Ogura got injured and was left in Japan, also Aki Akao. Maeda/Sutseuna should become the 1st WD. Joo-Bong said Shiota will be paired with Tomomi Matsuda, Akao's partner.
Dutch complained about revised schuduled was rejected, BWF and OC keep use the revised schedule, published 7 Mei.
madbad 05-10-2008, 09:37 PM Poompat's loss to Domke has put THA in a big hole. They have to win the remaining matches now
nmy3889 05-10-2008, 09:50 PM may i ask....why mas women double LPS-NHL played as 1st doubles followed by CEH-WPT as 2nd doubles?? or is it something wrong with my eye??
wynn000 05-10-2008, 09:53 PM no they are WD2 but because NZ first women single will play WD1 also so they swap the WD2 play first

MS2 Choong Hann Wong v Rajiv Ouseph
MD2 Kien Keat Koo/Boon Heong Tan v Christopher Adcock/Christopher Langridge
MS3 Hafiz Hashim Muhammad v Ben Beckman
MAS going for their strongest combination... wonder how they will select for the KOR match...hmmm ... ;):cool:
samuel882 05-10-2008, 10:45 PM as expected... MAS always being conservative about their line-up...
sigh... no chance for Arif in action :(
madbad 05-10-2008, 10:47 PM The big JPN v INA match lineups:
WS1 Eriko Hirose v Maria Kristin
WD1 Satoko Suetsuna/Miyuki Maeda v Lilyana Natsir/Vita Marissa
WS2 Yu Hirayama v Adriyanti Firdasari
WD2 Reiko Shiota/Tomomi Matsuda v Greysia Polii/Jo Novita
WS3 Kaori Mori v Pia Zebadiah
Look at WD2... Reiko and Tomomi :eek:. No Kumiko

MS1 Chong Wei Lee v Andrew Smith
MD1 Wan Wah Lee/Tan Fook Choong v Robert Adcock/Robin Middleton
MS2 Choong Hann Wong v Rajiv Ouseph
MD2 Kien Keat Koo/Boon Heong Tan v Christopher Adcock/Christopher Langridge
MS3 Hafiz Hashim Muhammad v Ben Beckman
MAS going for their strongest combination... wonder how they will select for the KOR match...hmmm ... ;):cool:
I think LCW should not have to play -- play Arif. We would still get away with a 3-0 win.
jimbo 05-10-2008, 10:49 PM as expected... MAS always being conservative about their line-up...
sigh... no chance for Arif in action :(
yeah lor... why msia so "kiasu"??? they should field the youngsters arif  With all respect to England team, I dont see how Msia would crumple
Relak lah... YKH and Rexy :D
vching 05-10-2008, 10:51 PM my PAW............................................... .........................
samuel882 05-10-2008, 10:52 PM YES ! Thailand finally manage to 'upset' Germany....
Watch up INA, they've really got a great fighting spirit.....

Relak lah... YKH and Rexy :D
I think it is so that all of the team can warm up...
madbad 05-10-2008, 10:53 PM THA finally overcomes GER 3-2! Tanongsak prevails over Reuter 21-14, 21-19 in the decider. 11 PAW points for everyone!
madbad 05-10-2008, 10:55 PM I have a feeling MAS has something up their sleeves for the KOR match in order to avoid CHN in the cross over. Stay tuned
samuel882 05-10-2008, 10:59 PM I have a feeling MAS has something up their sleeves for the KOR match in order to avoid CHN in the cross over. Stay tuned
KOREAN is smart either.. They would wanna avoid CHN too in the Semis... It could be end up both team fight to lose the match.... But I dont think there will be any fishy line-up for MAS.

Nothing will surprise me from either team. Win the Cup at all costs
pjswift 05-10-2008, 11:04 PM YES ! Thailand finally manage to 'upset' Germany....
Watch up INA, they've really got a great fighting spirit.....
Barely. My guess is THA will rest Poompat and field Tanongsak for some useful and enriching education from TH.THA MS4 should be able to work SS even with losing.
Does the win over GER mean that THA gets into QF?(cos i wanna see Tanongsak play in QF)
reiko80 05-10-2008, 11:10 PM Hmm..Just come back from breakfast..So lively here..
jessica....r u here:D:D:D:D
jimbo 05-10-2008, 11:11 PM Nothing will surprise me from either team. Win the Cup at all costs
It only applies for the Msia camp but NOT Kimchi team. I think KOR will field "weird" line-ups against Msia and we will crash out in QF against INA. KOR will enroute to Final
badMania 05-10-2008, 11:15 PM No surprises in Japan's WS lineups, but interesting changes in Japan's WD lineups:
WS1: Eriko Hirose vs Maria Kristin -- Eriko can win the first point
WD1: Satoko Suetsuna/Miyuki Maeda vs Vita Marissa/Lilyana Natsir -- INA needs to go for broke and win this one here.
WS2: Yu Hirayama vs Adriyanti Firdasari -- now, Firda needs to be at her best and try to win a point for INA.
WD2: Reiko Shiota/Tomomi Matsuda vs Jo Novita/Greysia Polii -- this combination no doubt increases Japan's chance of winning the tie. It should be the deciding tie...and Jo/Grace need to win this one if INA were to have any chance of salvaging the tie.
WS3: Kaori Mori vs Pia Zebadiah -- if the score is split at 2-2, then, Kaori should beat Pia.
samuel882 05-10-2008, 11:19 PM Barely. My guess is THA will rest Poompat and field Tanongsak for some useful and enriching education from TH.THA MS4 should be able to work SS even with losing.
Does the win over GER mean that THA gets into QF?(cos i wanna see Tanongsak play in QF)
Thailand are expected to meet NZ during the play-off & advance to the QF to up against the mighty CHN team.
We wont get the chances to see Tanongsak in action if Thailand were beaten 0-3 in the first 3 matches of the ties..He is expected to be fielded in MS3 as in today's Thailand line-up.
pjswift 05-10-2008, 11:20 PM KOREAN is smart either.. They would wanna avoid CHN too in the Semis... It could be end up both team fight to lose the match.... But I dont think there will be any fishy line-up for MAS.
KOR is not bothered about winning or losing and definitely fears none. However, my guess is PSH will have a calibration match with LCW, LHI will lose his match unless WCH gifts him and the MDs will switch their combinations around to give MAS MDs some impromptu fun. Hafiz and SSM will both compete for fitness tests.
badMania 05-10-2008, 11:21 PM beaten 0-3 in the first 3 matches of the ties..He is expected to be fielded in MS3 as in today's Thailand line-up.
He will still play in the Group matches. 3-0 or 3-1 can only happen after the Group stages.
madbad 05-10-2008, 11:21 PM It only applies for the Msia camp but NOT Kimchi team. I think KOR will field "weird" line-ups against Msia and we will crash out in QF against INA. KOR will enroute to Final
If KOR fields a weird team with the intention to lose, and they do, then they will play against INA in the QF, not MAS

Felix. 05-10-2008, 11:51 PM Tough for INA ladies to win against Japan, unless Maria wins her first match.
samuel882 05-10-2008, 11:53 PM Looks like all the giants fielding their strongest possbile line-up in respective Thomas Cup Group stages 1st match. Probably CHN is the only team with the exception by resting Chen Jin & the MD2 Gup/Xie
fantastic4 05-10-2008, 11:54 PM Anybody knew the line up of INA Vs JPN Match ?
pjswift 05-10-2008, 11:58 PM If KOR fields a weird team with the intention to lose, and they do, then they will play against INA in the QF, not MAS
I don't think KOR fields weird team to lose but they probably like to mix up their MDs to confuse and check out MAS MDs 'unknown' weaknesses. They are ok regardless whether they meet INA or CHN.This gives them the opportunity of using TC as a 'research' tournament.
ctjcad 05-11-2008, 12:04 AM No surprises in Japan's WS lineups, but interesting changes in Japan's WD lineups:
WS3: Kaori Mori vs Pia Zebadiah -- if the score is split at 2-2, then, Kaori should beat Pia.
..sounds very tantalizing indeed...Hmm, hope they'll show this tie on live webstream...:p:cool:
As for those people wishing for M'sia and/or KOR TC squads to finish 2nd or last in their group, you know what, both of them might not even make it past the QF stage. The winner of the MAS/ENG/KOR group, will probably have a bigger chance of reaching the Semis and play against CHN. So, better win the group!

pjswift 05-11-2008, 12:20 AM Why the umpire of LEe CW & Andrew Smith is from Malaysia ??
Because the organisers don't know that the umpire is from MAS or they know that MAS umpires have the highest standard of integrity?
badMania 05-11-2008, 12:21 AM 5 straight pts for Maria to make it 13-6, before Eriko broke her momentum and got 2 pts back. It's now 14-8 back to Maria.

Infact, not impressive at all from all the MAS players so far..
badMania 05-11-2008, 01:49 AM 6 smash winners from JPN vs 4 from INA
6 unforced errors from INA vs 0 from JPN.
4 clear winners from JPN vs 1 from INA.

robin7 05-11-2008, 01:50 AM Infact, not impressive at all from all the MAS players so far..
Agreed.
Looks like they are not in the mood yet...
samuel882 05-11-2008, 01:50 AM INa deserves to lost the UC matches, the concequences of threatening to pull out their squad if BWF did not reshuffle the original schedule for INA UC team.

jasonmarc 05-11-2008, 01:56 AM For INA Vs JPN......those who wins 1st game rather easy one...will eventually lost the match.........just like 1st WS.....and now 1st WD......lets see...hehehe
Felix. 05-11-2008, 01:56 AM Maria's loss gave a big blow to the rest which is expected in a team competition.
