Answer: For fun sake, we don't see any problem substituting a female player with a male.

One of our reasons for arranging matches for our CCC CATS is to prepare them for the next Melbourne CBA League Games which will start in a few months' time. And in the League Games, knowing how to play the Mixed Doubles format is essential.

Players@ccc are not having enough sleep
(1) hkhung said that Llewellyn had just 4 hours sleep.
(2) LisaC said she did not sleep for 48 hours when she came to play. This is too much.
(3) LilyC said exams are coming again, so she will be getting less sleep.
(4) Usually when one has not enough sleep, one sees double vision.;)
So, when playing a Game of Doubles, you will see 2 shuttles coming at you.:):)

It's quite an even Friendly Match; CCC HAWKS(5) narrowly beating CCC CATS(4).

Thanking all players for making it an enjoyable one. Thanking our captains, Tim-C and Andre-C, for organising and leading your teams. Thanking Christy-S and CJ-T for replacing our absent players. And thanking Ann-L, the only one who has ever experienced the CBA Melbourne Inter-Club Competition, for guiding the match along.

It's great to see some close scores, like in;
Event (M1+M2): 18-21 21-15 20-22 CATS WON
Event (L2+M2): 21-18 23-21 HAWKS WON
Event (M1+M3): 25-27 9-21 CATS WON

We hope that CCC CATS will come up on top next week, for the rematch. :D:D:D

How the match was played was planned quite similar to the CBA Melbourne Inter-Club Competitions, as Ann-L would tell our participants concerned. As our participants experienced more Friendly Matches, things will run more efficiently.

Here are my comments:
1. Players should only take a '2-minute warm-up' on court. It is on court, when players do some stroke practice and to get adjusted to the court and the lighting condition. Players should do some stretching, or skipping, or running around the hall, to get your body temperature up before getting on court for your event.
2. Captains or teammates should organise amongst yourselves, to choose who could/would umpire the next event in advance.
3. Because I sensed that you guys were running behind schedule that I got your events to be played on 2 courts. At the CBA Melbourne Club Competitions, only 1 court is allocated.

Let's see if we can be more efficient next week. ;););)

After having trialled the 6-aside twice at MSAC, we have found that our Friendly Match of 9 events playing 'Best of 3 games to 21 points, max at 30' on one court for a duration of 2.5 hours is probably too difficult to achieve. At supper after our Wednesday session, 4-Jun-2008, it was suggested that future 6-aside FM should be played as 'Best of 3 games to 15 points, max at 21'.

ShyYen ... All our Friendly Matches are for all our CCC members (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) to participate.

However, we have to be careful when we organise a Friendly Match. Our different opponents are of different strengths.

It is best to send our CCC team(s) comparable to their strength. For any particular CCC Friendly Match, we will always send a team of players, not weaker and not stronger.

We always hope for a "DRAW" result. :):):)

And our decisions are usually made by our CCC players attending our sessions on Wednesday at MSAC, Friday at Waverley, and/or Sunday at MSAC. And also from our CCC players attending our CCC Supper, when we have time to discuss things.

And it was approaching 7:30pm, so we extended our court hire to 8:00pm.

Event 6 (P2+P3):
1st Game: 23-21 (CCC WON)
2nd Game: 21-17 (SMM WON)

:D:D:D Up to this stage, the Points Won (262-252 to CCC). And it was approaching 8:00pm (the closing time at MSAC on Saturday nights)... so it was decided to have our 3rd Game to 11 points, with difference of 2 points at 10-all, and sudden death at 19-all.

And guess what... the 3rd Game went on to 10-all. :D

Eventually, the 3rd Game was won by SMM: 12-10. :)
Therefore, the Final Results: SMM won 4-2.

So even though CCC scored 272 points to SMM's 264, Team SMM is the WINNER. :)
