..are so rare in places outside of Makassar (Celebes) that when one finds one, it's almost as if one finds a Gudeg in Makassar. They're simply so rich in taste and flavour but at the same time very high in cholesterol, fat and sodium....Eat 'em and take 'em at your own risk!...:p ;)
Sop Konro reminds me of Soto Ambengan (the beef version, minus the large bone)...:p

Some big guns may stay in hotel mulia as well. you can try your luck to have a drink there at the live bands. Taufiks wedding is there also.

You can also visit hariyanto arbi office next to it or have a game there. After your game, jump into the pool. Great massage, spa and gym.

Happened to bumped into Liem Swee King while staying at hotel mulia. Still having the good old lobo hair fashion.

Loh took some photos... :) We just got out of Pondok Laguna 30 minutes ago. The 4pm arrangement was cancelled because CHN-MAS: 2-2 at that time... :p

We eventually met up after the devastating 0-3 INA loss... :crying: I actually could not eat well... :crying: The last Thomas Cup victory I witnessed live was the 1996 edition in Hong Kong. These last few years, INA keep making me cry... :crying:

Most BCers were Malaysian... maybe they were not in a jolly mood either... but they got a few hours to digest their situation... Hau-ge and I were actually still shell-shocked... :crying: We can't handle this blow to our ego... :p

Don't forget about Luluk-Alven and Flandy-Vita... ;) I met both Luluk and Alven this week... They are surprisingly in very high spirits. Very looking forward to proving themselves in the Olympics. As they are from Java, Alven said, "Kita untung koq. Dapat waktu latihan extra untuk Olympic" [we are actually lucky. We had the gathering. The food was good. I'm so full. It was nice to meet Krisna and gang. Not forgetting the nice shirts too.
I'm sure both INA and Msian supporters are shell shock by the defeat of the respective teams. But my heart goes to the INA fans since their heroes are defeated in homeground. The atmosphere is electrifying. The crowd really go all out for their players. I wish my fellow countrymen can do the same too... i'm ashamed.

Loh took some photos... :) We just got out of Pondok Laguna 30 minutes ago. The 4pm arrangement was cancelled because CHN-MAS: 2-2 at that time... :p

We eventually met up after the devastating 0-3 INA loss... :crying: I actually could not eat well... :crying: The last Thomas Cup victory I witnessed live was the 1996 edition in Hong Kong. These last few years, INA keep making me cry... :crying:

Most BCers were Malaysian... maybe they were not in a jolly mood either... but they got a few hours to digest their situation... Hau-ge and I were actually still shell-shocked... :crying: We can't handle this blow to our ego... :p

i think this is the best chance for us to take the thomas cup becoz this time around was our strongest team in thomas cup..but eventually HH!!!haiz....

In team event, individual ranking has very little impact especially those who are within top 20.

I don't think this gathering will be possible without their hard work & hospitality.

A big thank you also for those from overseas who willed themselves to come here. Aside from "seasoned overseas campaigners" Loh, fastdrop, Ants, Terry and I, we had the Cat and the Kitten (who had to undergo 6 hours of "torture" aka flight delay), jimbo (always, ahem, measuring up to the players - height wise), Sam, hFang aka Aileen, hcyong, pjswift and Jen. X_Ball was here, if only so briefly, didn't get to really talk to him other than over the phone.

Got to meet Henry Gunawan, tommy_bun, Tony Cheng, Charles and Amelia for the first time, not to mention Djarum's newest recruit, smashie aka Lauren.

Best part for me was meeting the Malaysian coaches, esp Misbun Sidek who was staying at our hotel.

A bit busy and hectic on the scheduling side, but all was well and ticket/pass/dinner arrangements by Hauge/Krisna was top notch.

Misbun stayed in Sultan. His brother Rashid and Jalani stayed in Century Park hotel.
