Remember in Spore Open thread, Huang said Hendra came down with thypus & they have withdrawn from both Indonesia & Spore Open. I suppose it wouldnt be reflected in the draw till later.

I still don't like this 'no national separation' rule... After looking at the draw, I see too many INA vs. INA, MAS vs. MAS, DEN vs. DEN, and TPE vs. TPE in the first round / qualification...

Ok, I can accept the fact that there are going to be a lot of INA vs. INA in the INA SS. That's probably because there are many INA competitors in our home soil. But for foreign players who have flown as far as DEN and then meet DEN in the 1st round. Aiyaa... there goes their US $3000 of round-trip plane tickets...

Oh yeah, and I'm not looking forward to see Taufik vs. Sony in the quarterfinals... :(

Andre Kurniawan Tedjono will give LCW a good fight in the R16. But I think LCW will probably win in 2 competitively played games.... This will be the 1st time they face each other. :) I'm going to watch.

Three INA WS players at main draw find tough challenge here and looks like hard to progress into quarterfinal.

Maria Kristin Yulianti -- R/32 vs qualifier and R/16 Tine Rasmussen or Yao Jie
Adrianti Firdasari -- R/32 vs Hwang Hye Youn and R/16 Zhou Mi
Maria Elfira Christina -- R/32 vs Salakjit Ponsana and R/16 Wong Mew Choo

Almost all top-10 WS players will come to this tourney except Xie Xingfang (WR#1), Lu Lan (#2) and Xu Huaiwen (#8), pretty competitive!

They have withdrawn from Singapore but for IO, they may...depends on how Hendra recovers...so far Kido/Hendra still participate in IO....

My prediction for INA players who can go to the quarterfinals:
MS: Simon and Sony
WS: realistically, none...:o but I'm hopeful... :p
MD: (a healthy) Kido-Hendra, Tony-Candra or Rian-Yoke, Luluk-Alven, and if Fran-Rendra can surprise Keita-Tadashi in the 1st round... :p the Japanese pair showed some slump lately...
WD: Lili-Vita, Mel-Shendy [excellent draw], Rani-Endang
XD: Lili-Nova, Flandy-Vita, with a slight hope for Fran-Shendy... ;)

Vita Marissa/Lilyana Natsir [3]
R32 vs Bye
R16 vs Jo Novita/Greysia Polii
QF vs Nita Krishinda/Lita Nurlita or Ha Jung Eun/Kim Min Jung or Christina Pedersen/Mia Schjoett Kristensen -- Vita/Butet should be able to beat these few pairs to reach the SF.
SF vs Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen -- should be an interesting match

Jo Novita/Greysia Polii
R32 vs Louisa Koon Wai Chee/Chau Hoi Wah -- manageable tie
R16 vs Vita Marissa/Lilyana Natsir -- tough luck

Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti
R32 vs Nicole Grether/Charmaine Reid -- manageable tie
R16 vs Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui -- a tough match for QF progress.

Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa Irawati
R32 vs Nathalia Poluakan/Yulianti -- a tough one for the Djarum gals, but, they should have an edge.
R16 vs Kamilla Rytter-Juhl/Lena Frier-Kristensen -- another tough tie, remember, Mel/Shendy nearly beat the Danes no 1 pair.

Nitya Krishinda/Lita Nurlita
R32 vs Ha Jung Eun/Kim Min Jung -- a tough draw

Deasy Lelyana Chandra/Yunita Tetty
R32 vs Duang-Anong Arunkesorn/Kunchala Voravichitchaikul -- tough match for the Suryanaga pair.

My verdict: Vita/Butet should survive till the SF. Mel/Shendy could progress to the QF if they can beat the Danes.

R16 vs possibly David Lindley/Suzanne Rayappan
QF vs possibly Keita Masuda/Miyuki Maeda [8]
SF vs possibly Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl [4]
F vs possibly Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa [3] or Zheng Bo/Gao Ling [2]

Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa [3]
R32 vs Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Kristina Pedersen -- tricky match
R16 vs Mohd Rijal/Greysia Polii -- unlucky for Rijal/Grace
QF vs possibly Chen Hung Ling/Chou Chia Chi [6]
SF vs possibly Zheng Bo/Gao Ling [2]

Mohd Rijal/Greysia Polii
R32 vs Chan Peng Soon/Ooi Yu Hang
R16 vs Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa

Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita
R32 vs Rasmus Bonde/Helle Nielsen -- tough match...may not progress
R16 vs Zheng Bo/Gao Ling [2]

Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati
R32 vs Lim Khim Wah/Wong Pei Tty -- also a tough match
R16 vs Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Kostiuczyk [5]

Bambang Suprianto/Deasy Lelyana Chandra
R32 vs Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Kostiuczyk [5]

Tri Kusharyanto/Yunita Tetty
R32 vs Kwon Yi Goo/Ha Jung Eun

My verdict: Nova/Butet and Flandy/Vita to progress to at least SF. Fran/Shendy can qualify to QF if they can beat the tricky Polish pair.

I'm not surprised. That same lady in PBSI Secretariat Office also forgot to enter the names of Luluk-Debby to the 2007 Thai International Series.

And she sometimes mixed up the names. Like pairing Alfiat with Debby at the 2007 World Junior Championship while partnering Wifqi with Pia. Actually, Wifqi-Debby had considerable BWF ranking points and have partnered for the whole year... just due to her administrative error, they ended up being forced to play with different partners and were not seeded... :(

But Msia MS - LCW & WCH are going for both Spore & Indonesia SS.
And no withdrawal for WMC & WPT/CEH. If under Misbun, most likely he would want them to go for both.
WCH I dont know why, see progress perhaps?

Wah, they more senior than Tony/Chandra.
Should be CCM/CCE, the semi-uncles vs the Indonesia uncles.
If there are other Indonesia pairs above 30 like Denmark(Tony/Chandra dont count), they'll be the older uncles or the "old men of badminton, Asia region".

Singapore and Indonesia SS still count towards SS rankings and world rankings and will affect who can play in the 2008 SS Finals [if they have it]and the 2009 World Championship. For MAS, sending players to SIN SS and INA SS is economical... ;)

Should be MAS semi-uncles vs. INA semi-grandpas. I bet we will never see anyone over 50 in a Superseries tournament, so age 40 should be considered "grandpa" or at least semi-grandpa. :D

kah, kah. Maybe, maybe. JE/ML of Denmark are 35/38 this year.
my definition is 30 & above is uncle, CCM = 28, CCE=32 -> semi uncle. CTF/LWW have the honours of MD uncles title

Indonesia veteran = 41 to 50 is grand uncle. But one is 40, the other is 35.
Luluk/Alvent is Indonesia's semi uncle, almost 30. Tony/Chandra is Indonesia/USA uncles at 33(?).

So, yes ye333, can put Msia semi-uncle vs Indonesia semi-grand uncle.

I totally agree. At least not for qualification and 1st round. They should make some change on the rule. If I were the player, I rather to play with opponent from other country.

"RULE made by the persons who are not players". That's the problem.
