eaglehelang 04-28-2008, 04:38 AM they will play in thailand, it's just that there's different age groups, and their group's draw is not posted online. :)
Thanks yannie, any idea if any sites post the results ? Just want to follow this Jonathan Lee's progress, since he's a fellow Malaccan. His parents are casual aquintances (casual only, dont know well).
Stimes BCers know more abt MJs than the parents, his father also cannot remember all the places he's been to compete this year.;) Poor dad, must be working hard to find $$$ to buy rackets & shuttles :).
samuel882 04-28-2008, 09:04 AM Mak Hee Chun once against pair up with teo Kok siang for the MD event:eek:
Choong SC & Lin yin Loo might withdraw from this tournament though..
samuel882 04-28-2008, 09:07 AM Trang is a beutiful place...:)

I don't think any sites will post the results, I mean they didn't even post the draw. I think I know who Jonathan is. Is he around 19 years of age and in BJSS? I have a friend who mentioned him before.. Hehe..

17 year old Chinese male, plays MS & MD. Tall, quite fair, & skinny. His reg MD partner is Iskandar Zulkarnain. I think someone posted photos of him & Iskandar during Cheers International in Spore, that's how I came to know he's from Mcca.

No, Jonathan Lee will not be playing at this Smiling Fish International Series 2008. He was beaten by Kedah’s Tang Fang Wyei, 15-21, 9-21, in the Quarter-Finals, at the boys’ Under-18 singles at Michael’s Badminton Academy in Puchong, just 4 days ago.
And Welson Lim lost to Johor's Iskandar Zulkarnain, 12-21, 13-21, also in the Quarter-Finals.

eaglehelang 04-28-2008, 11:28 AM Yannie, yup, that's him, Jonathan/Iskandar lost to Thai MD during Semis in Spore. I took notice cos it's chinese/malay combo, sure can remember.
No need sorry, his dad also said he's going to compete in Thailand, but the coaches could have changed the line up.
Chris, only the winners/runner up are going to Thailand??

Huh..i thought Lingga Lie/Fernando Kurniawan are with Djarum?
Krisna 04-30-2008, 02:22 AM Lingga and Fernando are both members of the Djarum Badminton Club. They are just stationed in the national team [Pelatnas] nowadays. Pretty much like Wayne Rooney [Manchester United] and David Beckham [L.A. Galaxy] are stationed in the English National Team for soccer/football.
**KZ** 04-30-2008, 03:11 AM jonathan lee was my primary school classmate and good friend....and I'm 17 so he's the same...:)

ah, KZ, now still friends? Jonathan's too young for me to know him personally, he looks a bit like his father & has the fairness of his mother, so me noticed. Since he's not in Thailand, next tourney then.

Yup, but only very casually, that's why now only found out Jonathan Lee from Mcca in BJSS is his son, they dont go announcing it of course :D.
Jonathan has a bro named Jeffrey? Ehem, he has quite a no of siblings, I just know no 1, 2, 3...., dunno which is which. Jonathan is older or Jeffrey older?
No wonder, his father's colleague said (mistakenly) that Lee has two sons in BJSS, only Jonathan is in BJSS, bro is not then.
leonardklh 05-01-2008, 05:37 AM any result today?
eaglehelang 05-01-2008, 06:20 AM Apparently it's in the tournament Software but mostly in Thai writing, just look at the bolded names to see non Thai win :
http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=21229
Msians : Kuan Kam Chung, Goh Soon Huat, Teo Kok Siang have won their matches.
WS = Tiffany CUrrier, VIvian Hoo, Ng Sin Er, Ng Sin Zou, Sannatasah Saniru won.
MD matches are coming up. My goodness, they are playing at 11.05 pm Thai time. WD is playing tommorrow.
And BadAddict Jr i.e Soong Joo Ven is entering the U13 group, playing at 7.45 pm Thai time.
Jagdpanther 05-01-2008, 06:33 AM Goodness. Look at those writings...
And I can't notice any INA names. Can anybody help?
eaglehelang 05-01-2008, 06:42 AM Weird, I notice didnt notice any Indonesia names either, just Thai & Msia. Msia players are noted as from BAM(Malaysia) in the draw. Should be the right tourney, it's May 1 to 6, which are the dates for this Smiling Fish Thai Satellite.
chris-ccc 05-01-2008, 06:52 AM .
And why so many 'walkovers', I wonder ???

erin_hakkinen 05-01-2008, 08:56 AM Daren starts playing tomorrow..
And unfortunately..there will be no CLQ vs Daren as CLQ
will not participate in this tournament :(
yannie 05-01-2008, 08:58 AM ... Which means that yannie won in advance again.. :D:cool:

Jonathan is the oldest among 4 siblings...well there were 4 when i left my primary school 5 yrs ago...Jeffrey is the 2nd oldest and is a Malacca state player...he also has another younger sibling which I don't think is very much interested in this sport along with a sister which is the youngest...

Wah, eldest already 17, must be that skinny kid years ago.... tsk tsk time flies.
There are 5, also a boy. The youngest is a number of years younger than the 4th kid. I'm outdated as to their ages, Jonathan, Jeffrey, no 3 are in their teens, last 2 are under 12. I dont recognize them if they dont stand together with their parents, all children > 10 wouldnt want to be tagging along with mum & dad anymore, you would know that.;):p
I'll watch out for Jeffrey Lee's progress in future too.

PlayaFromMalaya 05-02-2008, 03:52 AM goh soon huat is playing? I used to play against him last year before i quit my baddy training..guess he entered BJSS or something after he beat teo kok siang huh?

badMania 05-03-2008, 08:55 AM 3 INA XD pairs (Fernando Kurniawan/Samantha Lintang, Lingga Lie/Keshya Nurvita Hanadia, Viki Indra Okvana/Nathalia Poluakan) and 1 WS (Febby Angguni) have progressed to the QF so far.
2 more MS (Bandar Sigit Pamungkas and Indra Bagus Ade Chandra), 2 WD pairs (Annisa Wahyuni/Nimas Rani Wijayanti and Jenna Gozali and Luluk Maria Ulfa), and 4 MD pairs (Wifqi Windarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan [1], Rizky Kresnayadi Yanu/Albert Saputra [2], Lingga Lie/Fernando Kurniawan [3], and Syahmie Syarif Radhitian/Adi Chrisna Wijaya) will be playing tonight.
Jagdpanther 05-03-2008, 09:03 AM While slowly but steadily, MAS legion weakens...
5 casualties already.
badMania 05-03-2008, 09:06 AM I am quietly confident that INA could win one or two titles here (high chance in MD and XD, with the experience of the Pelatnas players).
Jagdpanther 05-03-2008, 09:12 AM I'm amazed by the great number of shuttlers BAM sent.
Wonder when will PBSI be that wealthy?:o
And it's been a while since Tournamentsoftware last update. What happened to the WS matches?

Which Indonesia pairs?
Msia has 3 XD pairs progress but I'm not familiar with them, dont remember seeing them play in GP or GP gold. Only Goh in MD, playing XD also.
MD maybe Indonesia will win, other than Goh/Ong, the rest like Teo Kok Siang/Mak Hee Chun are new pairing.
Chan Kwon Beng also play MD, I didnt know that.

PBSI/Djarum send more palyers to Euro tounys then BAM, i.e. Italy, Spain & Russia. Which MAS could not afford to pay for the expenses:o
Trang is located very near to MAS border, around 4-5 hours drive.

If Wifqi Windarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan (Laos Int Future Series and Waikato Int Series Winners) can beat Ong/Goh today, then, they can pretty much go to at least SF.
Lingga Lie (winners of a couple of Satellite events with Yulianti previously), Fernando Kurniawan (paired with Subakti before the partner left Pelatnas) and Nathalia Poluakan (winner of Vietnam Open GP event with Yulianti) are experienced XD, MD, and WD players themselves, so, they can win the XD title with their respective pairs.
samuel882 05-03-2008, 10:09 AM INA challenge in MS :
Bandar Sigit Pamungkas was down. 1 more to go : Indra Bagus
Go DAREN Ren Ren !
badMania 05-03-2008, 10:58 AM Both INA MS players are eliminated in R16 today...sigh...looks like Bandar and Indra Bagus are not good enough.
Likewise, only Chong Wei Feng qualifies for the MAS BJSS team. All others (Darren Liew, Vountus Indra Mawan, Beryno Wong, Chan Kwong Beng, Lim Fang Yang, Teo Kok Siang, Zulfadli Zulkifflli, Lok Chong Chieh, Ooi Swee Khoon, Zairul Hafiz Zainudin) all went home too.
eaglehelang 05-03-2008, 11:05 AM Chong Wei Feng is in Rashid's back up squad, same as Liew Daren, Beryno, Chan Kwong Beng, Lim Fang Yang. Wait a min, it's the same Chong WF who beat Chen Jin in India. But a bit sad also, the other back-up didnt make to join Chong.
george@chongwei 05-03-2008, 12:17 PM OMG, teo kok siang also lost their match??:(
looks lke this tournament have a lot of promising young futures in badminton:)

Women's Singles
Febby Angguni vs Megumi Taruno [2]
Women's Doubles
Annisa Wahyuni/Nimas Rani Wijayanti vs Savitree Amitpai/Vacharaporn Munkit
waja11 05-03-2008, 10:00 PM Chong Wei Feng is in Rashid's back up squad, same as Liew Daren, Beryno, Chan Kwong Beng, Lim Fang Yang. Wait a min, it's the same Chong WF who beat Chen Jin in India. But a bit sad also, the other back-up didnt make to join Chong.

Daren lost his match on yesterday's record, but he won the match again on today's record...let tournamentsoftware explain...maybe a while later it shows Daren lost again!!!
CLELY 05-04-2008, 12:53 AM INA also has 3 MD representatives in today's quarterfinal, top-seed Wifqi/Afiat, third seed Fernando/Lingga and Syarif/Chrisna.
Home players dominates MS sector to secure 5 spots of 8 including Thai future star Tanongsak who join Thomas team together with another youngster Pakkawat Vilailak.
george@chongwei 05-04-2008, 01:01 AM actually daren win or lose?
can anyone confirm it?
samuel882 05-04-2008, 01:04 AM daren won yesterday.. close match...
george@chongwei 05-04-2008, 01:04 AM daren won yesterday.. close match...
fuhhhhhhh...
thanks for the clarification.
KlasseE 05-04-2008, 01:19 AM hello any of our friends from Thailand could tell us whether there is web live streaming on semi or final?
eaglehelang 05-04-2008, 02:57 AM Liew Daren won his match yesterday..pls check in tournamentsoftware..
Like Klasse said, yesterday nite tournament software showed Liew Daren lost, that's why we stated only Chong Wei Feng won. How organiser got his score mixed up, I also dunno.
eaglehelang 05-04-2008, 09:31 AM Msia XD only Chooi/Ng progressed
Sannatasah holding the fort for WS, Chong Wei Feng for MS
KlasseE 05-04-2008, 09:57 AM how old is Chong Wei Feng?
badMania 05-04-2008, 10:46 AM As expected, Febby Angguni lost to Megumi Taruno 13-21, 11-21.
2 INA XD pairs progress to the SF with a chance for an All-INA Final on Tuesday (weird timing ). Too bad, Fernando Kurniawan/Samantha Lintang lost in a close rubber-set match 16-21, 21-14, 19-21 to Chooi Kah Ming/Ng Hui Ern.
XD SF Lineup:
Chooi Kah Ming/Ng Hui Ern vs Lingga Lie/Keshya Nurvita Hanadia
Viki Indra Okvana/Nathalia Christine Poluakan vs Hui Wai Ho/Mong Kwan Yi
badMania 05-04-2008, 09:41 PM Djarum's WD pair of Annisa Wahyuni/Nimas Rani Wijayanti lost to Savittree Amitpai/Vacharaporn Munkit, while the promising junior MD pair of Syahmie Syarif Radhitian/Adi Chrisna Wijaya pushed the more experienced Mak Hee Chun/Teo Kok Siang (where's Lim Khim Wah though ) to rubber-sets, before losing 19-21, 21-14, 15-21.
The top-seed Wifqi Windarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan cruised through to the SF after an easy 21-10, 21-12 victory over Thanes Chuchatpong/Ratslun Sansanawanee, while the third-seed Lingga Lie/Fernando Kurniawan also beat Hui Wai Ho/Lo Lok Lei 21-17, 18-21, 21-10. They will face Mak/Teo and Issara/Saensomboonsuk respectively.
MD SF Lineup:
Wifqi Windarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan [1] vs Mak Hee Chun/Teo Kok Siang -- another tough battle against experienced MAS pair and it should be a close fight.
Lingga Lie/Fernando Kurniawan [3] vs Bodinth Issara/Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk -- let's see if the 2 INA pairs can create another All-INA Final in the MD.
CLELY 05-04-2008, 11:59 PM INA chance to win title here only depends on XD and MD, try to create all-INA-final. MS field -- a battle between MAS and THA, seems Chong Wei Feng will face young talent Tanongsak tomorrow.

Chong Wei Feng & Liew Daren only 21 this year kah? That means TCS is one year older than them. Not bad, not bad, hope Chong WF will one of the MS to be promoted to senior squad aft OG.

I hope Daren also will be promoted to the senior squad after OG. I have faith in those boys.

Daren has won the MS single champion of 2006 Taipei Satellite
do you mind to share some photos of these 2 young boys?

thanks again, very sharp photos, those 3 talent youngsters...
it will be great achievement for them if they have the chance to train with LCW

Wei Feng and Daren are sometimes training with Chong Wei.. The 3 of are under Misbun, while Chun Seang is still under Rashid.
samuel882 05-05-2008, 05:02 AM Wei Feng gota chance to create upset today against Thai junior Vilailak , who stretched WCH into 3 sets during TC Qualifying in February. Its gona be very tough for Daren to topple against current Thailand MS2 Tanongsak..
PlayaFromMalaya 05-05-2008, 05:30 AM it was tanongsak who stretched choong hann to three sets during the TC qualifying
Jagdpanther 05-05-2008, 06:56 AM Yahuuu! It's an all-INA affair in the XD final!
Er... Are Lingga/Keshya and Viki/Lita members of Pelatnas squad, or are they going under their club's flag?
badMania 05-05-2008, 08:05 AM Of course those players are under Pelatnas, esp Lingga Lie, Fernando Kurniawan and Nathalia Poluakan. Viki Indra Okvana joined Pelatnas sometime last year or in 2006 if I am not wrong, while Samantha Lintang, Keshya Nurvita Hanadia, Syahmie Syarif Radhitian/Adi Chrisna Wijaya should be new members.
Wifqi Windarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan will be playing under Djarum banner for the last time as they have been recruited to Pelatnas too this year.
KlasseE 05-05-2008, 08:33 AM and it was Vilailak who stretched WCH into 3 sets during Macao Open in October 2007
Jagdpanther 05-05-2008, 09:02 AM Meanwhile, MAS failed to create an all-MAS MS final as
Pakkawat Vilailak beat Chong Wei Feng by straight sets: 21-15 21-12.
Vilailak will go against Daren Liew, who beat Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk by rubber sets: 21-18 15-21 118-21( ? Now that's strange...)
Yeah, that's right! Luckily somebody still remembers their achievements!

Which INA MS is about the same age as them?
Jagdpanther 05-05-2008, 09:08 AM Tournamentsoftware has revised the result, and the outcome is quite sad for MAS fans:
It turns out that Tanongsak beats Daren, as the third set was 21-18 for for him.
These THA juniors are quite dangerous. How old are they?
KlasseE 05-05-2008, 09:11 AM Meanwhile, MAS failed to create an all-MAS MS final as

no, they all lost.
21-18 15-21 18-21
Jagdpanther 05-05-2008, 09:14 AM no, they all lost.
21-18 15-21 18-21
Yep, I noticed that as well.
The score is quite close. It was a good match, I can tell.

Same age? Andre Kurniawan, Ari Yuli Wahyu, Tommy Sugiarto etc.
Haih.. Why MAS jrs lost.. :crying:
Jagdpanther 05-05-2008, 09:43 AM Japan has a chance to create an all-WD final tomorrow. I wonder if both pairs are pretty.:p
I've just realised that Thailand Badminton Association has its own website, although still in Thai language. And it looks like BA of THA is under a Thai Royal's patronage.
Compared that to PBSI... Last time I checked its website at www.pb-pbsi.net (http://www.pb-pbsi.net), it was an error.:o
eaglehelang 05-05-2008, 09:55 AM hiyaaa, all Msians lost. WD & MD also
Jagdpanther 05-05-2008, 09:59 AM All games have finished, and INA will surely take 2 titles since Wifqi/Afiat beat MAS' Mak HC/Teo KS 21-19 21-10 and Lingga/Fernando were given a walkover by THA's Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk/Bodinth Issara.
Whatever reason of the walkover is, I hope it's not because one of THA shuttlers suffered injury.
However, unfortunately there'll be no MAS representatives tomorrow since its only WS hope, Saniru Sannatasah, lost to the first seed, THA's Porntip Buranaprasertsuk (goodness!) in rubber-set 21-16 14-21 12-21 and WD Saniru/Vivian Kah MH lost to JAP pair, Ayaka Takahashi/Koharu Yonemoto 21-16 16-21 20-22. They will meet their compatriots Yukina Oku/Megumi Taruno, who beat home pairs Savittree Amitpai/Vacharaporn Munkit 21-16 18-21 21-18.

.
Linga/Fernando are from Djarum too and both are 21...so Djarum vs Djarum tomorrow
badMania 05-05-2008, 12:07 PM Linga/Fernando are from Djarum too and both are 21...so Djarum vs Djarum tomorrow
Both are also in Pelatnas. Mission accomplished with 2 titles back in the pocket. Wifqi/Afiat to win another Int Series title perhaps?
CLELY 05-06-2008, 12:44 AM Hmm, what a weird line-up of final match! Only WS match which will be played by two finalist from different country meanwhile the other four will show : all-INA-final (XD & MD), all-THA-final (MS) and all-JPN-final (WD).
Two titles for INA, Japan and host Thailand will use their last chance to add one more title through WS.
badMania 05-06-2008, 05:53 AM Lingga Lie collected 2 titles today in the XD (with Keshya Nurvita Hanadia) and MD (with Fernando Kurniawan).
Too bad, Wifqi Windarto/Afiat Yuris Wirawan couldn't win their second titles in two weeks.
PlayaFromMalaya 05-06-2008, 06:09 AM nvm...................
