I was hitting around tonight with my friend and before warm ups were done his racket was cracked. His skill level is beginner/intermediate. He had nbg 95 or 98 at 21 lbs and he doesnt hit the ground from what i can tell. Racket is also a type X

Sorry for the grainy pics i only had my blackberry at the time. I feel this is one of the most fragile rackts ive seen. They always seem to break between 10 and 11 oclock (10:30?) or 1 and 2 oclock (1:30)

Ouch, that's gotta hurt (as in, mentally, not physically). If the racquet is still under warranty, he can get it replaced. Maybe he already had a crack before this, and didn't notice it? I find it kinda hard to believe that it will break just by hitting the shuttle =/ unless he's an advanced player who mishit really hard, but at 21lbs..?

Same here, broke Ns9K X at the same place due to mishit.
Yes, this is the most fragile racket I have come across.

I hope my NS9000X doesn't break like that. Just wondering are the AT700/AT900 frames stronger than the NS9000 frames?

Crashandburn and Illusionstpro how long did you own the NS9000X before the frame broke?

I know this is a little off topic here, but is the NS9K typs S as fragile too?

Considering those chips, the racket has been through some racket clashes then correct?

Me and Ns9K X only lasted for 2 sessions max thats all.
Ns9K X is one of fav rackets among others I have ever tried, but it does not last long enough, hence give up and change model(s).
Simpe, TOO fragile for me.

Broke 3 of them, one due to mishits and 2 due to minor clashes.
1x JP
1x CP
1x SP

AT900s/AT700 are defintely stronger than Ns9K X simply because Ns9KX is the MOST fragile racket I have ever tried.

Do u have any proof that JP rackets r more durable than the others?

Yonex will never say JP>US, CD, SP because it would hurt their own products.

Like i said the racket isnt mine and i didnt even notice the other chips, good eye yall. There probably was some sort of external issue at one point either clash or ground hit that damaged it internally and finally broke last night. Regardless Im much more brutal with a lot other rackets and theyve survived much worse. ns9k= fragile.

Id say the AT700 is slightly more durable than the NS9000's, but AT900's are stronger than the NS9000's.

I have gone through 5 hard clashes and all resulted in paint chips only. No broken racket for me yet. BTW my NS9000X is JP so that could explain why it hasn't broke yet:p

Isn't the CP the best qulaity out of all the codes?

you could always try the APACS version which in my experience..a lot tougher.

My NS9KX is sitll holding up pretty strongly, but I did break a NS9KX a while ago do to a defect. I'm thinking of switching to AT series.:)

Well, seems like nanospeeds aren't really that durable at all. With reports of all these breakages, it makes me think if I should ever buy a nanospeed.

headlight racquets these days..

The Titanium & Carbonex racquets & very durable! & good performance too.
Basic series is also very durable i noticed..

Light head + higher and higher tension = Fragile racket...

however the N9k series seems to be overdoing it with the breakage... racket contact can be ok... but like from miss hit... this is kinda too much ^^

I wonder how many more N9k Yonex sold compared to AT series ^^

You also forgot to mention that you also hit the ceiling when you used it in the house! That is physical damage, and probably compromised the racket before it actually broke. :D

My NS9KS JP is holding up fine. Stringed up with NGB98 at 27lbs works great. It has been through collisions due to my friends borrowing and clashing it.

Ehehe even worse!! Why damage your own home. Could end up being scolded by the house owners if they see "damage".

Yeah umm.. I tried doing that before too.. with my MP40. I left a huge red mark on the ceiling. I told my parents that I threw a piece of crayon onto the ceiling and left that mark. haha.. they didn't care about it. They cared more about the holes in the walls from me playing against the wall.. There are nails behind the wallpaper, and obviously when i hit those spots.. it made a hole. And there's tons of little holes on my bedroom wall now..

This could show that badminton is a high maintaining sport where you have to pay for damaged walls:p.

ahah! yeah. Probaby put like a layer of cushion in font of the wall. That will help.

If you're living in a nice home with walls professionally painted walls. It's definately not worth being forced to pay for calling those painters to fix that area. Several hundred dollars right there.
