I have occasionally been experiencing some very slow load times with the site and sometimes message in the status bar "Transferring data from [site]" has some very suspicious-looking SPAM-style site names. Virus software hasn't complained, though.
I just checked, the site it transfers data from is hhipthr.com. What would that have to do with badminton? The first time in a day that I access it, it nearly hangs my computer. I just got the "virtual memory low" error.
nummertwente 03-22-2008, 09:28 PM A couple weeks ago, I got hit with a really nasty password-stealing root-kit trojan when I tried to go to the Yumao Club website. Used my plethora of PC security software to remove it, but not without ruining my registry. Had to reinstall windows.
Here's the fun part: got a call from my bank this week that my debit card and PIN had been used to make a fraudulent deposit & withdrawal from my account. Had to go to my branch to get a new account. Not fun.
jhirata 03-22-2008, 10:05 PM Wonder what will happen if BC gets infected..
Tsumaranai 03-22-2008, 10:19 PM Well, I posted a problem with the site a while ago, but there was little response.

martin8768 03-22-2008, 11:36 PM whao the BWF site got hacked and sends you a trojan? thats not good at all
jhirata 03-22-2008, 11:43 PM the old bwf site had no problems..
Smichz 03-23-2008, 02:51 AM that's nasty!!..hopefully it can be fixed in no time..
markham player 03-23-2008, 01:53 PM Same here. I checked current ranking from this site recently & a message poped up asking if I wanted to install or block a small progrom called "ie-le.exe" etc. It was very suspicious & I blocked the installation otherwise it would have been my computer being bombed.
Take care!
Loopy 03-24-2008, 09:52 AM Not sure if it's been hacked, but the site does act suspicious.
My firewall even picked up from the bwf website a suspicious app that wanted to do some keylogging
event 04-04-2008, 04:54 AM Now, it practically hangs my computer when it's Transferring data from glasthr.com
The workaround I use is to bookmark the rankings page and never visit the homepage. This seems to work.
Loopy 04-04-2008, 02:34 PM event, what's the ranking page address ?
ctjcad 04-04-2008, 06:12 PM ..appreciate for letting all of us know abt this!
chris-ccc 04-04-2008, 06:37 PM what's the ranking page address ?
.
Hi Loopy,
The BWF World Ranking page address that I have been using has no problem with it. Probably because I have bookmarked it?:confused::confused:
Yes, I go to it via my bookmarking. The address is located at:
http://www.internationalbadminton.org/ranking_ms.asp?id1=1
Cheers... chris@ccc

event 04-04-2008, 10:23 PM The BWF World Ranking page address that I have been using has no problem with it. Probably because I have bookmarked it?I would certainly say that's the reason. I access the site with the basic ranking page (http://www.internationalbadminton.org/ranking.asp) but then I can use anything on the site without it grinding to a halt or showing me that it's accessing some obscure, dangerous-sounding website.
I think the problem with the site is limited to the homepage. Possibly the hacking was specific to the new photo gallery or video clip function or something? I'm not sure but it's when the site is opening those that it starts to download from glasthr or hhipthr or whatever.
yy_ling 04-04-2008, 11:42 PM i think its a bug,
newjazz 08-16-2008, 01:01 PM boohoo.. it's really sux...
i was just trying to browse this site and i got this on my screen....
i m wondering whether BWF have someone maintaining their site/server.
newjazz 08-16-2008, 01:06 PM this is seems to be the answer why that massage appear: (omg.. so many malicious software :eek::eek:)

Oldhand 08-16-2008, 02:05 PM As a precaution, I browse the BWF site only on a Mac.
These malicious executables are all Windows malware ;)
It's amazing that these people don't maintain their site.
A visitor would assume this is how the BWF manages badminton as well :(
extremenanopowe 08-17-2008, 11:43 AM hmmmmmm........ not a good sign. Ask them to pay me to maintain it man. cheap cheap...
newjazz 08-17-2008, 08:36 PM hmmmmmm........ not a good sign. Ask them to pay me to maintain it man. cheap cheap...
yeah man.. really not a good sign... not only becoz of those viruses... i think its web design also not that good...
they really need to budget a little bit amount of money to make it look more professional.... i don't mind to 'help' out :D
event 10-02-2008, 08:06 PM Just an update on this. It seems to me that the BWF has been doing some site housecleaning. I don't know about any of you, but I have been finding intermittent instances of entire functions missing and then they come back a few days later. For example, a few weeks ago all the archived results were missing and the links completely dead. Now some seem to be back. Yesterday, no player histories were available at all and now they're back.
However, the big change is that Google no longer is listing the site as suspicious (http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://www.internationalbadminton.org/). It says "the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 09/09/2008." Good news. It has even given Firefox a site-specific icon that is now in my bookmarks (Firefox 3, on my other computer, gave the site a "no entry" sign icon)
By the way, moderators, could this thread be merged with this one (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59126) as the topics are identical?
ctjcad 10-02-2008, 11:26 PM ..the folks at BWF have been reading all the complaints in BC..
