It's reported in the malay press & Sin Chew that China & Korea have bidded to host 2010 Uber Cup. The plan is TC & Uber will be held on different dates in different countries in 2010.

I talked with a BWF official several days ago... with a 95% chance of happening, KL will get the Thomas Cup... As for the separation of Uber Cup plan... that is not working out too well because the interest in it is quite low... :o So, yes, you're right most likely Kuala Lumpur will get both! ;)

The Thomas/Uber Cup will be in Kuala Lumpur in 2010. Initially they want to do the Thomas Cup in KL and Uber Cup in Ipoh ( Another State ). But end of the day i think we will be doing both at the Same venue.

..(this probably has been brought up before, in another thread or post)..here's what i think of the current hosting of the "big" BWF events.

Since the TC & UC just ended and the upcoming INA Open SS is going to be played, soon, i think BWF should allocate and award these "bigger" BWF events (e.g. TC & UC, SC, WC and Olympics) to non "traditional" badminton powerhouse countries in the future. I'm just looking at the upcoming schedule and i don't know how the fans, players/coaches think about holding 2 "major" events so close and, in terms of schedule, to each other and in the same country. It just feel that the "energy" of those "bigger" BWF events have zapped the excitement of the SS event.
Perhaps BWF could do so by awarding these "bigger" BWF events to countries in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Americas. Another way is to have them scheduled not so close to another SS event, esp. if they're held in the same host country (IMO, a min. of 3 months, apart, is good enough).

Looks like Thomas and Uber Cup 2010 will be held in Malaysia, it means since 1984 this BWF event is always taking place in Asia region as Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Japan are the host country. Maybe others have no interest to hold TUC?!

Yeah, i haven't seen any official announcement or confirmed dates yet, but as far as going by the history and the schedule (the last 5 Thomas & Uber Cup events), my hunch says it'll fall around the month of May. Just like this yr's Sudirman Cup.
Also as a note, as mentioned earlier, BWF was planning to hold the Thomas & Uber Cup separately starting in 2010, but they have scraped the plan and will combine both events in one place. And there's some talk that they might hold it outside of KL (in either Johor Baharu or Sarawak).

The reason is, M'sia will also hold another event at the end of that May.

Yeah.. Lee Chong Wei, KKK & TBH, Wong Pei Tty & Chin Ee Hui who win the 2008 Super Series Master Finals haven't get their prize money yet.. And the same thing happen in this year Super Series Master Finals.. 2008 SS Master Finals is sponsored by BAM & this year will be fully sponsored by BWF.. When they lose in a SS match they get the blame.. When they win, they don't want to pay them..:(
