Tsumaranai 04-09-2008, 11:35 PM When I sent them inquiries, they usually responded within a couple of days. angle409 04-10-2008, 08:48 AM When I sent them inquiries, they usually responded within a couple of days. That's unacceptable to me. In the US if a store is unresponsive like this, they would be out of business real quick. I won't be dealing with puppysports in the future. It's been 6 days now I have not heard anything from them. Zero_Cool 04-10-2008, 09:13 AM Maybe your emails went on their "junk mail" folder ??!!! The best thing is to send them email from like business/student email if possible, if not try send it from more than one account. Also, in the subject try put something more noticeable, something like "Yonex Rackets Ordered" or "Badminton - Invoice" etc.....just humble opinions... angle409 04-10-2008, 09:26 AM Maybe your emails went on their "junk mail" folder ??!!! I just sent them an email from my business email to cancel my order. I'll try to avoid dealing with stores that have no phone numer or physical address. coolhandluke 04-10-2008, 10:39 AM Sorry to hear about your experience with puppysports. For me though, it is quite the opposite. They were very responsive and I had no problems making changes to order and such. It may seem strange but it is faster (and cheaper) to get stuff from HK to my place than it is to get from CA (Badminton Alley or SDBS)! angle409 04-10-2008, 11:03 AM Sorry to hear about your experience with puppysports. It may seem strange but it is faster (and cheaper) to get stuff from HK to my place than it is to get from CA (Badminton Alley or SDBS)! SDBS was very quick in my experience. I ordered a Wilson racket from SDBS 2 months ago. I got the racket 2 days after ordering and I even ordered restringing service. The problem with SDBS is that they only carry 2-3 brands. LazyBuddy 04-10-2008, 11:50 AM I placed an order on April 4, sent the store 2 emails and by today April 9 I have not received a reply. This is really bad. I don't know puppysports myself, and I don't have any business connection with them. When dealing with oversea shops, maybe we should give a few extra days for them to reply and/or be a bit more patient. Reason being is the business culture and possible communication problem (not everyone speaks perfect English in other region). Never have to mention, email server and provider can be tricky, in case of some un-expected "filter" issues. Anyway, all I am saying is you listed 5-6 days, and 2 days are being weekends. With different time zone, you can lose another day or so. If you want to push for the transaction, try to follow up with another email and/or place a phone call, if possible. I understand your frustration, but you should know the possible "overhead" when you choose to shop oversea. It's part of the "risk" you might need to deal with. FYI, once my local club (same city) tried to send us members an email. For some reason, the email was delayed by the email provider (website host) for 2 days. Go figure... Matt 04-10-2008, 12:02 PM SDBS is garbage for failing to reply to my emails and telling me inconsistant stories. As a result, I will never purchase them and never have. Young Yang 04-10-2008, 01:09 PM I just placed an order from puppysports 1 hour ago before I read this thread. They did sent me receipt confirmation to my email account by half hour though. I hope I won't have to wait long to get my stuff. Anybody bought from them? How long do they normally ship? Btw, I'm in Indonesia. coolhandluke 04-10-2008, 01:21 PM I find that ordering and communicating through phone works the best when dealing with SDBS. Their website and email communications are lacking a bit. azzman 04-10-2008, 02:58 PM How long did it take for your orders to come in? I ordered April 2 in the morning EST. I'm in VA. Any guesses? silentheart 04-10-2008, 03:19 PM 2 weeks +/- 1 week. zmwoody 04-10-2008, 06:01 PM I received my woven 12a in about 10 days That said...... I sent it in the mail back to them 4 weeks ago with a cracked frame. I emailed them and Sotx pictures before sending and was told it would be covered under warranty. 4 weeks later they say they have not received the racket I know I should have sent certified but from USA to Hong Kong is expensive.Im not saying either way if they have received it or not. Its your decision if you want to deal with them or not. If I do get a replacement I will post that. But after 4 weeks its not looking good SilverDJ 04-10-2008, 06:27 PM i ordered from puppysports earlier this year. it took about 10 days for the racket to come in. it was a SOTX winner kinsmen 8080+. i had them string it with yonex bg85's at 24 lbs. when the racket came in, the frame was warped/bent. it was flatter on one side, and the shape of the head was ruined. they were very responsive to my emails (usually responded within a day or two), and sympathetic to my problem, but refused to take credit for the damage. i sent them pictures and they said that nothing could be determined by the pictures. they said that i could send the racket back, and "if we feel that the racket has been damaged", they would send me a replacement. hell, i wasn't going to do that. why pay twice the shipping? puppysports is crap, unreliable, and cheep (as in they will go at any cost to not spend more money than they need to). do not purchase from puppysports. angle409 04-10-2008, 06:37 PM I just found out their fax number isn't in service. So no phone #, no fax #, no address. zmwoody 04-10-2008, 07:13 PM I just found out their fax number isn't in service. So no phone #, no fax #, no address. Please send the damaged racket to : 1/F., 102A Fa Yuen Street, Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Best regards, Puppysports.com Here is where I sent my racket, Hong Kong has no zip code Good luck SilverDJ 04-11-2008, 03:41 AM yeah, from my personal experience with them, all i've gotta say is, best of luck. mcjoel 04-11-2008, 08:28 AM I bought a SOTX Woven 8 from them and 2 tubes of Aeroplane Red Label. The shipping took only 14 days from Hong Kong to Finland and that's really quick. The racquet was in a perfect condition, but instead of 2 tubes of Red Label I got 2 tubes of Green Label. They wanted me to place an other order where they could give a discount price for the tubes. So this is how they keep customers attached to their store :D b_joey 04-11-2008, 06:15 PM I bought a SOTX Woven 8 from them and 2 tubes of Aeroplane Red Label. If they sent out the wrong items to customers, they should take whole responsibility by sending them the correct ones without asking the customers to pay a penny. The way how they do business will not get people returning back to their store. SilverDJ 04-11-2008, 06:26 PM well, that's not a good way to run business. If they sent out the wrong items to customers, they should take whole responsibility by sending them the correct ones without asking the customers to pay a penny. The way how they do business will not get people returning back to their store. that's exactly the way i feel about it too! they did not take responsibility for my damaged racket, and they full well should have. b_joey 04-11-2008, 07:57 PM to be honest, if they could take full responsibility of the damaged racquet, I'm sure you will be satisfied and buy from them again in the future. Even if they are not willing to send you a replacement racquet, I would expect some sorts of compensations here instead of doing nothing but to ask you to send back the racquet to them. This is too irrepsonsible. zmwoody 04-13-2008, 08:12 PM They answer my emails with Sorry we have not recieved racket yet. 4 weeks and still waiting b_joey 04-13-2008, 08:40 PM They answer my emails with Sorry we have not recieved racket yet. 4 weeks and still waiting how did you send it? registered post? is there any tracking number? zmwoody 04-13-2008, 09:14 PM how did you send it? registered post? is there any tracking number? It was $40 to send it regular mail. I was cheap. I know. Like I said I can confirm or deny if they have received it. I have sent and recieved many items to mainland China the same way without a problem. So I know it takes a long time to get there. Young Yang 04-15-2008, 12:18 PM Puppysports really sucks!!! I had ordered a SOTX Woven7 on 10 Apr, and send them an email on Apr 12 asking them the status of my order. They replied my email 3 days later saying that the racket is currently out of stock and they will send it to me as soon as their supplier send it to them. I was so pissed off that I called my credit card company and blocked my card. Then I send them an email: "I have decided to cancel my order. Your service sucks! You took 3 days to reply my mail and you don't even have the goods on stock. I was stupid enough to even think of buying from you". I totally agree with this thread. "STAY AWAY FROM PUPPYSPORTS!!!" crashandburn 04-15-2008, 12:26 PM I seriously think that those company that do not "honour" theirs customers are STUPID. With all technology edge ear these days, if they f***ed with say few customers, that's it no more business for them. Internet world is so fast and without boundaries, one bad thing people spread the negative experience.....if they can deal with it so be it, but i personally think that these type of companies will be out of business very soon.... b_joey 04-15-2008, 02:15 PM Totally agree! if they don't have the racquet in stock, they should inform their customers accordingly at once. But not to keep this away from the customer until the customer knock your door and ask. This is so bad. Young Yang 04-15-2008, 08:54 PM If a company relies on internet sales and they don't check their email often, how are they gonna generate sales? It's not like they have a thousand emails per day...I totally agree with crashandburn that they'll be out of biz pretty soon. SilverDJ 04-16-2008, 01:07 AM hopefully this forum will spread the word accordingly. i know that when i was searching for the credibility of an online distributer, i liked to reference BC, and when you google search, this forum pops up in like the first and second hits, and so people should know to look elsewhere if they want to follow up on puppysports prior to purchasing. zmwoody 04-19-2008, 04:38 PM 5 weeks and they say they still have not recieved the racket. I contacted Sotx and asked if they could help. They did send me a woven10 . So at this point I give-up on getting the woven 12 or hearing from puppysports b_joey 04-19-2008, 11:39 PM now you know which company is trustworthy, which is not. but if they are doing business like this, they will be out of the business real soon. Good luck to them! azzman 04-20-2008, 07:57 PM I ordered a racket from puppysports a while ago. I received several emails telling me about the status of my order after 1 follow email i sent 1 week after i made my order. The got the rackets back in stock now. and they've begun to string them and send them out. I just got a tracking number last friday. The bad part was that the website did not indicate that they were out of stock and it took around 3 days after I emailed them (over a weekend i think) to reply that they were out of stock. Thus, it seems they are trying to be a reputable company but understaffed and understocked. Young Yang 04-20-2008, 09:21 PM Keep us posted if you get the racket in 1 piece! :) SilverDJ 04-20-2008, 11:54 PM Thus, it seems they are trying to be a reputable company but understaffed and understocked. What if it turned out that it was just some poor bloke working from his garage? :p Young Yang 04-21-2008, 01:28 AM What if it turned out that it was just some poor bloke working from his garage? :p Very likely! :D azzman 04-21-2008, 08:57 PM The Apple company started in some dude's garage. I'm just saying that they/he are trying to be good by making up for any inconvenience he made me go through. 2-YOTA 04-22-2008, 04:38 AM Please send the damaged racket to : 1/F., 102A Fa Yuen Street, Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Best regards, Puppysports.com Here is where I sent my racket, Hong Kong has no zip code Good luck OK, first off, I don't know anything about Puppy Sports but based on the address you supplied, for your interests, I can show you where your rackets are sent off to (and possibly coming from). In the first picture, you can see the address matching that of your records. If you check their website (www.racketshop.com.hk (http://www.racketshop.com.hk)), you will see that address is the same as yours once again. So not sure if they're operating as the same company or if Puppy Sports gets their inventory from the Racket Shop? You guys can do your own detective work. The shop itself is OK when we were there in person. There was a guy stringing up rackets but not too much customer service. They just let you wander about browsing around. They had a fairly good selection of badminton and tennis stuff there. One of the better and larger shops there in HK (though we ended up buying our badminton stuff elsewhere in the end as they didn't have what we were looking for ...). Anyways, enough of me talking, I'll let the pictures speak now. http://www3.telus.net/public/twoyota/Badminton/puppy1.jpg http://www3.telus.net/public/twoyota/Badminton/puppy2.jpg http://www3.telus.net/public/twoyota/Badminton/puppy3.jpg http://www3.telus.net/public/twoyota/Badminton/puppy4.jpg http://www3.telus.net/public/twoyota/Badminton/puppy5.jpg Young Yang 04-22-2008, 12:33 PM Just curious...How come they let you take pics inside their store? 2-YOTA 04-23-2008, 12:49 AM ... well, no one approached us to see what type of rackets we were looking for! ... and neither was there a person to ask us how we wanted to pose in our pictures either! At some other stores where there was a person to greet us (eg. Windsor Racquets in Shinjuku, Japan), I just asked them upfront if it was OK to take pictures. azzman 04-26-2008, 09:31 PM 2yota, that is some pretty cool stuff right there. It's nice to put an actual brick and mortar store with the online site. i saw some SOTX racquets in the pics. maybe one of them was/is mine! to the warped racket guy, i looked for warping as i worried about that and i found that cause of the poor paint job (not very centered and asymmetric) and assymmetrical grommet holes it looked warped. but i'm pretty sure that it was just a trick of the eyes. to potential puppysports.com customers, i got my racquet today about 3-4 weeks after i put in my order (it was out of stock). they gave me a tracking number on the 18th. so i received it in a week and a day in virginia, usa. it's true, once the package is in the US there's no more tracking (unless you pay for registered mail, maybe) Posting Date Drop-off Point Origin 18-Apr-2008 Mong Kok Post Office Mong Kok Post Office Date # Location Delivery Status 18-Apr-2008 Hong Kong Item posted. 18-Apr-2008 Hong Kong In transit. 19-Apr-2008 Hong Kong Processed for departure. 21-Apr-2008 Hong Kong The item left Hong Kong for its destination on 21-Apr-2008 21-Apr-2008 Hong Kong The item left Hong Kong for its destination on 21-Apr-2008 i also received a full racket cover and a free kimoni grip and the racket was strung to my exact specifications. i also asked for a certain weight but they dropped the ball on that one. the positives: speedy delivery once it was in stock. full racket cover. grip. good stringing. good packaging. good price! the negatives: out of stock and no way to know! took about 1-2 business days to answer first email. did not get the specified weight. all in all I rate it 4 stars out of 5 stars.
