Don't worry about it. One of my oldest racquets' paint came off like.. 30%/40% from the racquet head, but it's still usable. Unless you're going for looks, then you have nothing to worry about. Well, at least when you beat an opponent you can be proud of beating him with an ugly racquet:D:D:D

Think of it as shedding unneeded weight. :P

yeah, no big deal, as long as the racquet doesn't crack.

IF it really bothers you too much buy the same racket. =P

My MP40's head has paint chips everywhere, and it's so embarassing to show it. What I did, was that I used some black tape to cover it, and I used nail polish to cover up the parts which couldn't be covered by the tape. Now my MP40's more head-heavy ( head light -> even balanced ), and looks cooler like the MP100 too.. hehe.

Some people see their racket more than just a piece of equipment. They treasure it like as if it was their baby. ie paint chip = injury

thats me, i nailpolish the whole top half of my racket before i use it, i did it with both my ti 10's. not a single scratch.

Does the nail polish help prevent paint chips though?

It just covers up the paint chips or cracks. If I were to prevent paint chips, I'd tape the frame.

i could prevent the chips by caring for it but my friend has done most of the damage by picking off shuttles from the ground

why don't you put the same color (car paint).
Use cotton but to paint it.
My friend have done it and it look good.

I would like to see it. If you wrap your frame with a grip does it absorb vibration?

heck if i had to tape the racket i would have done it already
the thing is that my racket is 4u and im so used its light head and frame i dont even use an overgrip.
anyway the tape looks ugly. i wanna know if correction fluid would fill the chips so i can paint the head again

Just cover the frame with black finishing tape or something from the 9 O'clock position to the 3 O'clock position. it doesn't look wrong at all, infact, my racquets look even better with it.

haha but of course it's your choice whether to do it or not.

i say leave it. with all the shreaded off paint, your racket will become a 5U in no time. ;)

you can go to any auto parts store and buy a touch up paint (the size of a nail polish bottle).. they carry a variety of color to match your racquet

no shock absorbtion with the tape... .. yes, it is the badminton hand grip. cut into small pieces... looks cool.... and i removed it... and changed with some red wire tape. lighter... lol.

the nailpolish i use will protect it from minor scratches, say like minor scraping of the floor when accidentally trying to underhand clear. it may survive racket clash, or may not, i mainly do it because my "scooping birdie" technique isnt perfected, and the small tiny scratches bug me. its fairly effective though, if you ever want to take off the nailpolish, just use nailpolish remover with some paper towels

can anyone post pictures of their rackets with nail polish on it? :D

thing is, even if i took the pictures, you can hardly see. only thing to know that its there is if you feel it, a bit rougher than the usual paintjob. if you do a bad job spreading out the nailpolish, you can definitely feel it, sometimes slightly see it. i've tried the nailpolish on rackets with yellow, white, red, orange, and red, and its alright

Oh. alright. i'll give it a try. Does it add weight to the racket?

saifii

if nail polish adds weight than the ladies would build muscles, so it doesnt

(bad joke? i agree)

I have to find a colour that matches the gold and silver of the NS9000 so i cover up the paint chips.

thanks h4n5ip.. those paint chips are really annoying to look at.. btw, i did it on my AS10 too.. i don't have the before pic but here the after pic.. the trick is to put a thin coat first then apply a second coat after it dries then apply a coat of clear nail polish.

i brought my racquet inside the auto parts store so i can match the exact color of the racquet.. i saw some gold and lots of different shades of silver.

wow, good job for your Arch 10.
It takes me some seconds to recognize where was the chip.
Mine is the red one which got the chip.

I was wondering if it's still under warranty after we have modified the racket.

I went to 2 paint shops and 3 car shops today in search of the gold paint on top of the NS9000. Apparently it's a metalic yellow which no shop sold that colour. There was only gold and yellow.
