View Full Version : Something fishy about Chinese players

lelynx
05-17-2008, 08:56 AM
I first noticed this when Chinese female players play against Malaysian...
During the intervene or break, please attention to the small towels that was given/passed to the players...
Notes: it's not the normal big Yonex towel that the player was carrying with them but it's a white small towel which will be passed to them by their coaches or a fat Chinese guy whom are wearing glasses...
Once the player have used that *towel*, they will pass it back to this fat guy...
I smelt something fishy there as if the they could have put something in the towel... maybe something aromatic to boost up the tired mind...
Please attention to this and you will know what I meant...
I saw the same thing for Uber Final just now... ;)
Same goes for Male players as well...

oh... cool towel !?
but why acting so *secretive* about it?
everytime it was used, quickly it was thrown back to this guy and he quickly *hide* it
as if they are doing something... hehehe
nvm, just my wild guess only...

Oh I think you are a bit wrong there.

Not completely wrong, but just a bit wrong :p:p:p. A big majority of Malaysians are not positive people. We cannot accept our losses. The amount of mail and comments I got yesterday bashing Koo/Tan and Hafiz for their losses just proves this.

We don't go: Its OK, lets move on to TC2010 or the OGs.

We go: 'KKK-TBH... haihhh... speechless' or 'i think the person who let us down the most is koo' or 'he ALWAYS screwed up at the most crucial time!' or 'balik kampung la~'

Why don't we give out players a break!

I'm suprised there isn't a 'Why Koo/Tan lost' thread , 'I blame this all on Koo/Tan' or 'Hafiz should retire' thread. Instead, all we get is a 'Choong Hann should retire' thread.:D:D:D Hafiz must be dissapointed that he didn't get discussed around and around in circles for 50 pages! :D:D:D

well, it's a free country and anyone can give their opinions...
regardless the truthfulness of it...
for me personally, try not to point fingers when we have lost but rather try to review why we have lost and take necessary action for it...
as the Olympic is around the corner and Malaysian will need to buck up their acts if they want to improve more...

Same goes for Male players as well...if chinese players really wanted hide any enhancing booster, they could easily spike their water bottle with any ingredient they want since bwf never test any winners urine or blood anyway. To win in the OG, all badminton players know that they can't cheat, especially chinese players winning in beijing. The embarassment would be long lasting.

Had someone said "Well thomas cup is not THAT important anyway", then that is called "sour grapes".

So sorry kwun, had to disagree with you on the sour grapes part.

I am sorry for mis-understood your point. It just happen that each time when Malaysian lost we'd see few hundreds of posts blaming their players for losing. Then another few hundreds of posts blaming the opponent for too strong, their cheap tactics, bad sportsmanship for not hands shaking right away and fishy towels, and coincidently they are all from Malaysia. But thank God we have the mighty LCW thread for positive comment.

lol are there actually any rule saying that no foreign objects (regardless of harmless towel) can be brought by a coach or any un/official person for the players' usage, that are not brought by the players themselves? curiosity killed the cat, and it soon will consume us if we overthink certain situations...cool towel will most likely explain it since the INA women are used to their own stadium/climate, where as (most likely) the CHN women aren't...although, since they are pros...shouldn't they have thought of a cool towel during breaks?! lol...

This is what Malaysia Boleh is all about.

I have heard crazy excuses why Malaysia lost to China i.e some claimed that the fans 'sabotaged' the team while some claimed the Malaysian shuttlers were 'jinxed'. :o:rolleyes::confused:

We lost to China simply because we were not good enough, period.

True, i guess when one put the word "fishy" after Malaysia lost, then being Malaysian one will be singled out as sore loser or sour grape. As i said before, while the issue of malaysian fans bing sore losers may or may not be true depending on ones point of view, i dont think the individual in question should be called sour grapes or what not.

Yes, CHN team has a 'pao mu' (nanny) whose job is to hand out the cold towels to help cool down and minimise the excessive heat build up in CHN players because it can get pretty hot in the stadium. This helps CHN players to maintain their physical condition especially when the matches drag on.
CHN has always been very thorough about non-badminton factors that can help give their players an edge.CHN's time-wasting delay tactics is disgusting but this 'cold towel' care is an excellent idea I absolutely support.(It's common in tennis tournaments like Australian Open)
If CHN took the trouble to help properly freshen up their players(with just a little effort) during intervals and other teams don't, then it's smart of CHN and too bad for the rest.Nowadays, big wins can be decided by attention to tiny details.
