For Msia, if MD1 won, Msia would have won - was still 50-50 chance, KKK/TBH have won & lost to Fu/Cai. Some said Rexy should have fielded uncles, but uncles also lost to Korea, etc. Fu/Cai played better today.

i think we have to admit the fact that our 2nd and 3rd singles players are not as good as china... it is time to give our younger players some exposure in this kind of team event.... it is a waste that Arif was not given any chance to play in this year's Thomas Cup... Koo/Tan will need to find inspiration to win again... something is not right in this pair as we saw Cai/Fu just played their normal game just now but our Koo/Tan just couldn't give them a fight... overall, malaysia achieves target of last 4... i predict Indonesia will win tonight... :)

Btw, since you free, how in the world did LCW manage to beat LD in straight sets? I didnt get to watch that match, actually I didnt get to watch all except Hafiz vs CJ, that was predictable.

Oh yeah, on Arif, like someone else posted, they didnt want Arif to be another KBH. If young Arif lost, could effect him till his career never got started, then even worse. Look at what happened to KBH after the 2006 lost.

LCW while not as dominating as LD, stepped up to the challenge and outplayed a LD that looked a bit lost and lacking in touch. LCW making very few mistakes, stayed composed and consistent throughout.

Fuzzy very impressive. played like youngster with fire, determination and tip top fighting spirit. we can see that they are totally engrossed into the game and never lost focus. well done.

negative:

Hafiz. the hope of the country is on him and he was trying to make pretty but useless shots on court. played with no sense of urgency. talent don't win a game.

neutral:

WCH played well, old guard unfortunately did not manage to keep up with the pace of BCL and lost at the end. cannot really blame him.

KKK/TBH: i don't put much criticism on KKK/TBH. they are up against a very strong and in form FHF/CY. they missed out slightly. i think in general they are not at the top top form like they were in the AE, but at least they didn't give up.

China:


positive:

FHF/CY: played to expectation. did slowed down a bit in the middle but kept their pace and placement throughout, constantly pressuring KKK/TBH.

BCL: no longer our old Bao. he has grown up a lot in the last couple of years. good job.

CJ: didn't have a very tough opponent, the best part he did was maintain focus even though opponent falling apart.

negative:

LD seems lost and lacking in spirit. looks either a bit too arrogant or confident. he didn't play to his 100% potential.

Xie Zhongbo/Guo Zhengdong: what on earth are they doing? i mean really, they played like amateurs. they did try to give a fight on the 1st game, but ran out of everything: gas, spirit, mental. Xie hit 2 easy kill into the net at crucial time.

Well..I agree with you on this..Do you all still think Tan suitable to pair up with Koo???I am not creating problem here but i just feel something lacking in their partnership.
Both of them is very talented and good player but i just don't understand why they have so much pressure when playing.

They're the main hope, soon to be main pair (after uncles retire), that kinda thing always give TBH a lot of pressure. If it still doesnt work out, after OG, like discussed in the other threads, they will split to partner others. No prob in that, we have so many MD players.

Yeah, why on earth didn't they keep that for this tie?? When I saw the line-up I just knew they'd messed up. As soon as Koo/Tan lost, that was pretty much it for Malaysia... I didn't expect it to get to third singles though... I thought Hafiz could have won, but I guess anything can happen on the day :( (didn't see the match though).
