View Full Version : SOTX Goodies arrived town!!!
eguitarcoolboy 04-25-2008, 02:51 AM I just received all these from SOTX sport on Wednesday . Used a few SOTX product just beginning of these year, love everything from this brand. Thought I can promote this brand here in Wellington, New Zealand.
Racket includes Woven 5L, 7, 9, 11i; D-500, 600, 900; CP5000, 6000, 7000; Ti-8E, Ti-11+; and i have Woven 7i, 8 and 8A personally too :), will have to spend some time strininging all rackets later. Oh, I got some Shuttlecocks too. :)
Wish me luck!!!!
Dreamzz 04-25-2008, 03:39 AM nice, are all these for your own use or are you going to sell them as well?
i see sotx racquet covers are still as ugly as ever ....
:)
eguitarcoolboy 04-25-2008, 03:50 AM I am trying to sell them here in Welly. The rackets would be for demo use. I will try to write some review when I have tried them all. :) I find the cover quite nice though. At least I like it.

Agree, SOTX rackets and products are good, but racket cover and bag design is just does not look "interesting".....the marketing/designers should come up with more interesting designs:D:D
jhirata 04-25-2008, 05:26 AM YES YES YES Promote them in NewZealand and hopefully get them into the stores in Auckland too..hehe :D:D
I've heared so much good reviews on them but.. I've never actually seen them anywhere.
Good luck in promoting them.. maybe let some people at your club test them out ?
eguitarcoolboy 04-25-2008, 05:40 AM I will try my best :), if you are coming down to Welly, let me know and I can let you test the rackets. The racket looks great.
Retro_10s 04-25-2008, 05:47 AM Wow lots of stuff, you're gonna be having much fun with that kit!!!:)
I'm selling a Woven 4a at the moment if anyone's interested:D (shameless advertising sorry)
i look forward to hearing some reviews of these rackets. Especially the Ti stuff
eguitarcoolboy 04-25-2008, 05:53 AM The Ti series have a really unique design, especially at the T-join area. And the logo on the racket is the new one too. nice looking and interesting racket.
NiKYEAM 04-25-2008, 10:23 AM Did you pay for all of those stuff?!
eguitarcoolboy 04-25-2008, 04:06 PM Yes, I did. But I am sure it's all worth while. SOTX products are all quality stuff. :) love it
jhirata 04-25-2008, 04:24 PM I will try my best :), if you are coming down to Welly, let me know and I can let you test the rackets. The racket looks great.

Winex West Can 04-26-2008, 11:51 AM Eguitarcoolboy,
Congratulations on taking the step to be an official agent/reseller of SOTX products but I would suggest that you check the rules of the forum if you are a distributor, agent or reseller of badminton vendors.
eguitarcoolboy 04-26-2008, 10:28 PM oops, just read that, my bad. How can I delete or edit one post?

Sgbad 04-27-2008, 01:29 AM Hey, may i know, how does the BB201 shuttle play? Which yonex shuttle is equivalent to it?
eguitarcoolboy 04-27-2008, 01:53 AM Hi, i just tried it today. Found that it's quite durable for its price. Besides, it's really stable too. But make sure you get the speed 77 ones. The Speed 78 will be too fast if you are in Singapore. I find the #78 quite fast even in Wellington (at about 10 degrees recently...)
Cheers
eguitarcoolboy 04-27-2008, 01:54 AM And, I am not sure which yonex shuttle is equivalent to it... but it definitely plays better than the AS10 and AS20 in my opinion.

TEMPTN 04-27-2008, 02:00 AM Just text u. if my Arcsaber 10 is not to my liking i'll be trying hte SOTX range :) thanks.
eguitarcoolboy 04-27-2008, 02:39 AM No worries man, i am sure you will like the ARC10. I tried it too, it feels quite good. :)
Sgbad 04-27-2008, 03:51 AM I understand that sotx rackets come in 2#,3#,4# sizes. Which are the same as g5 in yonex?
Sgbad 04-27-2008, 03:53 AM By the way, amazing range of equipment u have!
eguitarcoolboy 04-27-2008, 03:52 PM #2 = G5 I think. All my rackets are #2. I thought it would be hard to promote a brand if I don't have a good range, that's why. :)

jchan04 04-29-2008, 09:53 PM wow!@ im ordering some SOTX stuff from China now, tell me about their shuttlecocks? I know that BB-101 is the top model, how is it? and how much of a difference is it to BB-201? I want to know becuase i would like to sell some of sotx to some club members as well.
jerby 04-30-2008, 03:00 AM I understand that sotx rackets come in 2#,3#,4# sizes. Which are the same as g5 in yonex?
sotx gripsizing goes like this:
#1 = 3 1/8 inch (3,125in)
#2 = 3 1/4
#3 = 3 3/8
#4 = 3 1/4
#x = 3 x/8 inch
My #4 matches my yonex g3, the #3's are slightly smaller than yonex g4...never had a g5 though...
eguitarcoolboy 05-01-2008, 07:01 PM #2 = G5 I think. All my rackets are #2. I thought it would be hard to promote a brand if I don't have a good range, that's why. :)

Oh, just wanna correct that some of my rackets are actually #3 and Jerry's info is correct.

Hi Jchan,
I have a few hits with the BB-201, speed 77 and 78. the #77 ones feel good, flight is pretty consistent and stable, shuttle quality is there as it lasts a while plus it spins quite nicely. However, it seems like it's a bit too light, i guess humidifying it before use would make the problem less obvious. I need to confirm that first.
I have not tried the BB-101 yet, I have given some to a local top player to try and he will get back to me next week. I shall confirm it and try that myself, then I will place some feedback here.
I have given the BB-201 speed 77 and 78 to some of the people in my club to try out. Some of them said that it flies better than the Aeroplane shuttles, some of them said it's too light to their liking. I think it really depends on what you want. If you really wanna try out, buy a few to try out first before placing a bulk order. Coz the shuttle speed and durability will be affected by the weather and temperature.
Hopefully, I can provide some review on the rackets later on. I really like the Woven 7 and 8 though, now i only understand why people always buy these rackets.

Thanks Kent,
I've had a tube of BB-101 before and to me, in my opinion, is surperior than the RSL and Victor brands that my club uses. heck i even think it's better than the aeroplane ones. tho it doesn't beat yonex. can you explain to me the difference between a heavy weighted bird and a light weight bird?
daddxd 05-02-2008, 09:04 AM o.o So #2 and #4 are the same?
Apparently #4 = 3 1/2
jerby 05-03-2008, 02:54 AM 3 4/8 = 3 1/2
sorry, my bad, a typing error....
jchan04 05-10-2008, 09:53 AM What country of orgin is SOTX from? My first impression was that it was a Chinese brand but... recently when I had my 3 tubes of birds from my contact in China... she told me that the retailer told her that SOTX is a German brand. Can anyone verify this?
wowhenryxl 05-10-2008, 10:49 AM it's a chinese brand, but for some odd reason SOTX always tries to make it seem like theyre a german brand. there was a talk about this on bc and most people felt sotx is trying to give itself a reliable image (german products=reliable top quality and chinese=cheap and terrible quality). their website doesnt even have a language setting for german, and the english can only be described as terrible engrish..... honestly to me though, as long as your products are reliable, such as woven 7,8, it doesnt matter whether its german or chinese
jerby 05-10-2008, 01:32 PM well, if you ask me, the diamondfighters and cp's are good stuff as well...
No real replacements for the w7 (all are a tad lighter), but when the w8 si discontinued, there'll be the D300 or CP5k to comfort you ;)
I'd love to see some close-ups of your w5L, Ti-8E and Ti-11+ ;)
What string is that black one? I see ti73+, cf66, cf70, bs963, but what is the other one, to the left? ti1040-65? is that 0.65mm? (do they have that in black? never knew... My catalog says silver or gold...)
eguitarcoolboy 05-10-2008, 05:24 PM em... I think SOTX is a Chinese brand. But I don't really mind coz the products are just fantastic. Love the Woven7i too.
eguitarcoolboy 05-10-2008, 05:34 PM Jerry,
It's a shame they discontinue the W8 as my girl friend likes it so much. I am still trying to restring all of the racket. But to date, i only have the W5L restrung. It plays great too. Great for defensive and net play. Very light and solid indeed. I am working on the review on W7, 7i,8,8a and 5L.
I will take some close up photo for those 3 rackets later, okay. The Ti8E and Ti11+ have the new logo on them. And it doesn't really look like the SOTX tranditional design... have you seen the old versions of these two rackets? :)
About the string, yup it is ti1040-65. It's 0.65mm. Sotx gave me the black ones, hha.. not sure if there is any other colour. I will string it on my W7 sometime today. What do you think about the ti1040-65?

darkyboy 05-16-2008, 04:01 AM heya do you play in welly central? cos i heard about these rackets and i wanna try em out, i play at the haitaitai badminton hall, if you've heard of that :|

jchan04 05-16-2008, 07:58 AM hmm do you guys like the old logo or the new logo? i think i like the older logo.
http://www.winningbadminton.com/SOTXLogo.jpg
http://www.sotxsports.com.au/skins/default_red/customer/images/sotxmainlogo2.jpg
jerby 05-16-2008, 08:33 AM I like the new one...
I never figured what the O in sotx actually was... ;)
the S is a lot more recognizable...and you can stencil it on your racket :p
Fengwei 05-16-2008, 09:09 AM Also prefer the new one. Much more destinctive than the old one. Also, the old one looked a lot like the "Bjorn Borg" tennis/fashion brand. The same circle logo.
New one is cOOl!
jerby 05-16-2008, 09:23 AM yeah, that's right...
I was puzzled when I saw the bjorn jorg thing.."what, that's not sotx....oh wait" :o
I did sometimes paint the giant O on my racket, but it looks hideous :p
jchan04 05-16-2008, 11:03 AM is there an actual stencil for SOTX? if so... where can i get one.
Fengwei 05-16-2008, 11:04 AM Maybe the closest SOTX distributor. Or Jerby might have some...
jhirata 05-16-2008, 03:24 PM Hey hey.. the new SOTX logo is shaped a bit like the Superman logo. hehe
eguitarcoolboy 05-16-2008, 08:23 PM [quote=jerby;875940]Well, I didn’t think this deserves it’s own thread..Just posting some stuff, definatly worth checking out sotx clothing!

No worries man. All good. I am ordering some too. hehe... some of them are really nice looking.
eguitarcoolboy 05-16-2008, 08:25 PM I like the new one too. :) it's cool hehe... concur the stencil on the racket too. Looks so much better.
darkyboy 05-17-2008, 02:30 AM Hi Darkyboy, Thanks for the interest. Yes I always play there. :) I might have seen you before. Which club are you in?
Kent
hey man i'm in the southern club, you know the one on wed nights used to be in the junior club :P what bout u?
david07 05-18-2008, 05:10 PM I was wondering, since the Woven series has their own bag, does the Diamond Fighter and Conmax Power/Circle Power series have their own bag?
eguitarcoolboy 05-18-2008, 07:10 PM Em... not sure, not that I know. Maybe Jerry will know. :)
eguitarcoolboy 05-19-2008, 10:54 PM Here are some pictures. :) enjoys. I will post some more pics of Ti-11+ later on. The Ti series have a metal thing near the throat area.
Sgbad 05-19-2008, 11:07 PM I was wondering, since the Woven series has their own bag, does the Diamond Fighter and Conmax Power/Circle Power series have their own bag?
Hey, Only the Woven Series have their own bag, the rest dont. Equitorboy, if you need more pics, i have some models with me. I would be glad to help you post some pictures of the rackets.
Sandy Pan 11-16-2008, 11:21 PM hey, SOTX COMMAX POWER series have also their own cover.
Sandy Pan 12-19-2008, 08:13 PM The attachment is the special cover for CP 5000
