View Full Version : Asia Badminton Championships - Day 4 - 18-April-2008
vching 04-18-2008, 09:18 AM Well, Singapore SS will be held after the Thomas cup finals ;)
Unfortunately, points don't get 'replaced', they get renewed every 52 weeks. SO07 was 6/5 last year, hence when Thomas Cup comes, it will be taken away.
vching 04-18-2008, 09:20 AM btw the 2nd Indonesian WD pair is in the OG. The Russian pair lost.
zqloy 04-18-2008, 09:26 AM Anybody saw KKK/TBH's performance? How did they fare?
limsy 04-18-2008, 09:27 AM Lee WW is 90kg:eek: Choong TF approx 85kg
so...ask rexy gave them some lose weight training...^^...if i was at my last year of badminton, and last OG...i will do anything to increase my chance to win...
their agility will increase and the stamina will increase too...and they can jump higher...
Erwin Kyoto 04-18-2008, 09:38 AM btw the 2nd Indonesian WD pair is in the OG. The Russian pair lost.
oh really...how do u get the news (the Russian lost)....:confused::confused: anyway..thanks Brother...good news for INA fans...
jimbo 04-18-2008, 09:49 AM I expect a "massacre" for Msia team today except the match between KKK/TBH vs Fuzzy.
Hafiz vs Sony (20-80):
I dont see how Mr.Yoyo could repeat his performance against BCL yesterday to win over Sony today because Sony's style of play is more defensive n rally. To beat Sony, Mr.Yoyo has to be very patience and good stamina but that's what Mr.Yoyo lacks of (stamina).
WCH vs CJ (40-60):
With OG08 slot at stake for CJ, he will be on fire to win this match. I expect a close match but CJ will prevail. I'm still proud of our uncle wong :p
KKK/TBH vs Fuzzy (N/A): whoever wins, Msia Boleh...!!! :)
LWW/CTF vs Korean (49-51):
Our uncles always have difficulties against the kimchi. Rexy should start feeding Gingseng to our uncles :D
WMC vs WangLin (40-60):
A QF for WMC is an achievement. Let's celeberate
Msia Bolehhh..........!!!!!!!!!!
Look at what I had predicted this morning...!!!
george@chongwei 04-18-2008, 10:01 AM hiaz, juz KKK/TBH left for MAS in the semi final:(
reiko80 04-18-2008, 10:11 AM hiaz, juz KKK/TBH left for MAS in the semi final:(

sweetlover 04-18-2008, 10:14 AM hiaz, juz KKK/TBH left for MAS in the semi final:(
speechless...:crying::crying::crying:
cooler 04-18-2008, 10:28 AM Without Li Mao, there's nothing LHI could do, 4-11 down.
more like, without biased line judges, nothing LHI could do
LD won the second easily 21-10
21-12 21-10, an easy meat for LD. Goes to show who should had won it at KO.
leonardklh 04-18-2008, 10:38 AM malaysian did badly today.. hope koo/tan will take the title...
badadum 04-18-2008, 10:53 AM sigh....badmania will need to confirm it, but I think INA will only have 1 WD in the OG :(
Birdwood 04-18-2008, 10:53 AM Look at what I had predicted this morning...!!!
You have a perfect prediction, but I'd say the % were done even better. At least one Msian won in BC, that's you based on solid knowledge. But on other hand, I am not sure you were Msian just based on your predictions :D
Try next time for non-Msian players, see how well you do and we will find out if you are as one of the best :)
btw, do you PAW?
Birdwood 04-18-2008, 11:08 AM malaysian did badly today.. hope koo/tan will take the title...
I'd say they did okay because some of them like WCH and HH were not supposed to be at this round, a plus for them to get this far. WMC and uncles were 50-50, lacking consistency to start with. The only surprise was the absence of LCW in QF. The fact that everyone felt the losses so terrible was because they were done on home-ground. Without home support, the scores might be farther apart. But I'm not sure if home ground has advantages sometimes. Look at CO 07, Chn players took heavy losses, but they did better elsewhere.
So don't worry, time will soon heal all the wounds and tell that the players are great once again :)

Honestly speaking, I am more familiar with Msia players only. I kinda know their style of playing. Of coz, i'm Msian and nothing could take that away
I predict CJ and Kimchi MD to win the title  No, I dont/never PAW. I dont know how it works :D
No heart to go JB watch SF tmr coz no LCW nor Boonsak

You're Msian for sure, I was kidding. But sometimes it's hard to separate what's on one's mind from what's in the heart. If you miss SF, will you still be seeing Loh and others, maybe at F? I'd guess fewer BCers would show up for any gathering now.
Birdwood 04-18-2008, 11:25 AM ya...me too...dont know how it works...
Me neither, but I looked at the day before, they seemed to have a lot of fun with even team competitions  Next time I will ask someone who knows to teach me, that should be easy for you guys ;)
george@chongwei 04-18-2008, 11:26 AM can i ask 1 question?? hope that u guys will reply me.
may i know what racquet is wong choong hann, choong tan fook and satoko suetsuna using?
their racquet is very weird to me:(

I'll be going to watch ABC as planned though I dont feel like going... Hopefully we'll have a good outing and meet up with few players
Anyway, RTM1 will air the ABC live at 2pm....
ye333 04-18-2008, 11:31 AM Even if LD beated LHI 21:0, 21:0 this time, it doesn't mean anything to previous matches.
LCW beated CJ 21:8, 21:8 in France. Does that mean there is anything fishy in AE08 SF? Or HK06 SF when LCW almost lost to CJ?
LD is half-level higher than LHI. So when LD played great but LHI just OK, we see scores like this; But that doesn't mean LHI cannot win when he is in great form while LD played just OK.
more like, without biased line judges, nothing LHI could do

Most Msian BCers are sleeping. You might have better chance later. What's the rush, getting a new racket?

nope, juz wanna know only:):)

Then why the ASAP? Maybe sleep better if you know? You are nutty :D

Do you have any idea why LHI has been off so much and so long lately since KO 08 and MO 08? Is he going back into retirement or in/out of it now? Too strange for me to figure out

the point is LHI seem to be in great form at KO, lousy forms after that in 2008 LOL.
I would even go to say LD was toying around with LHI at 08 KO and backfired because LD didn't weigh in the biased judging enough until it was too late.
If LHI got knock out in first round twice earlier this year, i wouldn't say LHI is only 1/2 level below LD, more like 0.85673 level below LD:p

It could be that LHI was fired up by home-support in KO 08. His play was near perfect, not seen again :rolleyes:
Jagdpanther 04-18-2008, 11:56 AM Overall it's a good day for INA. Except a 'little' upset as our uncles defeated Luluk/Alvent and Jo/Greysia lost.
INA first mission has been completed.
Now 2 more missions await: grab the XD and MD ABC titles.
Another mission: MS title, is complimetary.:o

The possibility of losing Jo/Greysia from competing in OG's WD is a pretty significant blow :(.
Jagdpanther 04-18-2008, 12:11 PM Unless an info saying that Russian WD pair lost is correct, we will have only Lily/Vita in OG. And honestly, I don't like it.
ye333 04-18-2008, 12:15 PM LD toying around with LHI? You must have different eyes. :D Even in the 1st game I don't think that is the correct description. Watch the match again. I guess you "simulated" it in your mind too many times. :D

according to tournamentsoftware, the russian pair is gone too...so i guess jo and greysia still got that tiny chance of going.
However its really not their fault that they lost in quarter since the tpe pair is way stronger than they are..

And that was a close one. 19-21 21-23.
Now, if the news is true, that's good to hear!

guys...do u know any additional point for JoGres after they reached QF which make them qualified for OG???
yen_saw 04-18-2008, 04:08 PM Aww bummer, i missed the whole thing :(
Aww WCH lost, that basically hand the OG ticket to CJ. Watch out for this guy he will go far in OG.
george@chongwei 04-18-2008, 10:30 PM nobody knows about the racquet?:(:(
PaulYong 04-18-2008, 11:08 PM wmc too eager to kill until she makes all the mistakes. wasted la...
Well, one may say that not everyday is a Sunday so we don't expect both LCW AND WMC to win all the time. I believe that if both players were trained separately as before, the results at the ABC would definitely have been better. Two lovebirds should be trained under different coaches. Coach Wong Tat Meng identified WMC's weakness which I believe WMC should have had concentrated on building up her strength and durability. She should not change her coach at least after the ABC and TC in May. She was able to beat the top Chinese players, so there is every reason for her not to improve her standard. Last night WMC was not herself as she was too erratic and impatient.
badMania 04-18-2008, 11:13 PM guys...do u know any additional point for JoGres after they reached QF which make them qualified for OG???
It's gonna be very very close.
If the European Mixed Team Championships is considered, then, Jo/Grace will be out. If it's not considered, then, they will be in.
