this week i've been modifying my handle on NS7000.
it was originally G4, then i reshape it to more towards oval instead of hexagonal and also reduce its weight quite significantly.
now, the handle is smaller than YY G5
and makes it more head heavy
however i felt some vibration as a consequence
do any of you guys have experience the vibration when hitting the shuttle
how to lessen it?

thanks

forgot to ask whether any of u guys tried the vibration 'stopper' thing
for tennis on badminton racket?

Rounding the grip too much, you won't be able to tell where your racquet is facing without looking at it. To lessen the vibration, you could lower your string tension by a 1lb or two.

In addition to tension as mentioned, string type can affect vibes.
Softer feeling strings:bg65,bg66,bg6,Gosen Pro66.
Harsher/shock transmitting:Tactic TG65/68/80,fake BG65

thanks for the suggestion guys:)

i forgot to mention that i've been using yonex bg66 at 28lbs 1 piece stringing
but i'm not sure how well the stringing machine calibrated

the reason i choose this stringer is that he often took role as referee in badminton championship in indonesia and also provide stringing service within
some of championship are big ones
i remembered he told me that taufik strung at 36lbs
and he also found, japanese player/s, he didn't mention specifically, strung at relatively low tension compared to other countries player

i will try stringing at lower tension with bg66 when my current string breaks

today i just got my mp44's handle modified too, still haven't got chance to tried it out until tuesday

however i still hesitated whether i should modify the handle of my at 900t 3ug5 sp and i also got arc10 3ug5 jp coming 4th may.

guess i will find out how to overcome the vibration thing with ns7000 and mp44 first before do some more modifying

Maybe put an overgrip on, because if it's just a single layer of grip over wood, you'll get more intense vibrations.

i did wrap the wood with 3M electrical tape prior to the grip
i'm using karakal pu super grip
IMO its not good in term of durability
after it worn off, i will try wrap an overgrip
i got karakal nano 60 in stock to try:D
for overgrip, my first preference is hi-qua titanium grip
its durability is superb IMO
if you guys have access to it, i reccomend them
although at first i don't really like the brand as the racket production facility
is near my city and i know somebody working in it
but it seems that the grip are made somewhere else

i tried 2 games with modified ns7000 today
although vibration are there, it feels better than the original
as the head became heavier, my strokes feel more solid
i think i'll modified my at900t someday
still consider experimenting with weight tape

IMO modifiying the handle has the risk of broken handle as it get smaller
but the result is so far so good, though only been in 2 games
for you guys who want to try, i reccomend by not using your primary racket
for experiment after further risks are identified:D

If a racquet is stripped of all its paint it will vibrate less. Paint is just a skin, and being a skin without becoming an intergral part of the graphite material, it will create vibrations. It is like the difference in tactile feeling between a solid cricket bat made from oak vs one made from many sheets of plywood.

i remembered he told me that taufik strung at 36lbs

I find that really hard to believe. At that tension, we should have seen loads of videos of him breaking rackets and strings now. Also, the sound produced when he hits a hard shot sounds similar to LD or LCW, who definitely do not use 36lbs. I think your stringer is just bragging to you.

if you're getting shock and still playing @ 28 lbs..it is time to get some badminton lessons..or lower your tension..

Add some vibration damping tape to the top rim of racket. Head racket will become even heavier and less vibration.

how does the vibration damping tape look like?
what brand?
any picture?
