Still no updated draws yet....these are Team INA's matches for today:
There's a possibility that Pelatnas players like Alamsyah Yunus and Andreas Adityawarman might also withdraw to concentrate on the Thomas Cup MS4 selection. Good decision since they are likely to exit in the first match against Bao Chunlai and Chetan Anand anyway.
Not sure too about Fransisca Ratnasari.
Men's Doubles R32
Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae [1] vs Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan -- an uphill task for Bona/Ahsan.
Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki vs Khoo Chung Chiat/Mohd Razif Abdul Latif -- another tricky first match for Rian/Yoke.
Ross Smith/Glenn Warfe vs Anggun Nugroho/Devin Lahardi -- not sure of this one...I hope Anggun/Devin progress.
Chang Hun Pin/Chan Peng Soon vs Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi [7] -- tricky too for AG/Joko, but, nothing less than QF will be satisfying here.
Robert Blair/Richard Eidestedt vs Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya [2] -- a breeze for Tony/Candra.
Women's Doubles R32
Ng Poao Leng/Lim Yin Loo vs Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti -- Rani/Endang should beat the Malaysia Juniors.
Nathalia Christine Poluakan/Yulianti vs Shinta Mulia Sari/Yao Lei -- a tricky match, but, Lia's experience should see the INA pair through to the next round.
Jo Novita/Greysia Polii vs Chong Sock Chin/Amelia Alicia Anselly -- nothing less than a SF finish will be satisfying here for Jo/Grace.
Lita Nurlita/Nitya Krishinda earn a BYE to R16 and they could even progress to QF with a relatively easy draw in R16.
Mixed Doubles R32
Chang Hun Pin/Amelia Alicia Anselly vs Tantowi Ahmad/Yulianti -- I hope Towi/Yuli can clear their first hurdle in Hyderabad.
Kennevic Asuncion/Kennie Asuncion vs Mohd Rijal/Greysia Polii -- should be straight forward for Rijal/Grace.
Tan Wee Kiong/Woon Khe Wei vs Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita [7] -- a tricky match too for Devin/Lita.

At this rate, they do not deserve any Super Series events being awarded to them for the next 5 years :o

agree with badmania's predictions except for Jo/Greysia. Singaporeans will prove to be too strong to handle.
This tournamnet is really disaster in term of result
I can't imagine audience can actually sit in there w/o air-con and enjoy, if India can't put up a better facility might as well don't organize it. This remind me watching those oldies back in the early 80s where audiences brought their own "manual" fan while watching it ... Enjoy and suffer the same time :-)

agree with badmania's predictions except for Jo/Greysia. Singaporeans will prove to be too strong to handle.
They are on quite a bad form lately....winning only 3 matches this year (excluding the Uber Cup Qualification matches)
Malaysia SS -- R16 (losing to Du Jing/Yu Yang)
Korea SS -- R32 (losing to Vita Marissa/Lilyana Natsir)
German Open -- QF (losing to Gao Ling/Zhao Tingting)
All England SS -- R32 (losing to Lena Frier-Kristensen/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl)
Swiss SS -- R32 (losing to Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti)
On the other hand, Jo/Grace's performance are slightly better, winning 6 matches:
Malaysia SS -- R16 (losing to Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung)
Korea SS -- R32 (losing to Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti)
German Open -- QF (losing to Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung)
All England SS -- QF (losing to Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen)
Swiss SS -- R16 (losing to Gao Ling/Zhao Tingting)
I think Jo/Grace will have a slight edge over the Singaporean pair.

wow, singhzico, 6 posts in a row...
Lu Yi is a strong chalenger, but I think WCH can seal a victory
Wei Feng another Chong Wei? I remember Chong Wei amazed us years ago with an upset against Chen Hong, and has amazed us ever since. Lets hope its not a flash in the pan.

What a shocker  This will certainly land a huge blow to Chen Jin's qualification for the Olympics.
Why is CJ blowing 'hot and cold' ? CWF must have 'caught a wind in his sails'.
Another overconfident incidence perhaps?

Unlikely injury. With their TCM expertise, CHN players injury usually last 1 or 2 days.(eg LD from AE to SWO)
There are 2 possible reasons CJ can lose.
1.Not enough sleep.(That's what he claimed when he lost to Susilo in MO07)
2.No video homework done on his opponent (because there's none available on rookies or Spore's Kendrick L and Susilo)
Anyway CJ's the most important MS to watch now. The battle will move on to ABC where CHN MS job is to help pave the way for CJ and non-CHN MS job is to stop CJ.

However, it is unlikely that Chen Jin will not get to participate in the Olympics. Kenneth and Taufik, his 2 closest competitors, have little oppotunity.

Wow for Chong Wei Feng.
Xball, remember Chen Jin had to withdraw from Swiss Open due to injury, maybe not fully recover yet. But big blow for CJ in OG qualifications.
Good for CCE/CCM, hope this senior pairing can go far here. Good for the back-up MD, Chan Peng soon/Chang HP too, hope they can reach QF.

Lets say...if KJ wins European Championship.....and CJ didnt perform in ABC....i think CJ will out of No. 4 in WR......and he will not be the 3rd. Chn player to participate in Olympic 08......Thus, if KJ gets No. 4 in WR.....then CJ is gone......;)

you are right
if kenneth wins the european championships (I assume its a GP Gold event), then he will have 58502+1960 = 60462
Chen Jin has to win the ABC to match that.
However, if Kenneth does not win, even if he gets to the semifinals, Chen Jin goes to Beijing.

What they meant under Rashid Sidek means back-up squad. Not as 'popular' as TCS of course. Currently no 88. Cant imagine if Msia player lost to a player 84 rungs below them. BWF Info :
