What a day!

UC: who'd expect HK to beat indonesia? i mean, ok, knowing Indonesia current strength, maybe. what a fall for Indonesia, two UCs ago, they were the favorite! interesting to see that Ellen Angelina loss to Ling Wan Ting. Ellen was in HK for a period of time training with the HK squad. perhaps the coaches learned a bit about her then..

TC: China beating Sweden. it is a very convincing win, with the 2nd doubles losing the only game. this is great confidence boost for China. even though it is somewhat expected. (sorry Mag....)

TC: Denmark vs. Korea. what a surprise! everybody seems to think Korea is the strongest team. it was interesting to read the news from yesterday, the Korea coaches attitude are like "we are here to win, we have the strongest team". etc. which is a contrast to a few weeks ago, where they were a bit more humble saying that their goal is to get to the semis. but look. Denmark took them down. LHI must have gotten a big slap in the face by his coach.

with this, the group B fight will be much closer. if there were a 3 way tie between China/Denmark/Korea, every game and every point counts. how exciting.

UC: Denmark vs. Netherlands. the score board seems to be wrong. from the Score, Denmark beat Netherlands by 3-2. but the score board says otherwise.

Correction:

LARS PAASKE, JONAS RASMUSSEN bt LEE DONG SOO, YOO YONG SUNG (7-2, 8-6, 3-7, 7-2).

I thought the Korean coash would have thought Lee Hyun II, and Lee/Yoo would have won their matches easily. And Kim/Ha almost lost in 4 games.

Look like Netherland has replaced Denmark as the #1 Women's team in Europe.

No. I have the live score web site running while I'm working in my office. I'm just about 50 miles north of where you are. I wish TC and UC can be on TV here in the Bay Area.

Qidong,

thanks for the updates.

it looks like the Chinese organizers have cleaned up the scoring tables. i must say they have done a good job with the website. i think this is the first time we are getting live scoring for badminton from China.
