Anyone is coming to Singapore for the AVIVA Open? Hopefully I get a chance to meet few "famous" BCers :p:D Uncle Loh will be the ambassador and I'll be the assistant?:D

Maybe me. As usual if I go, it will be from q-finals onwards, driving by car.
Hopefully the jam caused by additional security checks at the immigration gates would have been ok by then.

Dear Abedeng,
I hope that by that time everything is back to normal. It is great to have more Malaysian BC to rock my stadium like what Famemas supporters had done last year during the semis and the final. The atmosphere was great and I was a part of the supporters club.Hope to see you there.

What is this about very young and younger ppl than me, that they are not willing to maximize on their passports?
Malaysian passports are not cheap, u know, almost double that of Singapore passports. Waste of money if you don't fill it up with immigration stamps .....

Remember you tried to convince Aza & me to go TC, passport already expired lah, expired for a couple of years. Nowdays, cant have different passport for Spore. Then there's also the thing of expense involved, remember I already made the calculations, hotel stay + passport renewal + tickets = RM1,000 = not possible under any circumstances. RM1,000 can pay for a quite a number of bills.
I would even consider going up KL to watch Msia Open to be expensive (+hotel stay)
He he, very hard to convince an eagle, eagle good at flying away.;):p

This thing you call expense, is of such insignificance. Must look beyond, towards the simple things in life, we call badminton. And now that passports can be had within 24 hours, all that is needed is an application ......
Look at Uncle Loh, he's moving all the way to the Olympics, despite only being a millionaire in Indonesian currency. That's the spirit ..... :)
U could stay at Jimbo's place with our lovely Jessica, I'm sure Jimbo is willing to extend an invitation, whereby he will stay under the bridge in SG for a few days. The bridges there are clean ...... :p

RLOL, Jimbo's an elephant, smart one too, no prob staying near Selat Johor;)
(tit, tit, tit....) still not possible, applications must be paid bf passports are produced, he he he. Even with an eagle's flying skills, tickets still need to be paid for bf venturing into stadium.
If there's a Melaka or Muar Open, no prob. you just gotta try harder on convincing skills.

Hi Eagle
If I may make you a proposition to invite you to Singapore:
1. I supply the Singapore Open ticket.
2. Bro Din drives to pick you up first at Malacca before picking up tjl_vanguard (Wilson) and Jessica at JB.
3. As suggested by abedeng, you may wish to put up in jimbo's place and share a room with Jessica, whilst Wilson occupies another room. Jimbo need not have to sleep under the bridge.
Of course, this is subject to the agreement of Bro Din and young bro jimbo, which I think should be forthcoming.
How about it? After all, it is just over the weekend or so? You don't really have to take leave from work. Please consider favourably. :)

huh? chicken rice also yummy? Spore food must very hmmmm healthy & hygience (no offence to Sporeans), no MSG or spices.
Chicken rice & chicken rice ball, normal only lah, & I'm talking abt the one at Jonker walk. Dunno why so famous with non Malaccan, it's nice but not exceptional.
Satay Celup, can, unfortunately I cant find any that's very yummy anymore, maybe the 'sifu' of satay celup passed away & new generations cant dont make the spices as nice anymore.

People, this has nothing to do with big guns or small guns .... Everything to do with gathering, companionship and enjoyment of the sport.
One day, we old and quite old "supporting guns" will "retire" from "competition", younger squad is needed to maintain the BC tradition. It's a great way to keep our countries' governments in, ahem, civil terms.

30 years ago, there live werent so faced paced, nor so many other "attractions". Nor did we have online livestream, with much lesser decibels in noise, clearer & at a much cheaper rate :p:p. I couldnt have stood the noise level at Jakarta nor KL, it sounded very noisy even from tv.

Oh so sorry to hear this, Jessica. Hope you can make it the next time. Not to worry about your ticket. Once I "advertise" it to my friends, they will again rush for it. Hope to see you soon. I'm happy that I managed to see all my 3 WOW Team lady members in person, you at the ABC and Louisa and Luyi at TC/UC. Oh it will be more fun to have you at TC Jakarta! :):):)
Ya..Thank Uncle Loh for your understanding..:):)I really hope to come but no choice.Well,i believe we will definitely meet again soon and maybe with other WOW team members like Louisa and luyi.:rolleyes:Hmm,wait until i graduate in a few more years,i will surely travel along with you all.
And 30 years ago, I'm not sure we would have such great fun together:
* meeting internet friends for the first time, almost total strangers had we not chatted through BC forum and participated in Sandy's PAW games (So you can understand how disappointed we were at not being able to meet him),
* taking breakfast and supper together after packing into different taxi cabs, plus buying roadside food to share in the hotel room.
* cheering the teams and making noise in the stadium,
* passing lollipops around and being caught "on camera", and tasting Rudy's tasty home-made durian cakes, from his mother (?)
* the ever generous fastdrop "feeding" our stomachs with tid bits from time to time during the long hours in the stadium and even Henry Gunawan chipped in with a box of Chinese paus.
* and best of all playing badminton together at Krisna's Djarum badminton courts. USA versus Malaysia, Singapore/USA versus INA, and various other friendly combinations!
* the rare chance to take a group photo with kwun's BC Banner which first visited Singapore in 2004 during the Singapore Open. In between, we took many pics of each other and in groups.
Today must certainly be much more fun than 30 years ago!

Well, this seems to be a natural attraction (or addiction ?). Just go to any well-known departmental store when a 'CHEAP SALE" is on and you can be sure of a huge crowd "looking for bargains". :D:D

younger generation has to lift our BC banner high!!!!!!
the banner should've taken its second trip to SG with uncle Loh to be used in the SGO, how come we didn't think of that! :o
Kwun should sponsor a banner and t-shirts.
Kwun should sponsor a banner and t-shirts.
i think that's a good idea. however, will we have enough time to make t-shirts? if we can find a way to get t-shirt, BC will pay for the expense, no problem. if not, we can plan for the next tournament. i have mostly ran out of the old edition already though, we need to make new ones.
the banner right now is with smashie in Djarum Kudus.... hm.. anyone coming in from that area can collect from smashie?

..yeah, no one thought about that.:p Lauren could've given it to Loh, right after the TC & UC. Maybe no one knew Lauren will spend another month or so in Indonesia.:p
...hmm, maybe it could go via Hau-ge if he's going back to Indonesia (of course, the banner needs to be sent from Kudus, if Hau-ge is not planning to travel there)??..Hau-ge is planning to attend the S'pore Open SS, as far as i remember; but he could fly straight from HK??..
Or maybe, a player from Djarum Kudus can bring it with him/her, if he or she plans to play at the S'pore Open SS??..
And then it can travel back to Indonesia, again, to be unfurled in the Indonesia Open, the following week??..Of course, it'll need to be sent back to smashie54 after the end of the Indonesia Open SS...:p

that's probably the best way. good thinking chris! now we just need to match the entry list with the Kudus player. anybody know who trains in Djarum Kudus? Krisna can probably tell us really quickly.

Aiyooo, just make another banner lah - South East Asia region have one, Australia & NZ have one, Japan, China & Hong Kong have one, Europe(England, Germany, Netherlands) have one, North America (US & Canada) have one .
When BC have more members from Africa or mediteranean region, there also have one.
The banner 'travel' here & there, troublesome to make arrangement. Does it have to have Kwun's signature on it?

The original BC Banner must travel the world first and witness the most tournaments! :)
Right now Rudy and fastdrop are competing for that title of "the BC'er who has covered the most BWF tournaments worldwide". Don't know who holds the record right now? ;)
When the BC Banner is satisfied, then we can 'decentralize' according to your suggestion. :D

You're a little late. Last evening Jimbo was with us, Aileen, Jennifer and myself, to entertain Rudy at Ang Mo Kio's famous Bee Hoon crab
"restaurant".
It is just a corner coffee shop but in the evening, only the drinks stall was open with lots of round tables added to fill up all the available space. When we arrived at around 6.30 pm, we had to queue up for our turn but were lucky when a table was available in about 30 minutes.
It was worth the wait as this famous meal had certainly lived up to its name. Even a big 'friendly' rat was seen scurrying around to enjoy the taste of the leftover crab meat. :D

So it depends and unless someone from BC willing to volunteer with me for the reservation... I can give the volunteer a lift from any MRT to stadium.
