We are going to be against SKorea in the UC quarterfinals. Do we have a fair chance against them?

Korea is weakened by the absence of Jun Jae Joun (:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:). Well, let's see:
WS1: WMC v HHY... KOR 1-0
WD1:WPT/CEH (?) v Lee/Lee... KOR 2-0
WS2: Julia Wong v Lee Yun Hwa... KOR 2-1
WD2: Min Jung Kim/Jung Eun Ha v Pek Siah Lim/Hui Lin Ng... KOR 3-1
WS3: Lydia Cheah v Soo Young Jang (not necessary)

The key is WMC's match. She lost her last encounter to Hwang (hot cutie :D:D) rather tamely.

Great job by the girls, and Julia especially has learnt her lesson from yesterday. Istora environment is a great teacher .....

We may not yet be among the top 4 (even though seeded 4th), but we are definitely among the top 8. And with a pretty good chance to make a great fight against superior opponents tomorrow, Korea.

KOR v MAS
WS1: crucial tie
WD1: KOR pair too strong, MAS should field their strongest possible WD2
WS2: KOR advantage, but Julia can spring surprise
WD2: depends on what pairing MAS can field, though I think Ng Hui Lin has to play here as she has a lower ranking than Lim Pek Siah
WS3: KOR advantage, but you never know Lydia

Agreed. MAS needs win from 2 WS + 1 WD.

WMC's first tie is crucial. If WMC loses followed by WD1 (LKW/LHJ are expected to win), MAS is 0-2 down and this will put tremendous pressure to the rest.

It's very hard to separate the WD1 and WD2. no matter what combination, by the time reach WD2, m'sia might possible lose in 0-3. I am not thinking negatively, but look at the performance last few days, although they fought hardly, but the mental is not strong.

P/S: I support malaysia teams, especially women's team. proud of them qualified themself into the final round.

I think MAS shd...keep the WD line-up like today...KOR WD1 is way too strong.....so its better to fight the WD2 point.....what do you think...?;)

If MAS is smart, as you have suggested, they'd deconstruct their WD1 to as weak a WD1 team as possible and then bulk up on their WD2 team (and I don't mean chubby CEH ;):D. Lee/Lee will mow down any combo MAS throws up. Does WPT/NHL have enough points to make a WD1 team? If so, CEH/LPS can be a fairly strong WD 2 team.

Headache time for MAS management to find the right combination.

Hey bro. I agree it is tough but if MAS will to pull it off, they need to win WS1, WS2 and either WD2 or WS3. KOR shud be too strong for WD1. All agree?

Yup, both of them (Domke & Reuter) are younger players of German team. Joppien due to a special reason didn't go with the Thomas cup team this year.... I don't really know the reason why Joppien was absence but this brief info I read from the website of German Badminton Association (badminton.de)

there is always trouble between German Bad Association and Joppien, because Joppien refused to change his homebased chinese coach. Now they let him suffer for this whenever they can... not very clever if you ask me

she was not in from because she get a flu...and this affect her breathing in the match...and she won today...hmm...she worked hard to overcome her illness...please applause her...^^...

hmm...to me...the important thing that malaysia will win or not are determined by julia(in my opinion)...if i were ykm...i will play my game like this...

1.wmc
2.woon khe wei-sabrina
3.julia
4.wong pei tty-lim pek siah
5.julia

hmm...as what i known...scratch pair can be fill not based on WR(right???)...

so...it will be a 50-50 to wmc...
and for wkw-sabrina...losing with more than 15 point in each set already done their job...
the most important is that can julia wong once again overcome her illness to bet her opponent...this will determine that malaysia can or cant win this tie...if julia win this...the chance will be more than 60 for malaysia win over korea...
wpt-lps can win this...70-30
julia...hmm...i think(ya...i think) i knew her game well...if she train with right way,she will be second tina rasmussen...with her 176cm height and hard smash...she will win this important match...

if the line up does like mine's...if wmc win 1st ws...it will be 65-35 for malaysia...if not,wmc lose and julia overcome her illness and win,it will be 60-40...if both of them lost...bye bye to malaysia...

it is not wise that if ykh want to play wpt-lps against lee/lee...
and yes...malaysia have no chance if jjy is here...no chance...but lee yun hwa are not that good compare to yu of japan...and lydia will definiately win her match IF the match go that far...

Jie Jie,believe me,you will feel touch with our team spirit..Who dare to say we are not united anymore???:D:rolleyes:

By failing to make to the QF, JPN must have been very disappinted with their performance in UC...

MAS has a tough opponent KOR awaiting in the QF though...

Excellent!!! Yup, I followed new PAW tactics, follow madbad ..... :D

Great job by the girls, and Julia especially has learnt her lesson from yesterday. Istora environment is a great teacher .....

wow...i spend 40 minutes to read from the beginning...hmm...for those that saying julia are nervous(or anything) vs denmark yesterday was incorrect...

she was not in from because she get a flu...and this affect her breathing in the match...and she won today...hmm...she worked hard to overcome her illness...please applause her...^^...

hmm...to me...the important thing that malaysia will win or not are determined by julia(in my opinion)...if i were ykm...i will play my game like this...

Julia is not bad but not strong enuf. 176cm height? who?

Uber cup will be tough to win against korea. Lets hope lah. A waste to loose to Denmark after so many high hopes. haizzzz....

176cm should be Lydia, she is young and I hope to see greater success from her

Limsy, Lydia Cheah is 176 cm NOT Julia Wong

I am sorry, but you are too confident, my friend. The veteran CTF/LWW and the youngster KKK/TBH are still much stronger than the two pairs of JPN.

In single, LCW and WCH are still much better than the 1st and 2nd single of JPN.

How is possible JPN to take 3 pts from tomorrow's match?

agreed with you.
Our MS definately is better than Japan. For MD, if both pairs not dreaming, they have higher chances to win.

you can if you mix the MAL MS & MD a bit, Korean style.

This is interesting, we have just developed a new term in badminton. "Korean style" is an appropriate term we can use from now to describe such a situation mentioned above, i.e. mixing unsuitable players or throwing a match... very shameful in the world badminton.... not sportive at all....

No.. Don't ever dream about it.. Fielding a ROJAK line-up is 100% not an option by MAS team.
